Yamcha loses against Hero, but Goku knows that Hero is really Kami in disguise. The match between Goku and Tien begins and it is even more intense than last time.

As the fight between Goku and Tien continued, Goku reveals that he was wearing weighted clothing. When removed, Goku was so fast that he was able to take Tien's belt without him knowing.
Everyone has a good laugh about it, but then after putting his belt back on, Tien reveals that he has another technique to show Goku. That technique will be shown next episode.

Tien uses the multi split technique, which creates 4 of himself. The problem is that it divides the power of the user. Goku sees this and defeats Tien.

Kami disguised as Hero faces Piccolo, but his attempt to use the evil containment wave fails and after splitting from Hero's body, Kami is sealed within a bottle.

The match between Piccolo and Goku begins after Goku explains who Piccolo is and who Kami is. It doesn't look good for Goku though.

Recovering from Piccolo's multi ki blast attack, Goku lands a direct hit with his super kamehameha thinking that even if Kami should die, the dragon balls would be there to save the day.

In an attempt to scare everyone into a panic, which worked, Junior announces that he is King Piccolo reincarnated and once he is done with Goku then his reign of terror will resume. He even made himself into a giant to be that much more intimidating. Goku just thinks Piccolo is now just a big target.

Goku retrieves the bottle that Kami was trapped in, and then Piccolo shrinks back to his old size and the fighting resumes until a frustrated Piccolo begins to draw in enormous power which causes Goku to demand of his friends to clear the area.

Piccolo unleashes an attack that levels the island. Tien made a hole for Goku's friends to hide in to be safe. Goku nearly wins, but then Piccolo unleashes a beam that nearly strikes Goku's heart. But Goku is still in this.

After getting severely wounded, Goku manages to get Junior out of the ring, thus becoming champion. Goku also found a decent rival in Piccolo so he healed Piccolo with a senzu bean after Goku himself was healed with one. Piccolo flies off vowing revenge, but Goku takes Chichi by the hand, calls for his flying nimbus and flies off with her to who knows where.

Goku and Chichi land in Ox Village where they announce their engagement. The Ox King reveals a stunning dress for Chichi to wear, but soon after, the castle is engulfed in flames. So, Goku and Chichi along with Fortune teller Baba go out in search of the Banshao fan, which the clue with how to make it is at Master Roshi's place.

Still searching for the banshao fan, Goku and Chichi must try and obtain a fire eater's feather, but the old scientist who lived on the island where the fire eaters lived told them that was a fool's errand and the true banshao fan is trapped in an iceburg to the North.

Finding a mountain that creates a blizzard everytime a woman approaches it, Chichi helps a woman named Octagon who has the banshao fan but doesn't realize it. Goku tries to get some ice from the mountain running into emperor pilaf while doing so, but the ice ends up melting before he could get back to Octagon's place. When they take the fan to the castle and the flames refuse to go out, Goku wonders just how they are going to put out those flames.
