It's an actual riddle-thing that's been around for years... My uncles have been employing it to stump their nieces and nephews for decades, at least. Different variations of it, anyway. All of which include a broken fishtank and two fish with people-names who died of... not water.
*cackles like that witch in those Bugs Bunny cartoons, you know the one that captured Hansel and Gretel that one time, and everyone was confused by Hansel being pronounced like "Hawn-sel"... Eeeeeeheeheehee*
