Hotaru shrugged. "My life has been fine so far. A little insanity is good for you." She muttered. "Besides if I need to be fixed so much why are you hanging around me." She pointed out.

Kai laughed.
"Because, im the one adding the human relations. I am the one fixing you in a metaphorical sense."

Hotaru shoved her plate away and pulled her sweater on as she grabbed her book and purse and started to head for the door. "I don't want to be fixed. I like me the way I am, if you can't then just leave me alone." She said over her shoulder as she grabbed the door.

Kai sighed and then got up and held the door closed.
"Im sorry, I didnt mean to offend you, fixing is a bad word to say in this situation....any situation really......I apologize, please just stay."

Hotaru frowned and chewed her lip but finally sighed and returned to her seat at the table as she tossed her sweater back over the back of the chair.

Kai sighed and then smiled as he sat down.
"Thank you."
He started slowly eating again and then looked over at her.
"I really am sorry. I tend to not realize what im saying sometimes."

Hotaru shrugged. It wasn't like even her own parents wanted her 'fixed'. "It's no big deal." She replied as she retreated to her book as she always did. Books didn't judge you, laugh at you, or call your names. That's why she had always preferred books to people.

Kai sighed and frowned lightly as he finished his food.
"Why do you like books more then people?"

Hotaru paused and looked up at him. "Books don't judge you." She answered simply as she returned to reading.

Kai laughed lightly and nodded.
"Yeah, thats true, but can they hold a conversation?"

Hotaru shrugged. "I'm not so good with conversation anyways." She countered. "I never really have been."

Hotaru looked at him pointedly. After all a few moments ago hadn't she been about to leave? And when had she actually held a conversation? For the most part he talked and she read while following him.

Kai looked at her and laughed.
"Theres two parts to a conversation, the one who talks, and the one who listens, and sometimes, almost always, the people switch between speaking. Like if I tried to tell you my life story, and then you talked about yours, that would be switching roles, and if it were just me, then I would be holding the conversation by my self."

Hotaru arched an eyebrow. Wasn't that what he was doing now? She hadn't actually said anything in the last fifteen or so minutes.
