The Naumend Motel

"It wont hurt, compared to what you have been through, don't worry," said he in a soft voice.

"Okay..."

Paper leaned in closer and wouldn't move her eyes from Black's own.

"I consent," she whispered.

"Alright," said black now also straing into Papers eyes. Suddenly the blade turned to a ghastly green and burned a giant scar into the left arm of Black's.Then a cool pink went into Paper's body making all of her happy memories come up and making the bad ones seem less horrible.

"Well, I hope this helps, im sure you're tired you can use my bed for the night, or I will escort you to your room, whichever you prefer," Black said this with somthing nagging at him.

He could have done it once she touched the blade, and he usually never waited for the other party to consent so why had he done so here.

Paper felt as if an ocean wave hit her, she didn't feel overcome or out of control, it wasn't as if it hit her, but like it went through her and stayed there. It lingered and just seemed to cradle her.

She sighed and one single tear cascaded down her cheek with the wondrous memories and feelings, flooding through her.

Paper could only breathe for a moment when she looked to Black's left arm.

"Oh," she exhaled. "...Will you always have that scar, Black?"

At the same time Black offered his bed for the evening, or an escort back to her own. "I...I dunno. I don't want to be alone right now, especially with the storm outside..."

"The answer to your first question is yes, it will be my way to remember, and then you had best stay with me for the night you are welcomed to use my bed," said black now sitting beside her.

Something Has Happened
The Motel is still into a heavy rainstorm and the water level is steadily increasing. Lightning and thunder can be see and heard closer to the Motel.

The parkinglot:
Covered in nearly 5 inches of rain and will be gaining an additional 3 inches per hour. The small crack in the parkinglot has now become a medium-sized crater, about 2 feet in diameter and is filled with water like the rest of the parkinglot.

The rooms:
Water has now crept well into the hallway and is heavily dampening the carpet near the room doors.

Praline:
Still not in the main office or her room.

" This is getting serious," black thougt to himself. He got up and brought the phone over to where he was sitting and called Praline's office to no avail. Also he tried her room and got nothing. " This is bad as long as I keep Paper calm we should be fine," thought he.

Paper folded her hands, put them in her lap and kept her gaze to them. Suddenly she felt shy. As if Black had seen her naked. But in a way, what had just happened between them was much more personal.

When Black sat down beside her, and Paper felt the weight of him on the mattress she suddenly became very aware of him as a man. And that made her blush pretty bad.

Suddenly a lightning flash came, and it was so bright it distracted her from the immediate setting.
She began to count in her head and when she heard the thunder she knew how close the lightning was.

"Black," she whispered. "The lightning was only 3 miles away. If this Motel really is the only thing for a while, it may hit us here."

Something Has Happened
The plumbing in the laundrymat has backed up and the washers have filled with dark water. They're nearly to the point of overflowing...and something is inside of one of them.

"Im going to go check around the place," said Black. "I would like it very much if you came with me Paper," holding out his hand to her he continued to say, " we can also get your clothes dry while we are about."

Paper accepted Black's hand and stood.
"Okay," she said.

Bringing Paper to her room, "grab the clothes you want to wash, we can stop there first," said Black.

Paper look around the room and at first went to grab her leather jacket. She slipped it on and put her hands in the pockets to check for what was in them.

They were empty, and she continued to walk around the room grabbing her wet clothes that she had left strewn around to dry and then she grabbed her knapsack for the dirty clothes inside.
She draped the wet clothes over the knapsack and slung the bundle over her shoulder.

"Okay...I got all my clothes. And pretty much everything else," Paper grinned.

With one hand on a knapsack strap, her other hand took one of Black's and she stood next to him, holding hands waiting for him to be the first one out the door.

Smiling at the pure child like way of Papers actions made Black feel like he could find a true friend in her. " Well lets be on our way then," said he.

Black took Paper with him throught the hallway and to Parline's office seeing her not there truly made Black wonder what had happened.

He then leaded the two of them through the rain into the laundry noticing how everything was drenched didn't bring rapture to Black. He felt a presence in one of the washers and so said to Paper as he gripped his blade of flame," why dont you get thoes in a dryer im going to try and help Praline with fixing these washers," as he lifeted the one with energy coming from it.

Something is inside of two washers. One thing is a good thing, one thing is a bad thing. Finding one, will find the other.
