Basically, you buy items, usually from the forums, and resell them on the MP for a profit.
I would have said "invest", but it requires a stock of a couple million gold and a lot of patience if you want to get anywhere with that.

So I would buy something for 50g and then sell it on the MP for 100? I do that with my tickets cool I have 800 tickets and I set the price to 2400+

Basically, like that -- gradually, when you accumulate enough the money, you can start buying bigger stuff that people are in a hurry to get rid of. If I really want to get some money for something quick, I don't hesitate to sell things up to 10k below LMP.
