Like a touch-screen for a comp. it's like one of those magnetic things that you have a magnetic pen to draw on, but what you draw shows up on your program - Paint, Photoshop, whatever. I dunno if you're compare it to a touch screen, since touching a tablet never works, you gotta use the pen.

I have to use 0.7 if I want to not waste paper. 0.5 causes rips.

I use 0.5 lead very often now,and it doesn't rip the paper at all o.o
all it does is break a lot of times if I don't concentrate...

I know. SMARTBoards suck. I tried writing my name on one for a presentation near the bottom of the board, then it just paused for 10 seconds and after I turned around, the line just zoomed all the way up to the top of the screen, and my classmates were like "WHOOOA, JIN! How did you do that?! You're so magical!" xDDD
I have a hard time erasing 0.7 lead. I prefer 0.5 because it won't smear as much and it's easier for me to use.

Really?
Open up the My Computer folder, double click on the scanner icon, go down to the scanner wizard, then I think it should give you instructions from there. If not, put your picture in the scanner, click preview, and frame it, then click on Next and select where you want to store the scanned picture and click next again.
Note that I have no idea if this is different on all computers. D:
