"-And further more, the next time you wanna throw your life on the line for a third ******** time in a row, at least have the decency to wait until I'm not around! For ******** sake, I thought I was gonna have to drag your carcass all the way down this building! You... you stupid b*****d!" as he said these last words in his rant, he nearly tripped over them. He felt awful for it, but he... actually was relieved that Kaiba was okay, and not just so he wouldn't have to drag his body somewhere. He voice had caught ever-so-slightly, just giving the most minimal indication that a lump was forming in his throat. At least he wasn't teary-eyed. That would just be humiliating beyond repair.
((No worries; I absolutely *love* dream sequences in fanfiction and roleplays. I used to do them all the time in this DBZ roleplay with Karma where a sorceress was haunting one of my character's dreams while she stole his energy. So it was really interesting to read! XD Yeah, I don't mind if you make up details for the parents. Though you do know that Kaiba's mom died in childbirth, right? I mean, it would be easy to imagine that Kaiba dreamed of his mom in the accident with his dad, especially considering Jounouchi and himself were in there as well, but just making sure. XD;; ))

Seto blinked a few times, trying to force the images away. It was just a dream, it wasn't real. Most of it wasn't right. The cars weren't right, his mother, that hadn't been right. His dad's positioning was...off. And of course himself, Jounouchi, clearly they weren't dead. Nor had they ever been in a vehicle together. As if he'd ever let that idiot mutt drive him around, there's just no way.
He flushed slightly, discomforted and embarrassed by his proximity to the ranting blond. At least he had been ranting. His tirade slowed, he seemed to choke up a bit, as if emotionally unsettled. Seto couldn't make sense of why though, and he realized he didn't have the energy to try. Sighing softly he leaned his head back against Jounouchi's arm. He was too tired to reject the closeness, to tired to move away. The dream might actually have exhausted him more than the electrical current. Jounouchi could shove him away if he wanted his lap back, for now he was just going to ignore where exactly the comforting warmth was coming from and rest.
((I meant on the details in what they looked like, since I wanna say that we might possibly have seen random photo of them once somewhere in the series, but I just can't remember. Yea the details on the dream accident are of course all off, so I wanted some things to be all wrong so that it would be clear that it wasn't supposed to be prophetic, because it's already wrong in other ways. I meant to make that more clear but yea, it was already really long and I was REALLY tired - 2 hours of sleep the night before I wrote that so proof reading didn't really happen.))

Jounouchi went completely silent when he felt Kaiba shift against his arm. He blinked a few times, taken aback as he tensed ever-so-slightly. "..." But Kaiba looked pretty exhausted and out of it, so he just decided to let it slide. He instead awkwardly looked around a few times, just confirming that no one could possibly be on the roof with them to make fun of him, and then finally relaxed, staying quiet and just letting Kaiba rest on his lap.
((Ah, right. Well as far as I remember, if never showed any pics, and if it did, it was probably one of those typical anime picture frames with a light glare blocking out their faces. So no, I don't mind at all if you make up traits. XD Hell, I prefer it, because it gives me a basis to imagine the characters on without having to make anything up myself. No, it was definitely clear that the dream wasn't meant to be prophetic. I didn't imagine that at all.))

Seto fought back the unnatural urge to thank Jounouchi for not shoving him to the ground. Seto rarely thanked people even when professional decorum mandated thus, he certainly wasn't about to do so for mere personal reasons. After resting for several minutes he decided the silence would have to be broken eventually, plus who knew how long the generator would hold out? And chances are even if Jounouchi manage to once again fail to thwart his endeavors, he probably wouldn't survive a fourth round with the beast. Glancing up at the passive, thoughtful face above him he said with as much neutrality as possible, "well, the powers back on."
((It mighta been one of those glare pics, anyhow not sure, it's been awhile. My memory is fuzzy, I'm tired, just saying if there is a source I'm so not following it. Just going with my imagination on the parental units here)).

"..." Well, that was a helluva silence breaker. Actually, it was really good news, and considering the completely detestable streak of bad luck they had had in the last few hours, Jounouchi wasn't sure if he was ready to believe it. "...you serious?" Kaiba could easily be messing with him, or be too delirious to know what he was talking about. He didn't want to get his hopes up quite yet.
((Well I'm am perfectly and completely fine with that. XD))

Seto smiled gently up at Jounouchi, a tad delirious, but mostly amused at how oblivious he could be. "Hear the hum from the generator? Notice the unnatural fluorescent light spilling out of the elevator shaft over there? Power my friend, we are free...well, assuming we get down and out of here before it decides to shut off on us again. Not sure I can get the generator running a second time," he ended with mock seriousness, as if actually pondering another round with the death machine.
((Coo' cool ))

Jounouchi was in shocked silence for just a moment. That smile that Kaiba gave him... it was something he had only ever seen the guy give Mokuba... and that was only maybe like... twice he had witnessed it. He slowly looked up and around, making sure there was no one standing over his shoulder that Kaiba could be aiming that smile at, but sure enough, they were alone. What the hell was this about? Kaiba actually looked... gentle, and nice... when he did that smile. Not wanting to look flustered or like a total moron though, the blond quickly recovered himself and responded to the other, "I-I was too stunned by you almost killing yourself again to notice such sudden changes, okay?!" he huffed, though didn't seem genuinely angry. Then he considered the rest of Kaiba's words, "Oh wait, hell no! We are so getting out of here with this chance!" he was already starting to rise, pulling Kaiba up along with him and hanging the man's arm around his shoulder for support. "No way I'm gonna let you mess with that thing again, so even if I have to drag you all the way out of here, we're gonna make it in time!" and true to his word, he was already proceeding to drag Kaiba to the elevator.

Decisions, decisions. Let them finally leave and end their miserable night? It still seemed so early, more fun could be had. At the same time perhaps enough of a connection had been established that he could hope to still have little Seto as a plaything from time to time. But they ran in such different circles. After they all parted ways his job was Jounouchi, and his pleasure gig would have to take a backseat. Well, it was a long way to the ground floor, and these two were apparently prone to a rather high amount of questionable luck on their own. He could wait it out a bit longer, before making any definitive move.
Seto wanted to pull away, hated to appear weak, but he decided that would just make the moment awkward. This whole night had been uncomfortable enough, he wouldn't push things before he had to. Leaning most of his weight into Jounouchi's side he allowed the other man to lead him into the elevator. Not wanting to be vertical any longer, he used the excuse of a firm wall to pull away and slouch down onto the floor. All that work with the generator had been hot and exhausting, and the cool metal felt wonderful against his bruised back. "I wasn't trying to kill myself," he said after a moment, after Jounouchi had sat himself beside him. He avoided thinking about how the man next to him had only an hour earlier gone out of his way to sit across from him, away from him. "I was fixing the generator, evident in the fact that we are now surrounded by wonderful unnatural light and moving at a more expedient pace towards freedom, hopefully." After everything he wasn't anywhere near superstitious of course, still, it couldn't hurt to avoid being overconfident. At least until after they he'd made it home, or at least made it out.

Jounouchi was currently leaning his head up and back, neck and scalp pressed against the wall, face pointing towards the ceiling of the elevator. He was taking a moment just to revel in the calm, thoughtless moment. Finally just... letting the elevator move down. He didn't have to do anything until it reached the ground floor. He could just let his mind rest. And stop thinking about that supernatural crap. The blond closed his eyes, enjoying the blind feeling of the subtle elevator movement, "Mmkay then, whatever you say." he mumbled, not actually completely sure what Kaiba had actually been saying. He could just tell that it sounded like he was explaining his actions or something. Whatever. He wasn't even bothering to try and comprehend the CEO's fancy words for now.

Jounouchi was clearly in his own world, so Seto decided it prudent to fade into silence himself. If the normally blathering idiot could be silent he certainly couldn't be the one to shatter the détente. Within a few short minutes they were on the ground floor, almost afraid to move for fear of something else going wrong. After a slightly elongated pause Seto, with Jounouchi close behind, exited the elevator and walked briskly through the now brightly lit lobby. Hesitating only briefly at the front door Seto tried the latch, and to both of their delight the door opened. Jounouchi skipped out and started dancing in the front walk, Seto only stepped out a few inches, still holding the entrance open with his back.
As much as he wanted out of the building, he was starting to see little point. He'd have to be back here in less than two hours. One night from Hell wasn't exactly going to be enough to justify taking off work, even if the unprecedented behavior would absolutely thrill his brother. Especially as he was now further away from his deadline, having wasted the end of yesterday evening fumbling around with freak power outages. He thus remained motionless, watching Jounouchi's celebratory antics with amusement, still debating whether or not to make any use of the short amount of freedom at his disposal. Torn between a grimace and a laugh he realized he could just make a quick run for more coffee.

"Yessss, so good to be outside down on solid ground again!" Jounouchi stretched his arms up into the air, closing his eyes happily and enjoying the breeze and fresh morning sunlight. After allowing himself that moment to take the freedom in, her lowered his arms and turned to face Kaiba again, figuring that this was probably the end of their little adventure, and that things would return to normal from here on. At least they had manage to keep their bickering to a minimum during the final part of their escapade. "Well, glad that's finally over." he said, his voice a bit cautious, wanting to make sure it was really okay to say this. After all, with their present luck, the whole building could just suddenly crash down on them right now, "Look, you seem to be doing a lot better now from... whatever was wrong with you, so I'm gonna head home now, okay?" though he was awake at the moment, he could feel the amount of tiredness his adrenalin was holding back, and knew that in a short while he would just want nothing more than to sleep, "So like... I dunno, I don't really care what you decide to do, but considering the mess with the generator and everything, might be best to go get yourself checked out." he shrugged, "And your building too. Like... seriously, don't let anyone back in that thing until you're sure it won't trap anyone." he nodded, not really thinking Kaiba would consider his advice at all valuable, but figuring he should say it, just in case the guy was till in the mood to make stupid decisions.

"hmph," Seto smirked, amused at the parting lecture, "thanks, but I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself." He let the door swing closed behind him, slipping the key card back into his pocket. He wasn't about to seek medical attention, he wasn't overly fond of doctors, however he decided to screw his own agenda and go see Mokuba. At least for a couple of hours. A night like the last at least merited that reprieve. He strutted past Jounouchi, who was still standing awkwardly in the aisle. "Later mutt," he said with a parting wave, not bothering to even look back over his shoulder as he headed towards the parking garage to locate his driver. Via the street entrance rather than the building entrance of course.

"Jch-" Jounouchi tensed as the familiar insult reached his ears, automatically going into 'fight mode' as a response. He stopped himself however, simply allowing himself that clench of teeth and fists, before deciding it wasn't worth it right now. Let Kaiba have his insult. He was too tired to start something about it, and risk the events of the night escalating into the daytime somehow. So Jounouchi just glared at the retreating form, snorting in annoyance to himself, though relieved to finally be able to part ways. That had sure been a helluva night.

Seto strolled on to a coffee shop, not the one he patronized earlier in the evening, a different one. He needed a fresh start. He didn't bother to look back and see where or when Jounouchi went off to. He took out his cellphone, which he had at least remembered to grab this time, and sighed. He figured at the very least he owed Mokuba a phone call. Pressing speed dial one he listened to the ring, awaiting the angry voice he was sure would greet him. Assuming he wasn't too angry to answer, that would definitely hurt, especially after tonight. He couldn't blame the kid though. Tonight may have been some freak incident beyond his control, but none of the uncountable other nights were.
With a soft twinge of regret at being unable to follow the sulky brunette, he followed after Jounouchi. He didn't exactly want to play with the building anymore, hopefully he'd get the chance to play with Seto again before he went back home.

Mokuba picked up the phone immediately, "Nii Sama, finally!" he said, his voice sounding slightly frantic, "You weren't answering your phone at all, and I was starting to get worried!"
Well, that was that then. He could finally go home. Keeping that in mind, Jounouchi caught himself letting out a light sigh; it must've just been another means of showing relief, of course. He wasn't sighing out of disappointment that Kaiba had left. That would be ridiculous. And so Jounouchi began heading off in the direction of his apartment complex, planning to head straight in, sneak passed his hopefully-sleeping father, and go collapse on his bed to sleep for the rest of the day. That sounded nice.
