Freely moveable, most common in the body
1. structure

b-Synovial membrans- lines capsule, secretes fluid
c-Articular cart.-covers end of bone
d-Joint Cavity-space between bones
e-Minisci-pads of fibrocart.
f-ligament-strong cords that hold bones together
g-Bursae- membranes filled with fluid

Types of syn. Jts.
a. Uniaxial-around 1 plane/axis
hinge-allows flexion & tension, pivot-projection from one bone fits into ring of another (c1 & c2 of spinal vertebre)

b. Biaxial- around two axes or plains
saddle joint-bones resemble reciprocal saddles (only thumbs), Condyloid- Condle fits into elliptical socket

I'm glad that when I had to learn anatomy and physiology, it was just the basics so I didn't need to know all of that ^_^ But I did need to know the different connective tissues and cartilage though and be able to identify it on a slide.

Um... *Is partually brain dead* Thanks Italian.... and uh... *Picks up shot gun* Puppet, if you try to make me learn anything tonight I am likely to come to your house and kill youz.

XD its anatomy and physiology!

It's also a part of kinesiology, the science of human movement. I hate that class so much....
PostPosted: Thu Dec 02, 2010 7:27 pm
oh i love this class
I actually have to learn more than basics
I also have to know all the tarsals, carpals, and different bones along with the names of different bumps and projections and stuff XD

I really do like learning about the human body

I have to know the different sutures along with bones and joints by tomorrow XD

regions of vertebral column
cervical(neck)-7 vertebre (C1-C7)
Thracic (Chest)-12 vertebre (T1-T12)
Lumbar (lowerback)- 5 vertebre (L1-L5)
Coccygal (tail)- 3-5 vertebre (Co1-Co3)

Cervical curvature- helps support head
lumbar curve- concave posteriorsly(?)
-begins with walking
-helps support trunk
Lateral Curvature- (XD i forget)
