Adalaide came into the room quietly, her eyes scanning the desks, lighting up a little when she spotted Michelle. She took very slow, light steps, not really trying to sneak without being seen so much as not wanting to disrupt the lesson in progress. She couldn't believe she'd been late! But, she'd misplaced her History book, which was probably a really important thing to have. She'd only found it a few moments ago, sitting on an armrest in the Common Room. How it'd ended up there, she'd never know, but it was in fact her book. She gave Michelle a strained smile as she sat on the side of her opposite Marina. "I lost my book," she mumbled, clearly upset about it. She noticed Marina then, and gave the Slytherin a small, nervous smile. She recognized her as the girl who'd butted heads with Damien on the trip to the castle... if she recalled correctly, the two hadn't been getting along since then, either. Which made Marina okay in Ada's book, but she was still nervous. So, she mumbled a quiet "Hello," to the girl, then took out her newly recovered book and parchment and quill to take notes. "What did I miss?" she asked, her voice low. She didn't want to disrupt the lesson.

Damien wanted to laugh when Adalaide tried, very unsuccessfully, to sneak into the lesson late. The little brat had been late! Poor, sweet Adalaide was going to lose House Points for being tardy! It filled him with a sick sort of glee, that he was so happy to see her doing something to get in trouble for. She'd been a thorn in his side all year, showing him up in Charms, turning people against him... it was about time she got some bad luck of her own! After allowing himself a moment to revel in that before turning his attention back to the lesson. The amusement left his eyes as he listened to the professor. He was curious what sort of opinion their professor held on the views of the founders. Obviously, Salazar Slytherin had been right about keeping out the trash, but he was sad to admit to himself that very few people felt that way anymore. There were even halfbloods in the noble house of Slytherin, something he was sure had their founder turning in his grave. He leaned on his fist, not really caring to ask. His opinions on blood were best kept to himself, he knew, at least in the classroom setting.

Marina grinned. "Well, that's true." She suspected that Michelle was serious about the what she had said, but wasn't particularly bothered. Being manipulative wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Couldn't you be a manipulative b***h for the forces of good? "Hi," she greeted Ada, noticing the shy Hufflepuff seemed rather flustered about being late. Marina could sympathize. She was always getting lost and showing up late. "Yeah, don't worry about it. Classes have only just started. The professor's just talking about the early history of Hogwarts." She noticed Damien looking delighted as if someone had given him a piece of cake, or in his case, imprisoned anyone with a drop of muggle blood in them. What a loser, getting all excited because Ada was late. What had she ever done to him? The boy had some serious problems. She shot him a disgusted glare, brown eyes flashing angrily. "Arsehole," she muttered under her breath, looking at him with distaste.
