Route 2. possibly the largest route on the island next to Route 3. On this route, many things rested in waiting to be explored. From Verdant Cavern, to the local Cemetery. Eline's destination was said Cemetery. With no more delays before her, she made her northward to her destination. The Cemetery, cut off to the right of the route, There she'd light up the incense and see what would happen. As eager as she was, she did remember that while she was summoning ghosts, she'd have to catch a few... namely any Alolan native ghosts that floated by. While it would be nice to complete the National Dex in it's entirety, there was only so much time Eline could dedicate to this pet project of hers. Her goal was Zygarde, to complete the legend and reform him to his true self.... Which meant once the incense was done she'd have to get moving to take on the trail then leave Melemele Island.

Finding the path she had to take, Eline glanced to her side, spotting Lithium following along. The vixen disguised as a woman walking around in a heavy looking Kimono kept up rather easily. "Have you ever thought of using an illusion of someone wearing more practical clothes?" Eline inquired. The fox turned her gaze to Eline, seemingly thinking upon the question. "Yes." She replied. "I just haven't had much to go buy for references... what I saw in the city though was rather interesting." She added. Eline figured it was a matter of references. After all one couldn't illusion themselves into something they'd never seen. "Maybe we should hit the mall before going on to the next island?" Eline suggested. "You can pull an outfit from there." Lithium nodded, but then with a grin, she swapped out her heavy looking Kimono for an outfit perfectly identical to Eline's. "Hehe, good taste." Eline chuckled, finger-gunning the fox. She snickered herself. "It's quite breezy around the mid-section." She stated. Eline simply shook her head, grinning at the foxes words. It wasn't like the clothing she was wearing actually made a difference in how cool or warm she was.

As the sun sank low into the sky, a warm breeze met Eline's back. She turned slowly to take in the orange hues that swallowed the sky. Alola was always a wonderful place to be at sunset or sunrise... no matter where you were on the island. But, the sinking sun meant it was going to be nighttime soon. She'd need to set up camp and get a fire going before it got to dark. It could get rather chilly at night, especially with a bunch of ghosts prowling around.

The first Pokemon Tay happened to run into was nothing more than an adorable barking Growlithe. Hardly a challenge. The teen was eager to start her trainers, ushering Vivi forward to take the lead. "Use, Tackle!" She called. Thus the fight began. Avikna in the meantime released Dovakkin from his ball, giving the small dragon a nod. "You're going to be training here for awhile as well." Avikna stated. It didn't take long for Dovakin to put two and two together himself, turning towards the field before them to see Tay mid-battle with her Type: Null, yea, it was easy to tell he'd be training himself. It was time he got stronger. With memories of his mother's strength fresh in his mind.. he knew just who he wanted to aspire to be.
"Oh no!" Avikna's attention was brought to Tay, just as she witnessed Vivi fall. Though disheartened to see her Pokemon fall, the teen did the right thing and continued the battle, calling out Etoile to finish the Growlithe off. Avikna approached the teen, arms loosely crossed just under her chest. "Well, that was unexpected. The Pokemon around here seem relatively weak." Avikna noted. "Vivi, just kept getting flinched." Tay muttered, looking up at Avikna. "What a pathetic Pokemon." Came a voice from afar. Looking up a boy stood above them, arms on his hips. "Why don't you use a few Heart Scales on it? Maybe then it'd be worth something." Tay puffed out her cheeks, but Avikna was the one to step forward. "Do we know you?" She asked with a narrowed gaze. "Not likely. But you will, one day." Offering a cocky little wave, the boy vanished from sight. Avikna let out a deep breath, looking back at Tay to find the girl was actually heeding the boys advice, despite how it was offered. Turns out... they worked. Her only three Heart Scales all vanished once they touched Vivi's helmet. This didn't help his fainted issue however.
Digging through her own bag, the red-head pulled out a revive, offering it to Tay. "Here. It might be awhile before we reach another Pokemon Center." She stated. Not like it wouldn't take but 3 minutes to walk back to Hau'oli city's Pokemon Center or anything. Still, Tay took the revive and used it. Afterwards when Vivi came too, she offered him another Sitrus Berry. In a round-about way he was able to use the juices of the berry to heal himself completely. Standing the Type:Null shook out his body, feeling the newfound power surging through him. He seemed even more eager to continue battling at Tay's side.

With Vivi all healed up and ready to continue fighting, the duo continued more north, until they reached another patch of grass, this one leading to a path that veered off towards the west. A sign nearby mentioned it was a cemetery of some sort. They had no interest in going to such a place, but before they could head back towards the proper route going north, a Spearow swooped down and began cawing fiercely towards Vivi and Tay. Avikna herself was met with a Smeargle, who looked rather unhappy to of been disturbed. Neither were in a battle they could avoid, so Avikna motioned forward Dovakin to handle the Smeargle, while Tay dealt with the Spearow.
One of the moves Vivi learned came in handy right away, being not only super effective against the Spearow, but hitting the Smeargle as well, leaving Dovakin to clean up the flaky painter Pokemon with a simple Tackle. Albeit he was somewhat upset he'd gotten assistance, he still relished in his victory. Tay looked to Avikna with a smile ear to ear. "We make a good team!" She announced. Avikna let a small grin cross her lips before she gave a firm nod. "We do." She replied simply. From there, they continued walking.

Not long after leaving behind the Spearow and Smeargle, Avikna and Tay made their way past what appeared to be a small motel. A random place for a motel, but what was more strange was the single home sitting to the right of the motel. Complete with a white picket fence, and a playground in the backyard... it looked like a typical home of a typical family... from around the 195o's. Whatever the case, a berry field nearby seemed to draw Vivi's attention. The large Pokemon pulled over in that direction, taking Tay with him, but it wasn't a few inches from the entrance to the farm that two Yungoos jumped out hissing at Vivi.
Dovakin was quick to react, getting in a tackle to one of the Yungoos, then hopping out of the way as Vivi summoned an Icy Wind, ending one of the Yungoose. The other hissed at the two Pokemon, leering at them with a fierce gaze. Dovakin thought little of the leer, and quickly ended the Yungoos with a tackle.

Sadly, the Berry farm ended up being a bust. Only a single tree remained as a gathering spot for berries. Nothing of which Vivi or the girls were interested in. Though, directions from the owner of the farm told them they were not far from Verdant Cavern, the place of both the trial and the Gym. Tay grew very excited after hearing this, ready more than ever to begin her trial challenge.
Even more so, they still needed to continue their training for said trial, leaving them to encounter two more wild Pokemon willing to battle. A Makuhita and a... Meowth? Since when where Meowth black? Well this was odd. Whatever the case, the battle began swiftly, and ended just as swiftly. Dovakin and Vivi standing tall.

Before the Meowth in question vanished back into the grass, Avikna asked Tay to scan the creature. It appeared to not be shiny, but in fact a... variant? "Cool, it's like a whole new Meowth." Tay chuckled. Both turned then, heading further north towards the Pokemon center, but then a call from someone nearby drew Tay's attention. To Avikna and Tay they saw what appeared to be a young girl and male standing not to far off. The male seemed quick to correct the girl for her rudeness. But before Avikna could assure him he was right; they were training, Tay rushed over to the monk, eyes filled with excitement as she looked at the Aipom on his shoulder. "I know that Pokemon!" Tay was rather giddy after she'd been affirmed to her knowledge of what Pokemon was on the tall man's shoulder. The ape of which crawled down onto Tay's shoulder which made her even more giddy. Avikna arched a brow to the man's introduction. Not only a monk, but a master monk? Well, perhaps this could pose to be beneficial. Whatever the case, he mentioned he was from Ecruteak, which come to think of it... made sense. How Avikna couldn't of put two and two together, given she was raised in Kanto, which was essentially a sister region to Johto, was likely due to her forced repression of most memories she'd had of her teen and earlier years. Whatever the case, introductions were in order.. she supposed. "Avikna." She replied, haphazardly motioning to herself. She then motioned to Tay, but the Teen was quick to introduce herself. "I'm Tay!" She cooed happily. Joining her at her feet, the teen motioned to the two below her, then to the Type: Null respectively. "This is Cotee, Freya and Vivi." But with the term 'orphan', the brunette looked back to Avikna. She'd heard that word before... when the adults talked about her, when she was present or thought she couldn't hear. "Avikna what does 'orphan' mean?" Avikna's gaze softened some. "It's when someone's parents are dead." Tay's gaze widened some, but instead of frowning, her smile grew wider. "I guess then I'm an orphan too, right?" Avikna nodded. "As far as we know..."
It was then that Chibi stepped between them, approaching Vivi. The Type: Null arched his head back for a moment, if only to turn his gaze to get a better look at the one who was approaching him. Tay twirled around, approaching Vivi's side. The odd Pokemon lowered his head then into Tay's hands. "He's called 'Type: Null, apparently, but I call him Vivi." Tay stated, reintroducing the odd creature."I don't know much about him, but Avikna and I saved him from some bad men." Vivi seemed to coo at Tay's touch as she scratched below the heavy helmet on his head. "I've tried to get this helmet off of him so I can see his face, but it's impossible to remove... I can't imagine why anyone would do something so mean to a Pokemon." Tay oblivious feelings, were... cute in way. Avikna however didn't know anything more than Tay did on the Pokemon, so it wasn't as though she could correct her.
Even still, it seemed their small little break in training wasn't to last long, as another couple of Pokemon appeared from the brush nearby, hissing and crying out in a challenging tone. Vivi lifted his head away from Tay and turned towards the two who'd approached. Dovakin himself went to Vivi's side, eager to battle once more. Their battle was quick and decisive, though Vivi was struck with his own move, sketched by a Smeargle, Dovakin came in and tackled the Smeargle, ending the battle, allowing Vivi to recover his senses. Tay quickly rushed to his side, and began pulling out potions to spray on side, where the attack had hit. Dovakin in the meantime stood tall, looking out for any more would-be challengers.

The second rodent Pokemon reminded him somewhat of its evolution Richu but it had many key differences too. Maybe it was another regional variation? Like that black Rattata, he'd fought before. It was hard to decern the difference between a Pokemon with an off coloration and a regional variant.
As for this "Type: Null" he was almost as curious to learn about it as Chibi was. It had a most interesting name and Saru couldn't get a clear read for its aura either. It felt ... off somehow. Like it was in a constant state of flux. He was also curious to learn if Team skull had been the one to incase its head in that cage. It seemed a little out of their league to create something that couldn't be opened but he didn't dismiss it as impossible.
Saru knelt beside the Type: Null to examine the mask, a hand pressed to his chin while shifting the covered blade of his staff-spear high over Tay's head so Aipom could take hold the shaft and be returned to his shoulders. Chibi loomed over his master's shoulders watching tentatively but neither could examine the cage for long enough before the Type: Null was pulled away to battle. Saru focused his aura but could sense no pain from the creature due to the mask. "Interesting." The monk said just as a duo of Pokemon stepped in to challenge him as well. ~
"That's it! That's it!" Chibi yelped jumping up and down like a cheerleader before rushing to one of the defeated Pokemon scooping it up and bringing it back to Saru. It was the yellow bug-type. "This is the one I want!" Pansear and Panpour had climbed up to join Aipom on their trainer's shoulders or hang off the rings that jiggled on the guard of the staff-spear he carried with. The defeated Pokemon, A Cutiefly, awoke to find Chibi beaming at it excitedly. "Are you sure?" Chibi nobbed and so Saru handed the boy a Pokeball. "It's your responsibility now than.""Yes sir!"

Tay was eager to watch Vivi battle against the duet who'd attacked them, but when the battle ended she quickly noticed Saru's Pokemon also taking on a duet of Pokemon, one of which Chibi went head-over-heels for. Tay approached, wide-eyed and all smiles. "It's so cute!" She exclaimed, just before Saru handed Chibi a ball so the young would-be trainer to capture the cute little Pokemon. "Con-grat-u-lations" The brunette cheered with some mild struggle to pronounce such a large word. To capture a Pokemon one wanted, it was an amazing feeling. Tay herself received her first official Pokemon from the Professor, that being Elias, her now Dartrix. "What are you going to name it?" Tay wondered, still very much curious.
Meanwhile, Dovakin spotted another foe. Rather, a passing Yungoos on the search for food, but as he sounded what could of been mistaken for barks, an Abra appeared as if t defend the wandering rodent. Vivi turned his head, calling forth a beam of light, green in hue, that struck the Abra knocking it out instantly. Dovakin was then able to deal with the Yungoos, but ultimately Vivi concrued the rodent with another use of Signal Beam.

The boy could hadly stand still. Practically spinning in place cheering, holding the ball above his head triumphantly. Saru couldn't exactly scold him for being excited. He just wished the boy would calm down a little before he hurt someone flailing about. Thankfully young Tay caught his attention, and Saru's when she stressed the pronunciation of a word. That made twice now she'd hinted at some sort of ... mental failing perhaps? He stepped into the elder of the two. "I don't mean to be rude, but is she~' He pointed to his forehead so not to alert the youths of his inquiry.
Meanwhile, Chibi had released the Cutiefly and was now watching it zig-zag back and forth in the air just out of reach as he replied to Tay. "I don't know~" The boy began shrinking and storing the Pokeball into the hidden pocket in the sleeve of his robes. "Master Saru says names can hold power over the bestowed" He looked to Saru considering the names given to his Pan-trio. Chibi pointed each out and named then in turn. "Kikazaru, Mizaru, & Iwazaru is still in its ball." He did this sort of absentmindedly without considering the names probably meant little to nothing to anyone else. "Maybe Mì táng. It means honey.' He explained to Tay.
As if on cue to its name the Cutiefly landed on its new trainers head. Chibi giggled reaching for to take hold of the bug but it was air born before he could. Only returning once Chibi's arms were back down. "Well, Mì táng it is then."

►Saru had long set on imprinting upon Chibi the same set of skills and teachings set upon him at youth. These including reading, writing, mathematics, herbology, philosophy, meditation, and finally self-defense. Each day was devoted to a different branch of his educations. They were studying the ladder of the seven today. Chibi was still young and new to the monastery's teaching and so had had very little in the way of a formal education. It made teaching easier but also meant he was responsible for setting down the foundation of information he would need to function in society. 
►Of the introduced Pokemon, Saru only recognized the Pikachu, thought its plum red coloration did make him take a double look to be sure it was, in fact, a Pikachu. The second rodent Pokemon reminded him somewhat of its evolution Richu but it had many key differences too. Maybe it was another regional variation? Like that black Rattata, he'd fought before. It was hard to decern the difference between a Pokemon with an off coloration and a regional variant.
