His claws got lopped off. Major blood loss would have incurred. In my book, nothing would have save him from that... Not unless the wounds were cartorized withing moments of him receiving it.

... Maybe Tora had enough magic in his body to slow the bleeding... Maybe only looking one wing was what saved him. I don't know. It's pretty much up to you. Your character not mine.
