Argent stumbled, and one of her feet slipped into a crack. She wiggled her leg, trying to get it out. She turned pale as the man finsihed speaking. "A....Avatar?" She pulled her foot out and sprinted forward, and surrounded her entire body in gale force winds. She could feel fatigue would soon set in, so she tried to hurry.

 

[Taigamma]

Zero quickly channeled his chi into his hands, gathering the energies of the spirits into his grasp. "It's time for this to end."

He slowly released the new elemental form chakra loose upon Argent and the world. There would be conflict for there can only be one avatar in existence.  

[Akaookami_Haninozuka]

Argent gasped, running forward quicker and kneeling when she had no more time. She made a large barrier around her with thick winds. She slowly began to crawl forward, her barrier peeling away slowly from the energy.

 

[Taigamma]

"Do you feel them? The spirits of the world....The spirits of the four elements binding together into a single pillar of pure bending? Do you feel the energy of the soul being channeled into your being, ripping your sanity from the bottom of your skull as the screams of the fallen rise to assault you? Do you?...Do you fear death?!" Zero adjusted the chi blast. Its power was weakened greatly in exchange for a wider radius.

He would only be able to keep this up for a little while as it was not natural for any being to continuously channel large sums of chakra, let alone into a single point. "There was once a gift that all living beings had. They called it energybending. They would bending the very energies within themselves..." Zero pulled his hands apart, ending the terrible blast.

"But they slowly began to lose that gift as time went on...HA HA HA! No mortal man can handle this power in life..." Zero began absorbing chi from the life around him. "So they must handle it in death...KAIMETSU!"

((Kaimetsu = Annihilation.))

~Prince Damien - Son of the Earth King~

Damien believed that he finally saw an opening and started rushing towards Zero, "Then your end will come early!" He yelled as he rushed at him with his broadswords drawn. He rushed at him ready to kill him.

As his power increased, the earth shook under his feet. "Glad to have you back Damien...too bad you showed up at the right time." Zero's facial expression was one of madness. What could he be planning as the great prince Damien charged forward? Would Damien be the one to end him? Or would it be the airbender Argent?

The true question was if either one was worthy enough to take up the True Root's master, Ryuko Typhoon and take the burden of the gift?

~Prince Damien - Son of the Earth King~

Damien rushed forward at him, he wondered what he had meant by what he had said about showing up at the right time but knew that he needed to attack fast. He rushed at him still, he was able to keep his balance even though the ground shook. He got close to Zero and swung his swords at him, attacking him.

 

[Taigamma]

The blades cut through him with no problem. "Imperfect..." Zero smiled normally as the gathered chi spilled rapidly like blood. So much unsteady energy in wounded body was like pressurized water in a cracked tank, it was bound to explode.

Like a bomb, Zero's body exploded into pure chi, attacking everything in sight. All those who were hit would either be wounded slightly, escaping with major chi corruption or be granted the burden of Master Ryuko Typhoon granted during his legacy in the teachings of chibending.

Slowly fading into death, Master Ryuko Typhoon smiled as his life flashed before his eyes. "Ha ha...guess there can only one Avatar in the world...Sorry, Xian, I left you alone with the burden...of being...false."

~Prince Damien - Son of the Earth King~

Damien was right in front of Zero when his body exploded. Damien was sent flying back, his grip on his swords lost as he flew back and hit a wall. He collapsed to the ground after taking the force of Zero's explosion.

 

[Taigamma]

Ryuko looked at those around him. The sudden release of chi energy had done much damage. Damien's right arm was forever scarred with the flames of Zero's heart. The scar stretched from wrist to chest. Never would he know pain without remembering this day.

This act of killing a false avatar would surely play in his favor, for these mock messiahs held within them the power to grant others power. Sure Damien was scarred, but this scar was the Mark of Ryu, one of the greatest accomplishments one could ever get. Even in death, Zero's strength was limitless.

Now there only laid in worry the girl. Was she alive? Had she survived? Was she too marked by Ryu's burning heart?

Before he could check, Zero went out of consciousness. His time was almost up. So this is how it ends, eh? Ha ha...Glorious.

Argent only had a thin layer of a barrier once the explosion happen, and so the flames and chi broke in easily. She fell unconscious for a few moments, flames burning away her top layer of clothing and ripping into her golden shirt. The chi and flames broke through her skin, cutting and cauterizing her back and over her shoulders.

She screamed in pain as she woke again, and looked to where Ryuko was. She stood, her body covered in small cuts and bruises. She kneeled beside Zero's unconscious body and lowered her head, respectfully praying he would have a peaceful afterlife. Her body trembled wildly from pain, but she held her position while she prayed.

~Prince Damien - Son of the Earth King~

Damien was lying face first on the ground but then was kept away from the pain in his arm. He looked up at his arm and saw the flame like scars that went up his arm, his clothes were scorched but his right sleeve up to the right part of his shirt was completely ripped up. He tried moving, trying to get up but moving caused more pain from his arm.

 

[Taigamma]

For a second or two, Argent and Damien were allowed to see the spirit world. They could witness as a large black dragon came down and floated around Zero, absorbing his spirit into itself.

Even in the spirit world, Ryuko's form was unconscious. The massive chi explosion had done much damage that no solid form could heal from and no spiritual body could handle, yet...all outer damage disappeared from his physical body as the dragon flew away into the sky, letting the sun blind its presence.

What would the two friends do now? They were marked by a raging nightmare that desired to be a pleasing dream.

What has Zero done to the two youths with his violent passing?

Lu "Xian" Shang, The Earthbound Immortal

In a matter of seconds, a man had appeared to be beside his master. "The deed is done." He covered Ryuko's corpse in a large sheet, gathering it up for the final burial. "I thank you both for ridding the world of its...abomination."

He descended from the cliff unto a small boat from which he began the journey south to the Fire Nation where he would bury Zero's remains on a small island and decorate it with a shrine that held hidden within it the original Zhi Gundong.
