::New Character in Umbrella Chronicles::

Capcom introduced a new character (well kinda) from a new preview in Umbrella Chronicles. The mysterious man seems to have long white hair and broad stature. Rumors going around believe its Umbrella founder Lord Ozwell E. Spencer. Taken from a Trevor's Letters, where you hear about Spencer:

"While turning to face me, Lord Spencer shakes the white hairs from his shoulders. He has an impressive stature, and at first glance, one can feel that he has a high level of self confidence".

Also new scans were released. The new scenario shows Jill and Chris in some kind of Arctic environment. We know that Wesker's scenario takes places in 2003. Right before the incident with the villagers in Resident Evil 4. Perhaps this will gives us a fill in on what we missed since CV.

::New Character in UC: Rumors Disproved::

The recent issue of Famitsu has disproved the new character being Ozwell E. Spencer.

"The new character is named Sergei Vladimir. Sergei Vladimir was a Colonel of the soviet era. With the fall of the Soviet Union he approached Umbrella and he became one of the executives. He is somehow related with the establishment of the U.B.C.S. They still call him "Colonel". Around his right eye he has a few scars. It seems that his hobby is collecting old guns. On his chest he has the Umbrella mark. Also from his stripes on his shoulders he seems to be an high official of Umbrella. There's a shot that shows Sergei holding a Mauser in a showdown with Wesker."

::Resident Evil 5 Setting REVEALED?::

According to Kotaku, they're reporting that Resident Evil 5 takes place in Haiti. Here's what they all said:

::Resident Evil: Extinction - Opening Weekend Highest Seller::

On its opening weekend, Resident Evil: Extinction racked up 28 Million in the box office. Better than Resident Evil or Resident Evil: Apocalypse did on their opening weekends. This also put Extinction as the biggest selling movie this weekend. The distant second was Good Luck Chuck with 18 Million.

Capcom updated their Umbrella Chronicles site with a new layout and also a new trailer to check out. Wesker will be a playable character to help you come closer to the end of Umbrella. New enemies, characters and weapons are shown, so take advantage and watch.

::More Resident Evil Movies coming to Blu-Ray!::

According to Blu-Ray.com, Resident Evil: Extinction is scheduled to be released on New Years day of 2008. In addition to that, on the very same day, they plan to release the original Resident Evil movie on Blu-Ray as well as a Trilogy pack.

But that's not all! According to Amazon.com the special features in Resident Evil: Extinction will include a sneak preview of Resident Evil: Degeneration as well as the following:

Beyond Raccoon City: Unearthing Resident Evil: Extinction Featurette
11 Deleted Scenes
Audio Commentary with Producer/Writer Paul W.S. Anderson and Producer Jeremy Bolt

After more than 3 years of online service, the external company providing server hosting for both Resident Evil: Outbreak and Monster Hunter has decided to exit the PlayStation 2 online business altogether, with no possibility of outsourcing either the service or the technology.

This means that online gameplay for both games will come to an end on December 31, 2007. Fortunately, the single-player campaigns in both games will be unaffected by this change and will continue to provide hours of entertainment on both PlayStation 2 and backwards-compatible PlayStation 3 hardware. Thank you for supporting Capcom’s online titles over the years!

And just so you know, although these are older titles, we did want to make an effort to keep the fans happy and continue supporting online play. We’ve tried to extend the contract, move it someplace else, etc. It’s not happening. The hosting partner (who I guess remains nameless here) is just quitting the business entirely and doesn’t want to mess around with the time/money involved in porting anything. Thanks to everyone who has kept these games fun online for so many years.

Industry insider who usual bring out numerous rumors, seem to be sitting on a few facts about Resident Evil 5. How true can these be? Who knows. Here's what they had to say.

-Resident Evil 5 will more than likely be released September/October. Could that be 2008 or '09. Don't know.

-The main lead character is Sherry Birkin who is on her early twenties.

-Albert Wesker to make another return.

Capcom released an 14 minute interview with the producer of Resident Evil 5 explaining key critical points about the game and how it will live up to its expectations. Key points of the game include:
