Zurine was about to answer the boils and ghouls she had been talking with when the teacher spoke again and unfortunately it was not a good thing. If she had been the type to become embarrassed by being so singled out she might have blushed...but she wasn't and so while she was indeed disappointed to be leaving a group of what might have been friends - and for likely leaving a rather unfortunate impression on one of the school's teacher she decided it was better to just apologize and get out before something worse happened or she held them up any longer.

Whatever..at least she'd met some people right? Even if it had been cut short. "Sorry" she told the teacher as she gathered her things and headed for the door "I'm new..I didn't realize" She finished as she left, it was likely a lame excuse but she at least hoped he wouldn't hold it against in future classes, she really hadn't meant to intrude.

"That's a pretty good way of looking at it I guess," Bul replied to Tro as he crossed arms. "It seems they only agree when I'm in mortal peril elsewise I'd have bit the dust (almost literally) out in that waste. Willow and Edel would surely know what he meant.

Edel's description of the cages only ignited a flame of mixed emotions, frustrations even that when she spoke of gratitude towards him it went completely in one ear and out the other. Then...


The professor spoke. If you were close enough you could see the steam building up around Bul when Rengath considered him 'weak.' Instantaneous, his spikes rattled and he thrashed his tail behind him. "Why I Outta-" Snarling to himself he turned on his heel ready to storm off stage but waited to hear as he started to give further instructions. Other students seemed to be getting a bit of a nasty from him as well. "Sissy a** son of a-"

His eyes went to Chuppi whom which he'd been partnered with ((Asked vamps about this, its a go!)). Was he upset being partnered with her? Not at all. But he did feel that in the professor's eyes he was not adequate. Maybe he was... just new? In time he'd show him what a raw monster was made of. Leering over Chuppi he narrowed his eyes and focused all his frustrations in his teacher towards his spines and spikes getting them to ripple threateningly.

Of course in the back of his mind all he wanted to do was apologize to the poor ghoul.

Riley watched the professor very carefully, with a look of scathing doubt. She trusted new professors about as far as she could throw him, and the outlandish behavior coupled with throwing a new student out for being late had Riley feeling just a little over-suspicious. As Zurine left, Riley reached out and patted her partner, Willow, on the shoulder.

I apologize, my dear. Please enjoy the rest of the class.

She slapped Calder over the head for his previous comment, and then quietly followed Zurine out, putting her hand on the ghoul's shoulder in a gesture of solidarity and comfort as they left the room.

Willow shook her head and sighed, when the teacher insulted Bul. "Obviously he's not aware of what we went through," She muttered debating on giving a suggestion to Bul but that'd wait until after class.

Her tail flickered as she looked for Riley, who wasn't that hard to find. "I'll be back."

She gave a nod to Tro and Edel as well as she was about to leave to meet with Riley she felt a clap to her back. Ear's twitching as she looked to the Mind flayer a bit confused but she tried to be chipper about it. "Oh... okay, I'll see you later?" Of course this seemed to now leave Willow a bit partner-less... Her ears fell a bit as she watched Riley and then sighed before glancing back to the Rengath.

"Well...." She looked at Bul with his attempt at Chuppi. Which in her mind was rather impressive, and then sighed she'd have to see what this teacher wanted her to do. She raised a hand after Riley was well out of the classroom. "Sir, I do believe I don't have a partner to scare."

...woop. There went Zurine. Taryn made a bit of a face and then turned her head toward the list of partners. Calder? That was... the horse boil. In the skirt. Riiiight...

How did you scare someone who was clearly so much scarier than you? Granted, she didn't know how THAT had worked what with his getup, but that was how these things went, she guessed. How about some surprise? She rushed at Calder suddenly, setting her legs wide and clawing her hands by her waist. She let out a loud, animalistic roar, and heat was visible rising from her throat, but she fought back the lick of fire that threatened.

It had been a long time since Raziel had come into contact with Tahki. They had only kind of met before and were more acquaintances than anything. He had also been a complete jerk to her on at least one previous occasion. "It's good to see you again!" Raziel chose to say, a grin spread across his face. He had grown a lot since their first meeting and he was quite a bit more friendly... most of the time.

Since they're objective was to scare the other, Raziel was going to do pretty much the same as he had done to the chair. However, this time his spirit wasn't really in it. He didn't want to scare Tahki at all, he had already been mean enough once before.

Chuppi all but wilted when she found that she had to stay after class - was it because she'd gotten really distracted and hadn't participated in that stretch of exercise? Mostly she'd spent all of her time trying to hard to get onto her chair that she was loathe to actually get off it (and so she remained on it) though she nearly jumped from her skin the moment she was told she needed a partner and a rather tall and burned looking boil was assigned to her. She hadn't even had a chance to say anything to him when he suddenly turned and leered at her, his entire body puffing up.

Her reaction to all of it? She puffed herself up as well, not using her FEAR at all and keeping her mouth shut as best she could, and she felt her entire body seem to shift. Her quills stood themselves on end and seemed to spark as they scraped against one another, and her red eyes seemed to grow larger and darker as she looked at Bul.

No Chuppi was not trying to scare him - this was her natural response to being frightened all on her own.

Before they were all paired off, Holly had seen Levi wave her over to the other side of the stage where another ghoul was. Huh. That must have been a new student. The ghoul got up and went over to join her friend. When she did get up she saw West with a weird look on his face. ... Okay then. She'd just made it over to Levi and Lark when the class resumed. Darn. Perhaps after class they'd get to talk then.

Some talent? She scoffed. What the Jack was up with this teacher. Kind of scary. Holly doubted her natural abilities would actually scare anyone. Unless they disliked foxes.

Ok. Scare partner and don't touch them. She could do that. Who was Ulmuka? Most of the class she knew so that only left a handful of people it could be. But then he found her first so that worked too. She jumped back a step when he yelled but she wasn't caught too much off guard.

Looking around the class the others were all lucky. They had cool prickly things or ways of easily scaring. She couldn't use any of her ghost abilities so what could she do? She opened her mouth wide then covered it with a hand. Her eyes widened. Holly pointed a hand at his shoulder. "What in Jack's name is on your shoulder!" She tried to say that in her best sounding scared voice. Of course there wasn't anything there but it was worth a try, right?

She chuckled. "Nice to meet ya Muka, I'm Holly."

Willow's ears twitched as she looked up at Rengath with a brow lofted. Scare herself? Was this guy serious? The byakko rolled her shoulders, well if that's what he wanted.

She didn't really need the mirror to scare herself the nightmares did enough of a job. She stretched as she slide over the chair that she was leaning on and headed toward the mirror.

She was looking into the mirror, "Bet this would be more interesting if it was a fun house mirror." She mused as she took a few steps back and seemingly considered what she was going to do before managing to puff out her fur and roar at the mirror. She jumped back and looked startled when it broke. "Uh.... oops?" That was probably a bad pitch for a roar but maybe it worked.

Edel may have gotten a little shock from Bul's little outburst and she swiftly took a step to her side to avoid getting hit his tail. Mr. Rengath ... was definitely not sitting well with some of the other students.

With the next task assignment announced, the ghoul nodded to Tro, Willow and Bul before she took her leave. She had received no comments from the teacher which she supposed was a good and bad thing, though she had to admit her performance was rather mediocre.

The frost demon was a little pleased to find that she had been paired with Mort – at least they knew each other, though the ghoul still felt a little embarrassed and indignant of the undead's apparent impression of her. She had to suppress a blush as Mort approached her, but her expression quickly changed once she saw the look on his face. Ah really, do know when to talk about certain things could you? she chided herself. Yes, perhaps she should just zip it about the field trip.

“Hey Mort ...” Edel gave a quick nod and then asked, “S-Shall I go first?”

The ghoul thinned her lips as she cracked her head to think of a way to scare Mort. Not really scare per say, but more of try-to-look-a-little-convincing-for-Mr. Rengath. Edel tried channelling whatever she anger she had been feeling earlier into her look but alas, she couldn't bring herself to look like that at the undead. There was a lame swipe of her claw-like fingers at Mort in an attempt to salvage her lousy scary face. But it was just pathetic and she knew it.

“Y-Your turn?” she said sheepishly.

However pitiful Edel might have thought her performance was, Mortimer was about to one-up her. Or one-down her as the case might have been.

For one, Mort also was somewhat self-conscious of the last time they had met, as by now the medication had worn off and his spouted statement about "nakedness" rang harsher in his ears than a batling's screech. For another, he was pretty sure that by now she thought of him as a horndog, or some sort of weird creeper, or something equally disturbing and sad to see. And for finally, the zombie had had no idea that she had been in one of those cages.

These combined did not give him the necessary fuel or will to want to scare the demon. Had he not known how hard "Mr. Ringuth" would be on them, he might have just outright got to his knees and ask for a clean slate with the ghoul - he'd hate to look like a loser to such a nice student.

Wincing, he raised his hands in a dilapidated and awkward manner, hands curled slightly inward, and lifted a leg up slightly. "Graaaaa," Mort tried to growl as he leaned forward.

Unfortunately, he looked a little too much like the guy in the back to actually seem scary. In fact, it might make someone laugh, how goofy he looked.

A few seconds held in that pose, the boil dropped his limbs and rubbed the back of his neck self-consciously. Spectacular.

Far be it for Petro to want to continue the subject of discussion if it upset a ghoul. His mouth pulled into a wry grin as he was about to suggest a different topic but their teacher announced their results. And kicked a student out? Huh. He'd seen harsher punishments in his Clan so it seemed like she was getting off easy.

However Riley didn't seem to agree and left with the other ghoul. A square-root brow quirked at her action but he said nothing. However, the horse boil could find nothing in the way the teacher addressed Bul as favorable. He'd placed a hand on the half-beast's shoulder, the same way the mind-flayer had with the padfoot ghoul. "Y'll prove him wrong." It was spoken low but with confidence.

He gave the other two ghoul encouraging smiles and wished them the best with their task. "This oughta be easy for y', after all y've been through."

The tikbalang rose to his full height to search for his partner, "Julian? Y' here?" he called out, cracking his knuckles and squaring his shoulders back in an open attempt at intimidation.

The frost demon brought a hand over her mouth, stifling a laugh. She knew she was being a terrible, terrible, impolite person now, but ...

“Oh no no no..” came the attempt at comforting Mort, but those weren't the right words to say. Edel was desperately backpedalling.

“It goes for both of us actually ...” The ghoul broke into a grin, thinking about her performance as well. Mr. Rengath was going to have an uphill task teaching the two of them.

...She just hoped Mort wouldn't take offense.
