He nodded, somewhat sheepishly, to give the sought after confirmation, adding a little detail, "Grande Ile is governed by twelve noble houses forming a Parliament. The system's changed a lot since the nation became independent, but the lineages involved in governing have stayed pretty much the same." Definitely no history of kings or princes, though. The closest the country ever came to something like that was with the duchy.

"I guess," he said in response to Evan's conclusion, his ability to make eye contact with anyone shot to hell. "I can't really say I'm looking forward to it. All of that stuff is so stiff and boring." Thus the intention to remain in Kodo for as long as he could possible push it. He doubted his father was too eager to shed his mantle anyway.

Rodney listened to Luke with great interest, as he chose to elaborate a little on the government of Grand Ile, nodding softly as the younger man spoke. "Fascinating."

"Yeah, I guess if you're not really all that into it." Evan admitted, "What is it that you would rather do then? If you could." He asked curiously

The thought of doing anything other than succeeding the Fabre name was so foreign that Luke was left floundering unsuccessfully for an answer. "I don't know," he admitted lamely. "I've never really thought about it. There's nothing I'm especially good at, so…" At the moment his intentions were to continue to oppose Team Rocket in defense of Kodo and his friends, but that wasn't really something that could be called an occupation.

"Mmmm" Rosie hummed, looking over at Luke "That's not true, you're a talented singer." She pointed out.

All three other the male Ewells seemed to double their attentiveness when Rosie said this.
"You sing?" Bruce asked pointedly, interest seeming to have been peaked.

"Not-- Mm… Kind of?" he acquiesced hesitantly. "Not like… with lessons or anything. Just a hobby from when I was younger…"

"Hey, you're talking to the right people." Bruce pointed out. "Habby, lifestyle, whats the difference?"

"Lessons really mean nothing if you don't already have talent, in fact if you just practice lessons aren't really worth much of anything anyway." Rosie pointed out.

With most of the people at the table having finished their meal, and were sitting around just talking at this point, Alex stood up, and started to gather her own dishes to bring into the kitchen "Why don't you sing a bit?" She offered.

The suggestion immediately blanked his mind of every piece of music he had ever known - not that he would have had the audacity to just open his mouth and produce song even if he could remember any lyrics. Though he'd gradually become accustomed to singing with Rosie, the thought of performing for any other audience was intimidating. He raised his hands lightly in instinctive defense, "Off the top of my head is a bit…" A bit impossible.

Evan clapped his hands, and was soon on his feet, ignoring his dish as he addressed Luke "Not a problem." He told him.

"Son, you're in the Ewell household, there isn't a room in here that you won't find a top of the line sound system or stereo, instrument, a number of scattered CDs, headphones players. if there isn't music playing somewhere in this house, or on someones tongue, then there is something wrong." Bruce took the moment to explain, a grin spreading over his face as he stood up as well, letting Evan pass, Rodney standing to follow a moment later.

"I probably should have warned you..." Rosie spoke, quietly in an apologetic voice "It'll be fun though, come on." She offered, holding her hand out as she too stood up.
for the time being it seemed the dishes on the table were going to be ignored.

Well this was just spiraling completely out of control. Though the idea of a house in which music was quite literally everywhere was an appealing one, it sort of felt like the fact was being used for evil - well, okay, that was probably a bit melodramatic. With some apprehension, he rose from the table as well, following alongside Rosie and taking his precious few moments for mental preparation.

The room that Rosie lead Luke into next would be easily identified as the living room Where the TV had been playing earlier.
Evan was already sitting at one end of a long, two part couch, with a guitar in his lap, gently plucking at the strings as if to make sure that the instrument was in tune.
Rodney was absent, for the time being, allowing most of the focus to be on Evan.
"The G sounds a little off." she commented, sitting on the opposite side of the couch with her leg tucking under her,
"Yeah it sounds like it" The jock agreed, reaching to to tweak the settings and plucking the strings again. "There is it." He said with a smile, and all at once began to strum through a quick and energetic melody.

Alex stepped up behind him leaning over the back of the couch as she watched Evan play, the young man rocking slightly to put himself more into the rhythm.

It wasn't long before Rodney was back, with another guitar.
Sitting by the coffee table where his twin was, he took a moment to catch up with the melody before he joined in with his own supporting melody, and helping Evan finish up his practice song.

Before too along another song started up, this one joined in with Bruce, having taken the guitar that Rodney had brought.
The room filled with music, and eventually with a voice as Evan started to sing, very casually, calmly, though with a soft smile on his face, turning to look over at Alex as he did so, his smile only growing as he looked at her.
Eventually, Rodeny joined in for a harmony, as the song built and the energy capped the men fell silent and Rosie started singing, sitting up taller to help her breath. Taking on a much softer tone then the boys had had, and allowing it to trail off with the music.
There was a pause and the guitars strummed back to life.

To say that Luke had never heard a guitar before would be plain misinformation, but he had certainly never heard one played in front of him before, and the earthen thrum was commanding. The whole scene as he witnessed it was commanding, taking memories of the ensembles that had played vapidly in the corner of his father's parties and emptying them. The nerves he had so dutifully agitated dissipated to the sound of something he loved.

The family continued like this for a couple more songs, with different feels.
"Alright, Rosie, you're taking this one, what are we playing for you hun?"

Rosie though about it for a moment, looking over at Luke for a moment before her eyes brightened with an idea and she spoke the title of a song.

This grew a grin from the larger of the twins, and he bent over his instrument, finding the strings and starting to play.
The instrumental introduction continued, allowing Rosie a moment to gather herself before she started singing.

It was a song she had given to Luke, one she knew they both knew, and one the knew was intended to be a duet.

He blinked in mild expectancy at the look he was given, the explanation coming in short order in the form of the suggested title. Surely enough he did recognize the name and knew the nature of it, and it was a short step to conclude what the intention behind the request was. Well fine, if there wasn't any choice about it… He exhaled lightly, resting his eyes on his hands in his lap, and matched his voice to the lyrics.

In clear delight when he started singing as well, she shifted where she was sitting, turning to face her friend, leaning an arm on the head cushion of the couch, smiling as she watched him sing, though keeping his head down.
She waited for her part to join in, and she did so, singing along him with absolute elation, that translating in the sound of her song.

He spared a glance in Rosie's direction as he detected her movement, and though her smile was contagious, he remained unwilling to lift his gaze again. The pleasantness in his expression carried through to his voice, softening and strengthening the lyrics he pronounced in harmony to Rosie's melody.
