[~ @Aldaine / Cyrus ~]

The tent suddenly started to come crashing down, and the two inside fumbled about for a moment as the sounds of confused yarping hounds could be heard. Just a moment later, two canines would come charging out from under the tent, a large Coyote, and a thick Hyena. They looked about for a moment in confusion before locking eyes on the two guards heading their way. Looking at each other for a moment, the two turned away from the guards and started to charge deeper into the woods, splitting up as they reached the tree line, as if they were going to try and escape into the forest.

[~ @Cloaked Figure ~]

Keeping a keen out over the encampment, the Grey Hooded Archer sat haphazardly in the snow as she sat in the trees leaning against the trunk. The snow was rushing wildly, and it was fairly cold out, but she had been partially shifted and was being kept warm enough by the fur that covered her body. The snow prevented her from hearing much, unfortunately but when her squared eyes suddenly noticed brushed movement in the distance, she quickly stood upon the branch, and readied her bow. Looking down, she didn’t know what to expect, especially when all she saw at first was the blur of a single hooded figure darting in towards the camp. "Hooooo?" She would let out lightly when he struck at their tent, and then took off in the wind as if he was going to try and lure them somewhere. It took another moment for her to see the two guards running up behind him, and then she had an inkling of understanding at what just happened. She wondered what the hooded one was up to, and after her colleagues started to escape into the forest with the two guards in tow, she decided to play with this one for a bit. When the hooded one stopped in the distance to stay hidden and watch from the shadows, the Grey Hooded Archer nocked an arrow, pointed her bow at the hooded figure, she let it fly…

Almost as though realising they had made the error of not being discrete enough in their 'retreat,' the trail seemed to become slightly less easier to follow and the pair found themselves forced to scrutinise their surroundings more closely which in turn caused them to slow a little more... Their patience - it appeared - would soon be rewarded however as keen eyes quickly began to note the outline of a makeshift camp ahead of them...

Even if he hadn't spotted the ropes that had once held their shelters upright, the Tiger would most certainly have heard the commotion as yips and startled yowls reached his ears and those who had been jolted awake by their tents collapsing down upon them scrambled to escape their confines before making a break for it...

With escaping prey driving his instincts to give chase - yet a new title also forcing him to curb his urge to pursue them without first thinking it through, Cyrus had to hold himself back from wanting to charge after the fleeing individuals immediately - For one thing, he couldn't quite make out who or what they were, nor did he know if they were infact the enemy or just hapless shifters caught out in the cold... but with the chance that they were somehow the remnants of the assailants who had so cruelly slaughtered the innocent civilians those months before, he knew that it would be foolish to let them just run without first obtaining something in the way of answers... Either way, they would have to decide fast...

With this in mind, the Tiger's amber eyes flicked towards his comrade as though enquiring whether or not he was willing to chase down one of the two canines, or let them escape...

Of course, he hoped he knew the Jaguar's decision ahead of his answer and in that case Cyrus would once again take on his Shifter Form - if Aldaine decided that it was worth perhaps inspecting the camp first instead, then the Tiger would oblige using his senses to track down any evidence he could...

There would be little time wasted if the Jaguar agreed to throw caution to the wind and join his Lieutenant in chasing down one of the two fleeing individuals - It could still be a trap, but Cyrus would allow his comrade to choose his target before charging after the second...

Eoana City Guard || Aldaine De'Fraye
[Where:] Forest [With:] Cyrus [Feeling:] Focused, energetic [Outfit:] Cloaked light armour, unmasked
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

Aldaine and Cyrus had spent a good while following the trail, but as they walked, it seemed to become less obvious as time passed and their delved deeper into the forest. Aldaine kept vigilant, his eyes on every angle within the reach of his gaze. Aldaine wasn’t sure what their little friend was up too, but there was an air about all of this that did not sit well with him. For one, it didn’t seem to make any sense. First the b*****d makes the trail so obvious even a child could follow it, now it became nearly as invisible as a moth in a snowstorm? What the hell was this, some sort of game? What the individual they were pursuing truly that much of a naïve, immature fool?

A sudden yelp brought Aldaine out of his thoughts as he looked forward. It was then he noticed a camp in the distance, with a tent just recently collapsed with two figures shuffling their way out of it. He saw a wold and hyena jolt from the tent and notice them. Upon making eye contact, the two ran deeper into the forest. Aldaine froze for a second. Those scents…he recognised those scents…he made sure to engrave them into his mind since that day two months ago. Upon his realisation, his gaze darkened. It was them. The extremists. He’d found them, or more accurately, it seemed he had been led to them. Whether the two guards shady friend had led them here directly or indirectly, it didn’t matter. This was Aldaine’s chance. His chance to start making amends to the lives in Eoana he had inadvertently ruined. To avenge their loved ones, to avenge Reynard… However, he wouldn’t go running in this time. No. This time he wasn’t going to die. The only ones whose life was forfeit…was theirs!

His attention was grabbed when he saw an arrow shoot from above, amidst the branches of the trees. His eyes briefly followed the trail of where the arrow landed, but he could see nothing of any recognisable importance. Regardless, Aldaine glanced towards Cyrus and hastily whispered, “Archer in the trees! Take cover quickly!” Aldaine silently dashed behind a nearby trunk, instructing Cyrus to do the same. It seemed the camp had a lookout. An archer of all things. If it was the grey hooded archer from the day of the attack Aldaine was preoccupied with, then this would be all the more interesting. He owed that little b***h some payback. But of course he would stick to his initial plan. Her death, or indeed the deaths of the others would not be easy, He wanted to hear them beg for mercy, but for the archer in particular, oh, how Aldaine felt a longing to hear the little whore squeal. But for now, he would stifle his lust to cause them pain and focus on the task at hand. Two of the members of the camp were making their escape and they had an archer blocking their path, as well as the intruder at the barracks to worry about. It was then, Aldaine decided on a plan and whispered over to Cyrus. The seriousness of the situation had not escaped him, such acknowledgement was made evident in his words”We won’t be able to follow them with that archer in our way. We’ll need to deal with her first, the two who ran by be running to warn others, or lead us into an ambush.” Admittedly, part of Aldaine was scared. But what other choice was there? They couldn’t just let these criminals. Even so, this was a life or death situation. That fact alone was enough of a reason to not let Cyrus go anywhere Aldaine couldn't see him. There wasn't a chance in hell he was letting Cyrus go on alone. Whatever move they made next, they did it in unison. “If that archer is the same one I encountered on the day of the attack, then she’ll be trouble. She’s quick on her feet and likes to fight at a distance. She seems to be preoccupied shooting at something, though I can’t tell who or what it is. We can take this opportunity to flank her and take her by surprised…” Aldaine looked at Cyrus to see what he thought of the plan…

If it wasn’t for his keen sense of hearing and the fact that the wind was blowing harder than ever, the arrow that the shifter shot at him might have hit home. Luckily for him, his senses were keen, and he had the survival instincts of a soldier ingrained in him to his core. Jumping out of the way, he whirled and watched as the arrow embedded itself into the trunk of the tree he stood against. Gaze quickly scanning, he caught sight of the archer in the tree. “Pest.” He muttered, his lip curling in disgust at the sight of the shifter perched high in the branches. The only way to take the shifter down would be to get her out of the tree or to go up to get her – both options were equally irksome.

Confident that the Tiger and the Jaguar would pursue the other extremists, he turned his full attention to the Archer. As quick as a shadow, he moved through the trees, zigzagging closer and closer to the tree the shifter occupied. Any arrows she aimed his way, he avoided, moving out of the way as quickly as possible until the was at the very base of the tree. If the tree had been dead, he would have tried something akin to shoving it over, but there would be no such luck – she resided in a tall, healthy tree. But, luckily for him, that tree had dozens of thick branches that would block him from view as he climbed up toward her.

Removing his gloves, he looked up the length of the tree and narrowed his gaze. Taking a few seconds, he shifted his hands into mighty bear claws, and began his climb, all the while keeping a keep eye on the archer as his grip strong as he went higher and higher toward his target...

[~ @Aldaine / Cyrus ~]

It seemed there was some hesitation on the part of their pursuers, not something they would expect, by the Coyote and Hyena wouldn't let the opportunity escape them, running full sprint into the heavy snowfall, they scattered left and right, separating to further throw off any pursuers as they continued to escape further into the forest, regaining their composure and trying to avoid the guards.

[~ @Cloaked Figure ~]

"Hmmm" The Grey Hooded Archer let out as she narrowed her eyes slightly, watching as the hooded one charge at her. His movement was sporadic, and she was impressed with how easily he used the trees for cover. She let out a slightly ecstatic laugh as he started to climb up her tree, knowing he wouldn't bore her as she continued to play with him. Laughing then, she bent down lightly, widening her eyes and taking in all of the trees around her, their branches, their locations, their distances, their widths and sizes, and then WHOOSH! She was gone. The branch that she stood on vibrated back and forth a bit as it settled down, and high in the air, the Grey Hooded Archer could be seen for a brief moment before she rustled into the bare branches of another tree, landing on a slightly warped branch and turning to face her pursuing. Having jumped from one tree to the next, she smiled lightly and chuckled wanting to see what he would do. She didn't even draw her bow, not seeing a reason to just yet. She was having too much fun.

The Tiger's eyes had focused upon the fleeing enemy until they were torn from their target by a shout from Aldaine about the Archer - Of Course there would be sentry! If these were by any means connected to those who had attacked the Festival those months before, then they had to be brought down! But first, he needed to evade any possible assault - and that meant losing sight of the creature he'd locked onto...

Although the Jaguar's words made sense, the Archer seemed somewhat preoccupied with perhaps the only other soul to pass them by? Whomever the intruder was, he'd drawn the Shifter's attention more than enough to leave her distracted - and although it would be wise to take advantage of this, when she suddenly disappeared, Cyrus turned his attention back towards the canines who were nearly almost out of sight by now...

There was a chance that the archer would still be able to shoot him from wherever she'd reappeared, but with their initial targets disappearing, the Tiger found a growing urge to follow his instincts and so taking on his Shifter Form, Cyrus would lunge forward - his black coat giving him a sort of camouflaged effect through the undergrowth.

If Aldaine joined him, the Tiger would speed onward, banking off to the right as he pursued the nearest trail - turning as it veered away from its partner in an attempt to throw off the pursuing guards. Large paws seemed to carry him across the snow with little effort but where the powder was still quite soft, there were places where even he found it hard to negotiate allowing the enemy chance to pull further ahead - Eventually, Cyrus' eyes would pick out the bumbling form of the Hyena and his pace would quicken as fast as the snow would allow...He wasn't going to lose him this time.

As Aldaine observed the area, he narrowed his gaze as he noticed a hooded figure move amidst the trees. Aldaine assumed that it could be the infiltrator at the barracks Cyrus mentioned. However, oddly, he, or she as the distance between them made it difficult to discern for Aldaine, had shifted their hands into bear claws and began climbing a nearby tree. Eyes widening in understanding, Aldaine hummed to himself quietly. So…that must have been the tree where the archer was. Aldaine’s ears perked as he looked but, seeing bustling in the branches, leaves being disturbed and falling as a result. It seemed that the two guards may have found a, potential, common ground with this mysterious figure Aldaine saw before. While they still needed to find him or her to bring them in, he decided that it was unwise to waste the advantage granted to them. Pulling his hood and mask up, he looked at Cyrus and nodded.

Cyrus raced on ahead, banking to the right in pursuit of the Hyena. Aldaine shot out from his own piece of cover, shifting into his jaguar form as he raced off to the left in pursuit of the coyote. He wouldn’t let them get away. Not this time.

As he ran, he could hear the panting of the coyote as he was catching up to it. The snow may have been deep in some areas, but Aldaine would not let that deter him. He raced om, brust threw and successfully manoeuvring around the anything that stood in his way as he began closing in on his target.

He was gaining on the archer, but he knew damn well that she wasn’t going to make this easy for him. The moment he felt the tree shake, he knew exactly what she’d done – jumped over to a nearby tree. What he wouldn’t give for a bow and some arrows! He’d wipe that smug smile off her face with one well placed arrow…But no, all he had were the daggers and his sword and it wouldn’t be smart to throw his weapons at the shifter, at least not at this point.

Narrowing his gaze, he growled low. Without any further hesitation, he shifted into a snow leopard and climbed up onto the largest branch he could find. Gripping the branch, he narrowed his gaze on the girl and rolled his shoulders as he prepared to pounce. ‘I was hoping to have some goat for dinner…’ He thought with a fanged grin as he leapt from one tree to the next. He’d aimed for the branch above the shifter, wanting to force her down and out of the tree – worst case scenario, he’d miss the branch or break it and come crashing down on the shifter below.

Unfortunately for him, Lady Luck was not smiling down on him and as he connected with the large branch he was aiming for, he caught it, but his substantial weight snapped it and caused his bulk to slip and come crashing down. If the shifter was smart, she’d quickly jump out of the way. If she wasn’t quick enough however, and if he was lucky, he’d slam into her and earn a chance to claw at her…

((Roll 100 sided-die, 1-50 -miss the branch and break it, 51-100 – Land on the branch solidly))

Eyes narrowing as he focused on the task at hand, the Tiger's breath and steps became one motion - with each exhale, his large paws slammed into the snow, claws catching on the frozen earth beneath and dragging him ever closer towards his target...

It started off as a flicker - a flash of red like a bolt of lightning from who knows where flitting across his vision... Having not expected anything even remotely similar for many days to come, Cyrus would momentarily break his stride, questioning the occurrence and closing his eyes briefly as he shook off the sensation before looking up towards the retreating Hyena... He'd experienced this in the past - a sign of what was to come, but never before time...or without prior warning...What was going on?

Knowing Aldaine would no doubt be gaining on his own target by now and well aware that these shifters needed to be brought before the Court Mages to answer for their crimes, the Tiger was reluctant to just call off the chase on a whim - fearing it could jeopardize the last chance they had to get answers before the murderers disappeared altogether...but with the signs...was he not just playing a more dangerous game by continuing on?

Cyrus was rarely the type to decide against his better judgement - especially with the knowledge that 'first-signs' meant volumes when it came to keeping those he cared about safe...but with everything that these men had done and the information they could gain if they were successfully detained...the Tiger couldn't fight the feeling that there was more to lose if he didn't chase this creature down and instead chose to ignore his instincts, starting off after his target once more...

Eyes narrowing on the Shifter's lolloping hide Cyrus would put on a burst of speed, driving his way through the snow like it was no obstacle as he regained the pace he had originally lost due to his uncertainty... Within seconds he would be right behind the Shifter...so close he could smell the scent of the Hyena's copper-tainted fur...to feel the fleeting heat from its breath as it crystallised upon the air... Cyrus' ears swiveled forward, focusing on the creature before him, prey-drive kicking in... Somewhere in the back of his mind, the Tiger now became aware of how his heart seemed to pound within his chest, adrenaline flowing more quickly through his veins...but with duty in mind, he couldn't let trepidation slow him again...not while he was so close to bringing the enemy down...

The sensation was almost as though a spark had been struck and a flame had ignited, taking its hold upon something highly combustible and not letting it go... Cyrus' vision seemed to falter, taking on a reddish hue as his eyes focused not just on the Shifter, but upon its pounding heart, how it breathed, how it moved...Senses becoming more acute as they picked out points of attack... "No...! It's Not Time!" With a guttural roar escaping his maw, Cyrus felt his own consciousness slip into the back-seat as the Feral Beast lunged forth to close the gap between them - The Shifter could do little than watch through the eyes of his own subconsciousness as the Black Tiger reached out with it mighty paws in an attempt to trip his prey and bring it crashing to the ground...

Eoana City Guard || Aldaine De'Fraye
[Where:] Forest [With:] Cyrus [Feeling:] Excited, Contemplative, Focused [Outfit:] Cloaked light armour, masked
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

The chase into the forest continued with Aldaine homing in on his prey. The Coyote was within sight, so close Aldaine could almost smell the heavy perspiration of his opponent. Aldaine new his limits, he could give chase to this little doggy for quite some time, however, it begged the question, how long could the shifted extremist keep this up? After all, he could only run for so long...but even acknowledging that fact, Aldaine didn’t mind, otherwise what fun would there be? This…this was far more motivating, closing in on his enemy, inhaling the crisp cool winter air as he sprinted through the derelict woods with such determined zeal…if re-ignited the fire in him, set his blood aflame, made him feel alive! When he was a boy, Aldaine always used to assume that “fun” wasn’t something that came to mind when exacting revenge on others, or merely revelling in the bloodshed of your enemies. However, when he contemplated on it now…when he conjured the images of the extremists bloody, mangled corpses after he’d had his “time” with them…he couldn’t help the smile that donned his face.

Aldaine’s flickering golden eyes focused in on the coyote shifter’s hide quarters, examining every movement, every flex of the muscle, analysing whether the movements of bone and muscle remained strong or showed signs of slowing down. Hopefully it was the latter, and if such was the case, the coyote would be running out of breath at that point and if and when that happened, Aldaine would have his chance.

Suddenly, a curious little idea popped into Aldaine’s head. Glancing at the trees around him, he mentally kicked himself for not taking in the obvious advantages of his environment sooner. Damn, guard duty in the city had put him out of practise, if he were still in the Trendelonian military, he’d have acknowledged such as factor by now. They were in the middle of a bloody forest, and as far as natural habitats for animals go, the forest happened to be a jaguar’s homely domain. Aldaine then grinned to himself as he formulated a game plan. Shooting to the right at lightening speed, off the path the extremist was running, he would hide himself in the brush while still following the extremist. While the thought if Gerot aggravated Aldaine immensely, he be remised if he didn’t admit that the old assassin’s training didn’t come in handy. Even through what other would consider a blinding brush, Aldaine still have a clear enough view and focus on his target, giving him the advantage of seeing his target while his target was incapable of seeing him. From there it was simple really, all he had to do was focus on the little canine’s scent, as well as his foes’ accented panting as Aldaine gave further chase. Once his foe exhausted himself, he could put his plan into action.

However, Aldaine would approach with caution as always. This would NOT be a repeat of the attack two months ago. Back then, he was an emotionally unstable mess, but now…now things were different. He wasn’t going to let anything get thing get in his way or deter him from this road he had now chosen to walk. After all…he made a vow that day at the memorial ceremony…

…Arthur, Gerot, the extremists…they all had to die…

[~ @Cloaked Figure ~]

Watching carefully with narrowed eyes and a gleeful smile, the Grey Hooded Archer tilted her head as the Cloaked Figure suddenly shifted into what looked like a leopard and started to climb a nearby tree. She was about to draw her bow again, however when he crouched into a pouncing position, her curiosity had gotten the best of her, and she purposefully waited to see what he would do, happily giggling and smiling the entire time. He leaped, high and far, enough to impress even her of his athleticism, however the tree’s branch would not stand up to this… expectation. Tearing and cracking midway through, the branch gave way and the shifter was now falling right at her. With a light giggling laugh the shifter did not hesitate. She jumped towards the tree’s trunk, bringing her hoofed feet up to land and then kick off of the trunk of the tree in the shifter’s direction right as he fell to about her height where she had been standing before, and brought her feet up for a powerful kick at his side that would bring the both of them out of the tree’s branches all together and crashing down towards the ground. Whether connecting or not, the force of which she pushed off of the tree was fierce and would shoot her barreling out of the branches feet first, before landing on the ground and sliding in the snow to a stop. As she caught her footing, she would immediately draw her bow and turn towards her target, holding on arrow on him as she smiled gleefully and narrowed her eyes in his direction.

[~ @Cyrus ~]

The Hyena ran as fast as he possibly could, but it would seem he drew the short stick today. With the much larger beast heavy on his tail, the Hyena was quickly outpaced and knew he it was only a matter of time before the tiger caught up to him. Even as he darted left and right and zigged and zagged away from him, the agility of the great feline was much greater than his own. Even the falling of the heavy snow was to his disadvantage. Every step was another step closer, even as he ran further still, the gap between them only seemed to close, and the Hyena started to feel the his heart beat hard in his chest. As the tiger drew closer, there was only really one thing he could do, so he waited and prepared, and just as the tiger pounced to reach him, the Hyena dove to the ground, rolling onto his back as he shifted back into the Black Hooded Humanoid Rogue that he was, quickly pulling a short blade before driving it up at the tiger. If he was lucky, the tiger’s own weight would dear down upon his blade, wounding him and giving him an edge in the coming fight. For facing this beast of the guard was all he could do, since outrunning him was out of the question.

[~ @Aldaine ~]

As the Coyote sprinted forward, he seemed to be making a good pace away from his pursuer, and continued to run hastily through the snow. If there was anything he had to his benefit, it was his great stamina and agility, however after a while he couldn’t sense his pursuer any longer. Coming to a stop briefly, the Coyote felt his fur stand up on end. Something wasn’t right. It seemed as though no one was following him anymore, but his instincts told him not to let his guard down. Narrowing his eyes lightly he looked back and felt the wind gently blow across his face from the east. 'Of course…' He thought before he started to run in the same direction of the wind for a moment. After a few short strides he started to angle left ever so slightly, running completely downwind and curving slowly towards the left in a wide arc. He didn’t know if there was still anyone out there chasing him, but he had to try. As he continued to run in a large arc, slowly, he would start to catch a hint of a feint smell in the air, the smell of a predator, such as one that might had been given chase just moments before. He did not know where he was, but now he knew he was not alone. Stopping then, and turning in the general direction of his pursuer. The Coyote shifted back into the Red Cloaked Soldier that he was, before drawing a sword off of his back and standing firm. He knew now that he wasn’t alone, but he also knew another piece of valuable information. His pursuer was… Now standing in the blowing snow, the Red Cloaked Soldier stood ready to face his pursuer, challenging him to come forth and finish what he started…

Though the creature before him wove this way and that, the Tiger would maintain its course, only altering his step to match his prey as narrowed eyes focused upon the Hyena's retreating hide - As feral claws reached out to trip the Shifter, Cyrus watched as the creature appeared to dive for the ground, changing forms as they came to a stop flat on their back...

Having crossed paths with these individuals before, Cyrus could only watch and wait for the move that would inevitably tear him asunder - but rather than follow through with the move that would most likely have left him with a debilitating injury, the Feral Consciousness seemed to jam on the anchors and bow forward slightly on its front paws, putting the rest of its pent-up energy into its hind legs which in turn sprung upward and sent the Shifter sailing high over the outstretched blade...

To the Tiger Shifter's surprise, they would land safely on the other side of the enemy - using the Feline's mighty paws to twist round so he was now facing the Black Hooded individual as they lay in the snow with their blade held aloft... Knowing how easily he could have been badly wounded, Cyrus started to count his luck, feeling a the overpowering urge to charge forward and rip his opponent apart whilst he was down, but something held the creature back... Instead, his Feral side would watch from the brief distance between to perhaps see what the Shifter would do next?

Depending on the Hooded Figure's next move, Cyrus knew he would be forced to watch as the creature either gave chase once more - the thrill of the hunt willing the beast to pursue - or perhaps lunge with his mighty claws, slashing at the assailant if they chose instead to take the opportunity to attack...

Eoana City Guard || Aldaine De'Fraye
[Where:] Forest [With:] Cyrus [Feeling:] Focused [Outfit:] Cloaked light armour, masked
[OOC:]
╔═══════════════════

Aldaine grinned to himself as he observed the coyote hesitant and pull his antics. His grin widened as he realised what the coyote was doing. He was making sure he was downwind. Examining the extremists facial expressions and generally tense gestures, Aldaine knew that the extremist was aware of his presence. Unfortunately for him, while he was positioning himself downwind, Aldaine had already taken the chance, while the extremist’s attention was diverted, to silently climb his way to the branches above and manoeuvring his way towards the extremist’s position. He moved gracefully, each step as slow and silent as the last so as not to give away his positions. Once in position he’d have a better look at what his canine friend was going to do next. Looming above the now red cloaked soldier, Aldaine decided it was time to shift back to his human form.

Now clad in his light armour, his hood and mask still donned, he slowly drew Reynard’s sword from his waist. He gazed as the red cloaked soldier stood firm and ready, his sword drawn. “Hmph seems he’s finally grown a pair… Aldaine would have to make this quick, after all Cyrus was still out there and the tiger’s frustrated and intense growls did not escape Aldaine before the second lieutenant was out of earshot. With what he knew about Cyrus’ raiment and the way the tiger shifter reacted to the full moon, Aldaine deduced that there was a chance that there may be a full moon tonight and if that was the case, Aldaine would certainly have his hands full. Regardless, he needed to deal with the red cloaked soldier first. Aldaine decided to wait a little longer, let silence fall on the scene. Gods, how long had it been since he felt like this? How he loved to toy with his prey? The jaguar’s gaze softened during that time, as he simply stared at the extremist below him. He calmed his senses as he took in the sounds around him, the blowing of the wind, the rustling of the grass, the combined breathing of himself and the soldier below. Such sounds, Aldaine found, heightened his focus and awareness, it steadied the tension in his muscles and soothed his senses. Aldaine pondered as to whether he should bring this little doggy back alive or kill him. While he wanted nothing more than to torture this pathetic slime to death, he considered that the soldier could very well have useful information that they could get out of him back at HQ. What would Reynard have done? If Aldaine knew the fox shifter…he’d have wanted things to be handled logically…and the logical thing to do was to bring the b*****d back for interrogation at HQ. With that his mind was made up.

After a few minutes, Aldaine decided he had waited long enough. Exhaling quietly, he silently thought to himself. “Now it begins…” With that, Aldaine launched himself from the branch down towards the soldier, his sword ready to strike at the b*****d’s sword arm, if he could manage to disable the soldier, make him weaker, it would be a significant advantage. Regardless, there was no turning back now. Whatever the result, Aldaine wasn’t leaving this forest without Cyrus and these extremists. With that, when he came within range of the soldier, with full force, he swung his sword forward towards that soldier’s elbow…

Fudging dead branches. The SNAP of the branch wasn’t as annoying as the subsequent fall that came along with it. Helpless to do anything aside from reach for other branches to break his fall, he could only watch as the goat shifter female jumped toward the tree trunk only to use it to push off of it and toward him.

Doing what he could to twist his torso to at least lessen the impact of her hooved feet, it wasn’t enough to save him from her blow – albeit he avoided the worst of her force. Feeling the air getting knocked out of him in a rush, he went plummeting towards the ground. Luckily for him, his animal instincts were exceptionally sharp – thank you cat-like reflexes! – and he was able to somewhat land and tumble. Moving into a crouched defensive position, he growled low, his fangs and gums bared as he locked onto the archer.

Despite being the predator in this scenario, his prey was toying with him. This was why he hated ranged fighters. Those damn arrows were nothing more than a nuisance and one that he wanted gone. Flexing his claws, he kept his slitted gaze on her and made his move…

Their battle would last far longer than he would have liked, stretching on and moving through the forest for a stretch that left tracks that even a child would be able to discern, but it didn’t matter. In the end, the deed was done, the mission accomplished, and the mysteriously cloaked figure’s presence made known to those who needed to know of his existence…
