Oh. Well then! Taryn just stared back at the boil, looking between him and the chair, and offered a pathetic half-smile. She almost felt bad now for trying to scare Calder... almost, but not really. He was a big boil, he could handle himself, and she needed to pass this class. The chimera offered a little wave, resisting the urge to politely apologize.

Edel jumped out of her seat at the sound of the loud boom, turning around and feeling extremely stupid to find that she had been scared by the sound of Mr Rengath dropping a box on the stage. She obviously had some work to do. The frost demon raised her eyebrows at the rather kind comment he made – that coming from a pretty strict teacher...

The ghoul's eyes widened as she caught the box tossed at her, pausing to listen for Mr Rengath's further instructions before nodding and proceeding to open the box. A film canister. Filled with beans.

Beans.

Edel stared and stared and stared at them. This was ... going to be a serious stretch of her creativity. Biting her lower lip, she looked at Mort with a slightly helpless expression on her face.

“Well....”

Mort too also jumped when he heard the box drop, the top of his head opening a little before being restricted by the stitches - only a little of his brain was shown that time, ever crackling with electricity.

It didn't particularly help when a box was chucked at him. That time, the zombie yelped and nearly fell over in his chair for the second time that class, and his cranial top did indeed open further; Mort could feel his brain jostle about, sending a shock through his body. Visibly, he jerked and his hair suddenly stood up.

"Graaaaa . . ." He straightened himself up in time to see Edel's lip-biting face of concern. In return, he tried to look optimistic. "Can do! See, has -"

- he looked down, the smile frozen on his features -

"- h-has more beans. Will think of something, promise. Beans be scary sometimes."

Oh Jack, their luck wasn't giving them a break.

Ah, this was perplexing indeed. Edel could only give Mort a blank look upon the realisation that they were assigned beans. Scary beans, she told herself.

“Well ... shall we? ” the ghoul said, gesturing towards the door. “Perhaps we should work together, the more the scarier?” she tried nodding helpfully.

“Good?” She had murmured, tapping at her chin while sliding one of the empty seats beneath her. The ghoul also took a moment to scan the area, bouncing from Mort to Muka, to Edel and some others who were familiar to her…slightly impressed by some of their moves.


While his compliment was hardly enough to satisfy, the monster was immediately seen honing in just as he began; assessing each action critically. He had technique which was good, and he also had strong facial features which were much more terrifying when furrowed or narrowed or pinched in whatever way he aimed to scare…she had even jumped a little when the demon roared, crossing her legs with a chuckle after they had both settled.

But overall the boil had failed to truly frighten her.

Luckily Natalia wasn’t in the mood to be overly harsh, clapping twice at his attempt before rising to her feet. “Hey, I hear humans are a little easier to scare anyway.” She hadn’t heard that. And actually, she may have thought quite the opposite after having to battle the few on their last trip…

Which…would bring back too many painful memories if she thought too hard on it.

The loud BANG on the ground was a good enough distraction to turn the werelemur’s head over a shoulder. She had brought her tail in instinctively against her feet, the hairs standing on end when a box was flung into her hands. “Oh?” Shaking it, the ghoul tilted her head and listened, before glancing over to West.

“What did you get?!” And then to the others nearby, rising to her toes to peek into the newly opened ‘scare packages’.

After she had cleaned up the mess and returned the broom and dustpan to where she got it Willow moved to pick up a box and then headed over to the professor. After all he said he wanted to see her.... "Sir?"

She hadn't been in trouble before, she hoped because the mirror breaking was an accident she wasn't in too big of trouble this time.

Taryn was glad to scamper away from the superior pony boil and rushed over to the box, dipping her hand inside and removing a smaller box. Hmm, what was-- aww, come on! Face paint?! The ghoul set her jaw and mashed her mouth to one side. Alright, alright... she could make this work.

She approached Mort and tried to get a peek at his hands.

"What did you get...?

"Beans," Mort replied with as much of that optimistic smile as he could. "Beans . . ." He peeked at her bag in return and blinked. Not beans! "Mrrr . . . Got lucky," he said, pointing out the face paint to Edel with quite the ^^; face. "Afore we go, w-will ask sommat."

It made him wonder. Hmm . . . He turned to the professor and asked, "Can work with more than one person?" He didn't want to leave either ghoul out, and to be honest he needed help given what his box contained.

"S....sir? You wanted to see me after class?" The little monster made her way over towards the teacher, wanting to get the discussion with him out of the way before she went about getting her box of homework items. While she had a general idea of why she was being asked to stay after it did nothing for her nerves what so ever and Chuppi stood with her fingers in her mouth, her body slightly trembling as she waiting to hear what the teacher had to say.

"Ehhh....ehhh?" Chuppi did look like a fish that was going to be sliced open, mostly because she was now being told she had to do that exercise anyway and all on her own. People were watching, right? That thought made her downright nervous, but hadn't she come here to try and get over that?

Her whole body seemed to puff up as she thought of what to do and, without thinking about anything, to monster attempted a scare that ended up with her just...walking into something. Thankfully most of the students were gone but it was very clear she had failed, and Chuppi wilted.

Waddling over towards the homework assignments, she looked down and then back at the teacher. "Two it is then."
