I know last week I got totally drenched in a rain storm during soccer practice that messed up the screen on my phone. Guess you missed it.
And it was a rather quick torrential downpour, so I'm not surprised it didn't stick around.

It was definitely longer than an hour. And when you say 'proper' do you mean that it could be considered rain, or that it is what the ground and watershed need to be healthy(I guess). Because you're right that it has been dry and we in general need more rain, but that isn't to say it hasn't rained.

I just got home. I nearly drowned too. There are RIVERS in front of my apartment and the hospital's nearly flooded.
