City Hall ~The RP~

Intrigued, Esteban said, "What can you tell me about the Little Necropolis then?"  

[Jasae Bushae]

"Well they had few dealings with City Hall but if memory serves, it used to be the seat of power for the undead and the home of undead cultural heritage. You would do better to ask someone more familiar with the area though."  

[Frostborne_PrettyGirl]

Esteban looked contemplatively at the desk, his arms folding as he stood there. "I don't suppose you could tell me who might be more knowledgeable about this place, do you?" Esteban said, breaking his silence. "And you don't know if there is anyone running this place anymore?"  

[Jasae Bushae]

"Im sorry, I cant really help you there. All I can say is I havnt heard much about the locale in some time."
The clerk said apolegetically

"All is well," Esteban said dismisively. "If you could have told me everything I needed to know, then there wouldn't have been any reason for me to meet with the Mayor's Assistant, now would there?"  

[Breyer]

Jasae Bushae

"Of course, of course, right this way."
The clerk plushie said, escorting breyer inside.

Meanwhile, Chibi recieved the message from her few subordinates.
"Excuse me, city issues have come up. If you will be paient I will be with you again shortly."
With that, Chibi went to the next room where Breyer now sat, having been lead to a small cubicle set up in the main lobby that served as a sort of meeting room.
"Hello, I am Chibi, the mayors assistant. How can I help you?"

"Thank you for meeting with me. My name is Breyer. I am new in town. I am told that you are paying the Animated for services here, but are you aware that the Animated are raging predatory swarms when they are outside of town, and that you are enabling them to continue their attacks?"  

[Jasae Bushae]

"I suppose."
The clerk said, adjusting his spectacles

Chibi rolled her eyes at Breyers question.
"The Animated have caused no trouble within city limits which is our jurisdiction. Do you have any other questions or is that all you are here for?"  

[Breyer]

"Pardon me for saying so, but that is like saying that if your neighbor's house is being broken into by burglars, and the burglars live at your house and pay you for rent with the money that they get from stealing from your neighbor, then it doesn't bother you that you're housing a burglar or that you're taking stolen money as payment."  

[Jasae Bushae]

Chibi looked at Breyer with a touch of amusement.
"You don't know much about politics do you? If that is really all your hear for I suggest you get a book on legal history from the library. If not...please get to the point"

Esteban glanced down at his wrist, pulling back the sleeve of his suit jacket so he could glance at his wristwatch, and then reached for his briefcase. Propping it up on the clerk's desk, he popped it open and dug around for a piece of paper. Upon finding a suitable blank sheet, he pulled it out and grabbed a pen from his breast pocket. "I have waited too long and I have other things I must do while the day is still young," he said as he started scribbling on the paper. "If you would be so kind as to give this letter to Chibi when s/he gets out of their current meeting, I would appreciate it." After folding the note and scribbling Chibi's name on it, he handed the note to the clerk. "Thank you for all of your help today." With a snap of his briefcase, Esteban was off and walking away.

The note reads:

Dear Chibi,
My Name is Dr. Esteban Muciello. I have recently taken up residency of the local graveyard. Upon not discovering anybody in charge, I have to decided to take up ownership of this quaint little district. I would like to discuss any logistics that may be involved with this change of ownership. If you would like to speak with me, I'll be out of the office for awhile. I'm planning on doing a little research at the local library, so you could find me there.

[Breyer]

Chibi looked at Breyer with a touch of amusement.
"You don't know much about politics do you? If that is really all your hear for I suggest you get a book on legal history from the library. If not...please get to the point"

Breyer scowled. These folk had a peculiar sense of loyalty. Seeing that they were not interested in patriotism, Breyer sighed and said, "Thank you for your time, Assistant Chibi."

Breyer returned to the front office.

Andre had meanwhile been spending his time making phone calls.
He'd gone to sit on a bench off to one side, where he was out of the way and could make calls without being a nuisance to the plushie clerk who'd been helping... whoever it was that had come in after Breyer.

The first call went like this:
"Yes, she arrived, and-"
There was a slight pause as he listened to what the other person was saying, then:
"Well, actually no... I mean, yes, but not yet, I'm sort of taking the long way back."
...pause...
"Mm-hm. I see. Well, I'll get back as soon as I can."
...pause...
"Okay, bye."

The other conversation had gone as follows:
"Hello, Pharlen?"
"Yes, this is Andre."
"Mm-hm, I'm there now, yes."
"Was that all, then?"
"Really... okay, then. Best of luck to you and thanks again for your help."
"No trouble at all, really. Good-bye."

Andre had just put his phone away when Breyer returned to the front office.
"There you are." he said, "How'd it go? Did you find out what you wanted to know?"  

[Breyer]

Breyer nodded. He said, "The answers weren't what I wanted to hear, though." He thought for a moment before asking, "Would you mind telling me where I can find a hotel? I need to find a room for the night."  

[delbosque]

"Well..." Andre paused, considering. "I haven't really been to any of the hotels here in Byako... but I've heard of some. I don't know where any of them are, except I think I passed the Plushie Palace once on the way to the marketplace. Oh, there's an idea! I need to get a new suit to replace this one that got all beat up recently, I'll help you find the Plushie Palace and then go on to the marketplace to look for a suit shop."  

[Breyer]

"That sounds good. Please lead the way, sir."

Breyer held the door open for Andre.
