Somehow I feel as though Juri from Street Fighter has been used before, but I can't put my finger on exactly who made them or as what...though it wouldn't have been very prominent, I think...

I don't really understand why Memorial Day and grilling food are linked together... o.O Oh, well, as long as it tastes good in the end, I suppose it's all good.

Well what else is there to do on Memorial Day? XD
Go to the cemetery, any memorials, be outside...that's about it.
And if you're going to be outside and all, might as well grill.

There's gotta be something particularly important, though. o wo I mean, why is Memorial Day the start of the grilling season? Why not the day before?
...
Why is it ever NOT the season to burn food? o.O That's the weirdest thing of all.

It's the season for a particular type of burning of food...the type where you're outside in nice weather, cooking with an open flame, etc.
You can't really do that so well when it's cold out...not just because of snow and such, but because it's just not comfortable being outside in the cold. And I think Memorial Day is the sort of 'unofficial' end to the 'cold season'. It could just as easily be the first day of Spring, but I think Memorial Day works because it's a holiday...meaning 3-Day weekend...meaning families getting together for outdoor parties and gatherings and such...meaning a perfect time to break out the old grill and start cooking your food that way again.
It ain't rocket science. Just convenience and common sense, I suppose. XD
