Nya said as she furiously wiped away her tears. They wouldn't stop, just kept flowing down her cheeks no matter how hard she tried to make that not happen.

Nya removed the sleeve from in front of her face and looked up at Ryo. She sniffed a few times, forcing her largest sobs to disappear, but the leftover tears streaked down her face still. After a little bit, she began staring up at his again, observing every detail of his face now that he was so close. Up close, he was even more gorgeous than from far away and his motions were light yet firm and that made her feel.... Well.... Safe. After another sniff, she lifted her left hand and placed it on his cheek gently, watching how her hand sunk into his skin slightly. She had expected Ryo's face to be a bit more rugged so the smoothness of his skin came as a surprise. Only a few tears remained on her face now.

Nya's attention snapped back to reality when her real name was used and she caught Ryo's eyes with hers. She listened to him try to make her feel better and was grateful that a stranger would say such kind things to someone like her. Her hand left his cheek, her fingers coiling slightly, as her ear was once again rubbed. The eye on the same side closed and her mouth made a small "o" shape as Nya tilted her head.
"H-how can you promise such a thing?" she asked opening her closed eye once more and staring into his gold and black orbs. Her left hand still hung in the air and she wrapped her arm around his neck, her right arm following suit.

Though they were both shinobi she decided that she could trust him. Even a little. A bit of doubt crossed her face as she looked at him.
"But I bet you're going to leave me soon like the others who have said they'd protect me, huh?" she asked accusingly.

Words were unable to come out of her mouth. He had to be old enough to be her dad and she was crushing on him so hard. Her grip around his neck tightened once more and she slowly looked up to him. Her face was a combination of fear, shame, embarrassment, and the like.
"You make me afraid to tell you my age..." she said, her voice matching her expression.

"No- don't- don't do that..." she pleaded as she grasped his shirt. "Please don't pull away from me..." she said, her voice cracking and going low.
'Ugh. Stupid, helpless, weak, sick, shameful-' The insults from her own mind continued.
