Will you catch me

Upon entering the infirmary Camilla was caught entirely by surprise. There was at least two or three teachers and no Kayl. Feel out of place Camilla backed up to leave when she was caught by Gannon and silently instructed to move away from the door and over to another adult. Moving quietly as she could she surveyed the room. Looking from each adult to the tiny creature on the bed pressing her tiny hands against another more sickly looking creature. They looked similar so perhaps they were the same species. But the tiny sick looking one was in bad shape. That much she could discern from the tension in the room. It didn't seem like the tiny creature was able to help her comrade and it didn't seem like the school doctors could help either. Seemed like the sick creature was doomed. Camilla had many questions but she didn't think it was appropriate to talk given the current circumstances. She was out way past her normal bedtime and with the teachers here she was sure she'd get reprimanded if she stepped much farther out of line.

A short time later Kayl had come rushing into the room. Camilla's eyes lit up. Finally, someone, she knew and could talk with. Maybe figure out what was going on. But that thought was cut short as a young woman was in tow. Camilla hadn't seen her before. But her and Kayl seemed...friendly to say the least. Tilting her head slightly Camilla moved forward subconsciously, trying to get closer to Kayl. As Kayl let the girl go and she began to speak Camilla stopped in place once more. She was standing a few feet behind Kayl at this point. As she picked up the tiny sick creature, Camilla watched her curiously. Perhaps she was going to use her raiment. Was she a healer too? But not long after the girl started she began to writhe in pain and cry silent tears as it seemed she was being attacked or something. Camilla was slightly disturbed but more concerned, to say the least. She felt this was the same feeling Azura and Julia felt when she had gone through her rebound in front of them. After what felt like forever the girl suddenly collapsed. Kayl catching her before she was able to fall and potentially hurt herself. Laying her on his lap she began to sob into her hands after the tiny creature was put back on the bed. She had seen or felt something truly disturbing to have her react the way she was reacting. As if her curiosity was felt by the girl she stated that all who wanted to witness what she had witnessed would need to grab hold of her. Camilla being quite unsure about this situation at this point wasn't committed to grabbing the girl. But when Kayl did so, so would she. Taking her right hand she gently grasped the girls arm and waited to see what would happen next.

The attempts made by Merek and Vivian to heal the fae had no effect. Their raiments cannot heal an affliction that was caused by magic, especially since they do not know what spell was cast. At this point, there was nothing left that they can do but pray that Argos will pass away peacefully, even though it may not be that way given his current state of shock and the events that transpired in his village that must have been horrifying. Silme is still trying to heal Argos, but it does not seem to be working. This had to stop, for it was only delaying the inevitable, but then someone new came into the infirmary. The new woman, Lelyna, said, "Take me to him.", and Kayl did just that. Merek stood back while she did what she intended to do, which is to retrieve the memories of Argos. If she can do that, then perhaps they will know what happened to him and figure out how to stop this from happening again, be it the fae or humans. Merek can only imagine the others were feeling similar thoughts to him when the first sign of trouble began for Lelyna. It started with a painful sounding gasp, followed by the body becoming rigid and head tipping back until the eyes were looking at the ceiling. It was like the woman was being possessed by a supernatural force, but it must be her experiencing what Argos had gone through. Minutes have gone by and she was getting worse. The tears that were subtle became more apparent, and the rigid body resembled that of a statue before one last sob of anguish signaled the end of Lelyna's strength. Kayl caught her before she could fall to the floor, and Argos remained safe within her hands. She spoke of something not being possible before asking someone to take Argos away from her. Merek stepped forward and removed the creature from Lelyna's hands and placed him back on the infirmary bed. What was it that she saw that caused her to become like this? Rather than tell them, she is willing to let them all see it if any of them took hold of her. Merek did not hesitate to be one of the individuals to do this since he wanted to learn about these tragic events. It might leave him in terrible shock and awe, but he felt it was his responsibility to know in case his help is needed again.

"Argos..." Sylrenya let out with an sob as she now knew what everyone else knew about his condition. Kayl felt his own eyes well up slightly at Sylrenya's cries. Hearing that there wasn't anything they would be able to do for Argos was already pretty heart renching to begin with, but once Lelyna started to react to the memories Kayl was unable to keep a straight expression. Looking to Sylrenya then, who had tried to be as brave as she could possibly be, he could see in her face the torment that was eating at her. Throughout the whole ordeal, she had been focused on trying to keep Argos alive, but it didn't mean she was distracted from hearing everything around her. Her heart sunk when she heard there wasn't anything they could do for Argos, and when Lelyna had arrived with Kayl, Sylrenya knew more then anyone why she was there.

Tightening his fist as he watched Lelyna's painful endeavor and distressing emotional reaction, he already knew that Argos must have seen much more then they would have fathomed. As Lelyna cried out, Kayl looked around the room at the many faces being expressed by the others, all ranging from curiosity, distress, anxiety, and sadness. Kayl nearly gasped when he looked upon Sylrenya's face, as the tears poured from her eyes endlessly even though she so bravely kept her eyes Argos and Lelyna without averting her gaze. She was determined and very brave, but that didn't mean it didn't affect her, the pain and worry were written all over her face.

Almost just as sudden as the strong reactions that Lelyna had to Argos's memories, she had suddenly gone faint and started to fall. Kayl quickly caught her using his own body to cushion her lack of strength as he lowered her to the floor. Sitting semi-upright, leaning against him now, she audibly sobbed into her hands until she was able to regain what little of her composure as she was able. 'Not possible?' Kayl thought to himself at her sudden words. Kayl had already expected the worse, but now it seemed maybe even he didn't know what to expect. When Argos was returned to the bed, Sylrenya went to his side once more and spoke a few words into his ears that none but Argos could hear.

As Lelyna instructed the others what to do, Kayl looked down at her knowing that she would likely be overexerting herself with what he thought she was planning to do. "Are you sure? Lelyna..." He asked almost rhetorically, as he already knew what her answer would be. In a way, he just wanted to make sure she was ok but knew what had to be done. Placing one of his hands in hers, he looked up at the others as each one placed a hand somewhere along Lelyna's arms. Even Sylrenya looked as though she was going to bear this burden. She brushed Argos' hair back briefly with a kind face before looking at Lelyna as she gave her warning to everyone. Sylrenya then flew over to Kayl and Lelyna, landing on Lelyna's shoulder with a confident, angry, sad, yet determined face. As she placed her hand on Lelyna's neck, she closed her eyes in preparation, "Show me... Lelyna..."

Both Gannon and Elijah watched in shocked awe as Lelyna took charge and moved to the side of the bed to cradle Argos in her palms. Both men looked at one another for a brief moment before turning their attention back to the task at hand. Poor Silme was already crying, having come to the same conclusion as the rest of them – there was no helping poor Argos. But, with Lelyna’s help, there was a possibility that they could help her people.

However, when Lelyna began to show signs of distress, her outward reaction to what she was seeing caused his heart to break; Gannon knew that something was deeply wrong. Both Gannon and Elijah found themselves coming forward a little, as if to support her. They both knew her raiment well and knew not to touch her while she used her power, lest the connection be severed. But soon, the temptation became clear – Lelyna was in emotional pain from what she as seeing and the urge to want to stop it was nearly undeniable.

Hands fisted, Gannon and Elijah stood in their places, waiting for the moment when the connection was broken by Lelyna herself. The moment it was severed, she collapsed. Gannon moved forward as if to catch her by Kayl was right beside her and easily caught her weight and helped her to the floor in a semi-seated position.

Like everyone in the room, the two faculty members were concerned for Lelyna. They knew how fragile she could be. But despite the risk, Lelyna offered to show them all what Argos had shared with her, at the same time. Normally Gannon would have ordered Lelyna to rest, to show them all later once she was at her full strength, but this was a literal life or death situation and it couldn’t wait.

Following Camilla, Kayl, Lerato, Vivian, Silme and Merek’s example, Gannon and Elijah stepped forward and reached out to place their hands on Lelyna. Gannon took one of her hands, holding it reassuringly in his, while Elijah placed his hand upon Lelyna’s shoulder in a show of support. All they could do was brace themselves for what was to come.

There was a short silence as Lelyna stood there. The room was thick with anticipation. Everyone seemed to want to know what had happened. The silence and stillness was broken when it seemed that a wave of pain shot through the girl. As more time passed, the pain she felt became more clear.

Fidal was worried, but there wasn't much he could do that others weren't already doing. When the girl offered to show all what had happened, Fidal wasn't going to refuse the offer. If she went through this much pain, then the rabbit was willing to learn what happened. Softly he thumped over to her as she was being sat down and he gently placed a paw on her leg to let her know he was there before he nudged her free hand with his nose.

One everyone had grabbed a hold, Vivian, Merek, Gannon, Elijah, Kayl, Camilla, Lerato, Fidal and Silme, Lelyna closed her eyes and gathered her strength. None of them had any indication of what they were about to experience. Not only would they be spectators of what had happened at the village, but they would experience it first hand – as if they were Argos himself. His thoughts, his feelings, his emotions, his pain, all of it would be there’s to experience…Lelyna suspected than more than one of them would regret what they were about to receive, for they would never be able to forget it…

    -------- Beginning of Argos's Memory --------

"Argos!" A familiar voice rang out over the trees as a young female Fae with bright crimson hair dove from the sky, nearly tackling Argos to the ground, knocking him out of the sky. He hit the ground with a loud thud before rolling up to his feet and raising a fist to the air. "Raia! Get back here!" Argos yelled out before darting into the air after the young Fae, who flew about the village evading him at every turn. The village was sparkling with life. Animals from all over were plentiful here, eating and sharing the flora and fauna of the forest as the Fae sprung about, tending the forest and all that lived in it. The area was rich with magic and energy, and the Fae were completely restless as usual.

Chasing the young female Raia through the trees, Argos stretched his arms out as far as he could just as he was catching up to her. But when she suddenly came to a stop, he had to quickly flap his wings to fly over her without crashing into her back. "Raia, what was that all about… sheesh… What are you doing?" Argos asked as he flew next to her and looked down through the tree’s branches. Eyes wide and completely surprised, Argos couldn’t believe what he was seeing. "I-is that a Human?" Argos let out with a slight shriek as he looked to Raia and then back down towards the ground. Walking, no, more like limping very slowly through the forest, was what looked like a very, very old man.

Suddenly flying off towards the center of the village, both Argos and Raia needed to warn the village elder right away. Flying into the heart of the village, they quickly flew to the oldest living Fae, who had been tending to some flowers near a large boulder on the edge of the tree line. "Elder Soren, Elder Soren, a man approaches!" Raia yelled out as they neared him. "What!?" Soren let out while looking up at all of the Fae that were out and about in the village. Looking up at them all, Soren brought his hands up above his head and let out a loud powerful clap. His hands glowed slightly just before the clap, and the sound of his clapping hands magically pulsed out in all directions, causing all the Fae in the area to suddenly take shelter in the trees, hiding behind branches, behind rocks, in the grass, in the ground, while looking out cautiously and carefully.

The Elder was no exception, flying high into the trees followed by Raia. Argos also flew up into the trees and hide behind a branch facing towards the center of the village. As the man came closer, it looked as though he was either injured, or ill. He could barely move properly and was struggling hard to walk forward. His body looked as though he was nothing more than skin and bone, he looked as though he could pass away at any moment. The man tripped over a rock as he neared the villages center and fell upon the grass seemingly unable to continue. 'He doesn’t look well, wonder what he’s doing here, or rather, how did he even get here…' Argos thought to himself as he peaked out from over the branch. The man laid in the grass unmoving for a moment before rolling onto his back. Breathing hard, and resting now, the old man’s eyes could be seen for the first time as he looked up towards the sky. His eyes looked as though they had lost all color long ago, much like his hair and likely even his skin. He was wrinkly from head to toe and was likely at the end of his life.

Out of the corner of his eye, Argos suddenly saw the Elder fly out from the high branches of the trees and land beside the stranger. The stranger didn’t seem to respond to him, however. Argos figured the Elder was being cautious, and kept his invisibility up, but also wondered what in the world the Elder was doing. Surely the man would pass away, and the Fae could continue as they always have. Argos was somewhat confused but realized that the Elder must have been taking pity on the man. Argos wasn’t sure he would fault him for this, after all the man didn’t look like he would last much longer. After a moment, the Elder placed a hand on the old stranger, and a soft glow started to form on the stranger’s arm. The Elder looked to have said something to the stranger, but Argos was too far away to be able to hear it. The Stranger in kind reciprocated words of his own, as they started to have an exchange. Still, Argos couldn’t hear what was being said. Perhaps he was speaking words of gratitude, the Stranger smiled for a moment after all. Peeking around the branches at the other Fae in the area, all of them seemed to be watching, curiously keeping eyes on the Elder and the Stranger.

He wondered what the other Fae were thinking, wondered if they too were imagining what was being said. As he looked from one tree to the next, one branch to the next, one root to the next, each Fae that Argos found hiding amongst them was staring down at the center of the village, in the grass where the Strange man lay, but when he suddenly saw expressions of shock upon another Fae’s face, Argos quickly looked down to the ground to see the Stranger holding Elder Soren firmly in his grasp, a smile still brazen upon his face. He said something to the Elder Fae, something Argos could not hear, and suddenly the Elder Fae let out a scream that deafened the entire village. The silence would be unbearable, and everyone looked on, frozen in disbelief for a moment as the Stranger lifted his other hand into the air, revealing a strange trinket as he opened his palm to the sky. As all the Fae pressed forward and looked on, they all started to scream when the Elder Fae’s body went rigid, and then started to break apart and disintegrate, simply faded away like dust in the wind.

Argos couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He completely froze on the branch, shock completely overtaking his face. In that moment several Fae suddenly charged from the trees, angry and crying as they billowed up as much energy as they could to release powerful tirades of magic upon the Stranger, their anger at what they had just seen clouding their judgment. However, before any of them could release their magic, the old man quickly released a pulse of magical energy from his outstretched hand that shot out in all directions, and this wave of magic pushed back and quickly disrupted many of the Fae’s magical energy, including their special ability to become invisible and hide away.

Argos felt the pulse go through him, and he started to feel sick to his stomach. He looked down at his arms seeing his magical energy in a form of influx, pulsing back and forth. Gasping loudly, he looked up at the others, who were doing the same, and then panicked when he saw them all starting to fly as fast as they could away from the stranger old man. Even the Fae who had been blindly charging forward to attack the Old Man were now turning around and trying to fly away as fast as they could after being affected by the wave. Argos took a step back in fear and was just about to fly off as well, to escape like so many Fae were now doing. But none of them could have expected what came next.

The next pulse of energy that shot out of the Stranger’s palm shot out like a shockwave in all directions, forming a large arcing sphere of energy that pulsed out faster than the Fae could fly. Argos was instantly struck by it, and suddenly… he couldn’t move. His arms wouldn’t move, his legs wouldn’t move, his head and neck, his wings. He was completely paralyzed standing on the branch looking over the knot he had hidden behind, but it was so much worse than he could have imagined. For he wasn’t the only one. Watching in horror as fellow Fae fell out of the skies, pouring down to the ground like rain as they all landed in the grass and bushes through the forest. Argos could only watch in horror as he realized that all of the Fae were struck down and paralyzed just like him.

Watching in pure terror now, Argos’ gaze was locked upon the entire scene in front of him. He couldn’t turn his head or close his eyes if he wanted to, and he didn’t know what to think as the Old Man lying in the grass lowered his left hand, placing the trinket that he held up earlier, back down around his neck. After a moment, the Old Man could be seen muttering something to himself, and then he brought both of his hands up in front of him once more and again a magical energy started to form. This time, however, the energy that was forming wasn’t coming from the Stranger. It was coming from all of the Fae that had landed close to the central village, close to his prone form. The Fae laying in the grass in all different kinds of frozen positions suddenly had energy pouring out of them and slowly gathering into a large magical orb in front of the Old Man’s outstretched hands, and the orb slowly grew and grew until it was about the size of a large melon. As the energy pulled out of and spread from the frozen Fae, Argos could hear their ungodly cries, screeching and attempting to scream through their frozen expressions. What was worse, was as the energy pouring forth into the glowing ball of magic condensed, the energy from the ball started to pull into the Old Man’s hands, entering and slowly pushing up his arms as the Old Man tilted his head back in an intense physical reaction.

The energy poured into him, and at that moment the Old Man suddenly was lifted off the ground. He floated to his feet before holding out the orb in one hand before him, his other hand lowering to his side as it formed a fist. As the magical energy continued to pour into his body, the Old Man started to change right before Argos’ eyes. His skin started to fill out and plump up as the muscle underneath reformed and regrew, and his body changed slowly from boney and aged, to muscular, toned, and youthful. In those moments, as Argos saw the change happening before him, the first of the Fae closest to the Stranger, like the Elder Fae before them, started to break apart, disintegrate, and fade away in the wind.

As if insatiable, the not so Old Man looked around with dark colored eyes as he opened his free hand and started to move it in a strange somatic movement. When he closed his fist once more, suddenly an abnormally strong gust of wind started to blow through the forest, blowing from all directions towards the Old Man. Argos could feel his body start to lift and get pulled towards him as well, and he knew at this moment, that this was it. He was going to be pulled to the Man, and like the others he was going to die and disappear forever.

The things that passed through Argos’ head were immeasurable. However instead of falling to the grass below and being subjected to whatever tortures the rest were forced to bare. Argos’ leg got deeply caught in the knot where he was hiding when this all started. Argos was pressed against the branch, and the winds blowing him forward felt as though it was going to rip his leg right off. But he remained. He remained… only him. Looking down at the ground, the entire grass field at the center of the village was covered in Fae as if the whole of the village had been pulled to his feet, including Raia who had landed right at the Stranger’s feet.

'Raia! No…!' Argos thought as he tried to move his body as much as he could. He strained, and he struggled, but it wouldn’t matter, no matter what he did, his body simply wouldn’t move. Again, all he could do was watch as like before all the magical energy started to pour out of all of the Fae on the ground. Like before, the energy poured up into the orb at the Stranger’s outstretched hand, and like before, it condensed and then poured into the man’s arm. As he stood there, draining the very life from the Fae around him, the Old Man continued to change and revert in age. His white hair, slowly turned black as it regrew out from his skull, stretching and growing until it reached just past his waist. The muscles underneath his wrinkly skin continued to strengthen and bulk up until they had become firm as his skin tightened and stretched over his body firmly instead of loose and wrinkly. His eyes changed from bland and grey, to dark and full as they started to retain their color, however the shade and position of the man prevented that color from shining through.

One by one, the Fae bled out magical energy until there was nothing left, and their bodies disintegrated into the wind, and the constant pull of magical energy even started to affect the trees and plants around him. Argos’s eyes welled with tears as they poured from his face, but there was nothing he could do. Nothing at all. As the last of the Fae finally dissipated and disappeared, Argos had no more tears to shed, and he could no longer see any of the fae, not one, not the kind elders, not the playful children, not Raia. As the last of the energy from the magical condensed ball of energy poured into the man and disappeared. The now younger stranger pulled both arms in by his side while making tightened fists, and he screamed at the top of his lungs. A terrifying heart-wrenched scream that filled the air and echoed for miles as the magical energy pulsed off his body for a moment. Standing straight up now, the Stranger didn’t say a word, but simply turned and walked out of the clearing, and back into the forest from whence he came…

    -------- End of Argos's Memory --------

As the vision ended, Lelyna gave a small, strangled cry before her body went limp against Kayl’s protective hold. Her eyes rolled back into her head as she passed out from overexertion, her raiment’s negative effects taking a hold of her and dragging her under into the blackness of oblivion…

Lerato's eyes remained closed the entire time as the link was shared throughout everyone in the infirmary. The revelation, the memory, of the incident would be played out in his head, like a moving picture book. His brows creased in effort as he kept a firm grip on her as the story was narrated from the memories stored in her mind. The community disintegrating as the man became younger, the life energy revitalizing him, and the village was now nothing else but a wasteland. And this poor fae who had been the companion had witnessed it all firsthand, all leading to the mission Gannon had accomplished, though the information gathered was mostly on a negative note.

When the link was severed due to Lelyna fainting from exhaustion, the court mage was panting, a hand clutching at his chest after he let go of her so that she would rest up later on. Now he knew the truth. The man who had been responsible may be on the loose after that moment, possibly heading to another place where the wind would lead him. And this poor fae had been the sole survivor. The court mage sat down on one of the chairs, having to collect himself after what just happened, and he stared through the window for a moment before glancing at the others. He didn't feel like having to eat right now, or even to continue on with his work immediately after that. He would make sure to rest up in his house once the day's activities would be accomplished. After all, he had overworked himself a bit too much.

As Lelyna let loose the power of her raiment, pouring the memory into her, Sylrenya gasped as she started to experience the entire endeavor. From the playful nature of Argos and Raia to the curiosity of the other Fae. All of it was so nostalgic and beautiful until it happened. Suddenly an old man barely able to walk came upon them and stumbled into the forest clearing that made up the center of the Fae village. Sylrenya felt just as curious as Argos as the Elder Fae had gone to his side. "Gramps," Syl let out under her breath as she tried to understand what he was doing. The Elder Fae must have wanted to ease the Stranger’s pain and suffering, it was likely he was going to pass right then and there. Since the memory was that of Argos however, Sylrenya was unable to keep her eyes on the Stranger. It only took that brief moment when Argos looked away, and suddenly everything had gone wrong. As Argos' fear and anguish poured into Sylrenya, she gasped loudly when the Elder Fae screamed in deafening pain. Sylrenya started to shake lightly in disbelief and fear the moment she saw it, "Grandpa..." Was all that she could muster as her eyes watered and her gaze steadily pierced the air before her. Watching the rest of the scene unfold, Sylrenya almost couldn’t handle it. As her mouth gaped open, the sounds stuck in her throat, she just stood there, frozen in fear as Argos was frozen in fear, until the bitter end.

When the raiment finally broke, and Lelyna fell into Kayl’s arms, Sylrenya stayed put exactly where she was, her wings keeping her in place as she hovered lightly directly over Lelyna. Her gaze shifted to Argos then, and she slowly flew to his side, her tears filling her face and falling onto his arm. Sylrenya placed a hand on Argos’ cheek and lowered her head into his chest as she full on cried now, her sobs filling the entire room almost endlessly. Argos’ eyes also welled up and slowly what little tears he was still able to make fell down his face. After a few minutes, feeling Sylrenya cry into his chest, suddenly his pain started to vanish altogether as his heart finally gave way to the magical paralyzation. Slowly, Argos’ conscious faded out, and his eyes grew dim as Sylrenya continued to belt it out into his chest… until she was unable to feel his chest any longer. As she cried her heart out, Argos’ body finally gave way, and the little Fae like the rest of his village, broke down, disintegrated, and faded into the air. Nothing could have consoled her at that moment, as the Fae dissipated from existence in her arms, all Sylrenya could do was cry…

As Lelyna drew everyone into Argos’s memory, Elijah braced himself for what was to come. He’d received a few memories from Lelyna in the past, but they had always been pleasant. One of the his fondest memories of Lelyna was one she had gifted him with – her at the piano playing one of the most beautiful, heartfelt songs he’d ever heard.

It was because he had received memories from her that Elijah knew what to expect. Once a memory was received, the receiver experienced the event as if they were the one living out the experience. All the emotions, the feelings coursing through that person at the time of the event were theirs to live and experience first-hand. But given Lelyna’s initial reaction to receiving Argos’s memories…Elijah knew that they were all in for an emotional ride.

Sure enough, Elijah found that the memory was almost too much to bare. At first, it seemed that the elderly man was in trouble, or nearing the end of his long life. The fae, cautious, curious and kind, had kept their distance as one of their Elders came forward to help the man. What had seemed like a frail, old man, had turned out to be a monster in disguise.

Before Elijah could even fathom what was happening, he watched in horror as the man seemed to collect the fae toward him. Feeling Argos’s emotions, his pain, his panic, caused Elijah’s own heart rate to hike up. Panting, nearly in a panic, Elijah held on, determined to witness it all. What could only have been a few minutes but had felt like years. The man, with his back to Argos, stood, his body seeming to revitalize from the energy he’d stolen from the little fae.

By the time Lelyna collapsed from exhaustion and overexertion, cutting off the memory, Elijah was crying – tears streaming down his cheeks as silent sobs raked his body. Kneeling next to Lelyna’s unconscious form, he hung his head and openly wept tears of mourning for the lost fae.

“Oh, Gods…those poor fae…” Elijah sobbed, his hand still resting upon Lelyna’s small shoulder. After a few moments, Elijah looked toward Sylrenya, who’d flitted over to Argos. Her small form was huddled over the poor fae as she sobbed her tears openly. His heart clenched even more knowing that Sylrenya’s people were lost, forever.

Like everyone else in the room, it was a long time before Elijah could muster the strength or will to get up. He’d tried to offer some comfort to Sylrenya, but she was inconsolable, and understandably so. Elijah made sure that Lelyna was comfortable in one of the hospital beds before he slowly made his way home. Upon arriving home, he crawled into bed and held Ezra as tightly as he could before he fell asleep as a result of both physical and emotional exhaustion. Elijah wouldn’t be able to stomach talking about what happened until much later that day…

Kayl took a deep breath as he helped to keep Lelyna upright, she was able to sit up a bit on her own, but he could feel that she was physically weak. So when everyone gathered to gain Argos’ memory, Kayl shut his eyes and prepared himself mentally for what he was about to experience. As Lelyna released the memory into them all, Kayl started to feel the emotions and feelings of Argos, and his breathing started to get heavy. As the tragic events started to unfold, Kayl’s eyes immediately started to well up as Argos’ fear and anguish filled him. Merged with his own sorrow at everything he was learning about the Fae village, Kayl couldn’t help but gasp whenever another powerful and distressing moment overpowered the next. From the distraught scream of the Elder Fae, to the dissipation of all of the Fae one by one disappearing into the wind, their very lives stolen from them.

However, as the memory started to reach its end, as Kayl watched on and experienced the tragic event start to reach its close, Kayl suddenly started to feel a deep irrational fear that not only overshadowed but completely overtook Argos’ fear. As Kayl looked upon the form of the Stranger, now younger, now revived, Kayl’s eyes went wide as a completely separate memory suddenly forced its way into his mind, as if the two memories were now competing to be shown to Kayl, Argos’ memory from Lelyna’s raiment, and another memory that Kayl could not explain. They overlapped very briefly causing a break in the memory Lelyna was showing to him. As lelyna continued to push Argos’ memory into him, the scene in his head suddenly jumped from Argos’ memory of the man, standing in the middle of the field taking in the last of the Fae villages energy as he screamed, to a completely different scene where Kayl was seeing himself fight with a man who had similar features to the man in Argos’ memory. Covered in blood, and filled with bloodlust, the man’s long black hair flipped back over his shoulders as he jumped high into the air, forming a large blade from nothing before coming down on Kayl in a powerful attack. The memory shifted back to Argos’ memory then, and Kayl finished experiencing what Argos’ had felt as the Stranger turned and walked out of the forest clearing, ‘from whence he came’.

As Lelyna’s raiment closed the connection, and the memory suddenly stopped, Kayl felt Lelyna’s body go completely limp, and he held fast in order to support her. But as he did, Kayl’s eyes stayed completely wide with terror and fear on his face that far surpassed that of everyone in the room. Something about that other memory had caused Kayl to feel an abundance of pain, suffering, fear, and anguish FAR beyond what Argos’ memory had shown them. Just about panicking now, as his breathing increased to just about hyperventilating, Kayl’s whole body shook with fear and he didn’t know what to do. "Take her… P-please… TAKE HER!" Kayl screamed out while holding Lelyna up for one of the others to help her. As soon as Lelyna was picked up and out of Kayl’s hands, he stumbled to his feet, his body not working as it normally did as it tried to remain frozen in his paralyzing fear. Finally getting to his feet, he couldn’t bear to stay in the room with so many people around him. The emotional turmoil that was flooding him from that strange unknown memory that had forced its way into his mind was literally drowning him, and he needed to escape, he needed some air. As soon as he was able to force himself to stand, Kayl went darting out of the door, slamming into the wall just outside of the infirmary. He held himself up against the wall and started to run as fast as he could out of the Academy…

Gannon had only witnessed Lelyna’s raiment once before – in class. While it was a unique experience, and quiet pleasant when it was a happy memory that was received/exchanged, he knew that they were all in for something beyond description. Holding Lelyna’s hand in his, kneeling at her side, Gannon closed his eyes and waited to receive the memories and the answers they’d all need.

Gannon tried to keep his emotions in check, but experiencing what Argos lived through first hand was too much. Like Elijah, Gannon felt a jolt of panic roll through him and soon silent tears streamed down his face as he watched as one by one the Elderly Man killed each and every fae in the clearing. The magic he used was unlike anything Gannon had ever witnessed. But the more he saw, more of his questions were answered. Where the fae had gone, why everything in the area had seemed drained, why all the wildlife had fled the area…Each piece of the puzzle was presented to him from these memories. But while questions were answered, the memories presented even more pressing questions. Who was this man? How had he done this? What were his intentions now that he was seemingly revitalized? Was this the man who was responsible for all of the disappearances? All of the deaths?

Alas, those answers that Gannon desperately wanted, needed, were out of reach. As the connection was severed by Lelyna as she collapsed, all Gannon could do was continue to grasp her hand and weep his tears. Raising his head, he watched as Silme flew back to the bed and to Argos. The little fae was openly weeping her tears – for her friend, for her people and for herself. It broke his heart to see his friend in such a sate. Just yesterday morning, Silme had been so excited, so full of hope of being reunited with her people…and now, it would never happen.

As Argos’s body finally gave out, as if he sensed that he’d done all he could to show them what had happened, his little heart stopped beating and like his friends and family, his body disintegrated into nothing. This left Silme, curled up on the mattress, crying uncontrollably. Swallowing past the lump in his throat, Gannon had been about to arise and approach Silme when Kayl’s words drew his attention and his concern. Without a second thought, Gannon scooped Lelyna’s limp form into his arms. As Gannon cradled her against his chest, he would only watch as Kayl arose from the floor before steadying himself and then sprinting from the room.

“Kayl? KAYL! Gannon shouted after Kayl as he watched the boy slam into the wall outside the infirmary and then bolt from sight. If he hadn’t been holding Lelyna, he would have gone after the boy, but he could only help one of them at a time… Despite his worry, he knew that Kayl would be alright – he was a strong, intelligent and capable young man…

Arising from the floor, Gannon gently placed Lelyna upon the same hospital bed that Silme wept upon. As he did, Silme seemed to sense that the one next to her was Lelyna. As such, the little fae curled close to Lelyna’s neck and cheek, continuing to cry but in some way, seek comfort and giving it to Lelyna as she still lay unconscious…

Taking the chair next to the bed, all Gannon could do was press his elbows upon his knees as he hunched over and hung his head. Gannon remained at Lelyna’s side, feeling the need to watch over the poor girl after having forced her to push herself past the brink. He made sure that notes were sent to Mikhail and Lelyna’s mother to let them know where she was and why…he could only imagine how they would react to the news…

Brageet insisted upon resting upon his shoulder and cuddling close. She asked him what he’d seen but he hadn’t had the heart to tell her, at least not right away. Sensing his need for comfort, Brageet did all that she could to sooth him as he watched over Lelyna throughout the day…

Camilla closed her eyes and was taken from the reality they had all been in. When she opened her eyes she was seeing through the eyes of the little creature on the bed. She couldn't confirm the suspicion. But she could feel it in her heart. As the memory began and she was taken through a small part of Argos life Camilla smiled. How cute these tiny little creatures were. how peaceful and sweet everything was in his village. But just as Argos concern grew seeing the old man, so did Camilla's. Immediately upon seeing the man, Camilla knew he was trouble. No one just stumbles upon something secret like this. It seemed all the little flying creatures knew it too. But as the elder approached and was tending to the man, h was captured. And then everything happened in the blink of an eye. The magic used by the old man sucked the life energy from the sweet little creatures and funneled into the clearly evil man. Argos pain and sorrow aside, Camilla hated and feared this man before her. Who was he to come here and do this to these sweet creatures! Camilla could feel her face getting wet as tears flowed freely down her face.

And before anyone could do anything to stop the man it was over. Poor little Argos had become frozen, paralyzed and was forced to watch the systematic execution of everyone he knew and loved. As he was forced to sit there and do nothing but watch. The pain, the fear, the deep sorrow he felt in his heart was too much for the young woman. When Kayl's friend Lelyna collapsed, Camilla had basically thrown herself from the crowd. Slamming into the wall Camilla was breathing loudly, gasping for air as she sobbed audibly. Looking from left to right she understood she was no longer in the clutch of the memory, but back in the infirmary. Shaking she held herself and cried. To think there was someone out there capable of such a thing. It was horrifying. But before she could finish wrapping her mind around what had just transpired, Kayl was speaking loudly. Before she could figure out what happened or even try to console him, he was gone and Gannon was yelling after him.

Camilla liked that idea and not too long after Kayl left so did she. Running from the room she sprinted as far as she could, tears still streaming down her face as she ran as fast as she could to her room. She didn't want to be alone but she couldn't be around anyone right now. She just wanted to cry it out with her pillow until she fell asleep. Camilla would run for as far as she could and eventually make it to her room. Camilla didn't know when she'd get out of bed after that, but she knew for sure that she was going to visit Kayl and make sure he was okay.

It was so overwhelming. The experience of Argo's memory through Lelyna made it felt like Merek was actually there. All was well and good until the arrival of the stranger. There was fear at first, although that was more of a fear of being discovered rather than the true threat that was to come later down this trip on memory lane. However, upon seeing this stranger who looked like he was minutes away from opening death's door and entering it with no way to turn back, the elder fae granted him pity. The fear that the fae had turned into confusion. They want to believe that their elder is doing the right thing, but can they trust someone who was not one of them? Unfortunately, none of them had time to come up with a good answer. It was the elder who got caught off guard and the first to experience whatever dark magic that was hurting him. Other fae came to his aide, but they all fell before the stranger too. The rest tried to run away, but the magic of this stranger was far too powerful. All of them, frozen and helpless, were drained of their lifeforce and there was nothing any of them can do about. It was especially difficult, to say the least, to see one of Argos closest companions Raia fall victim to this magic. It was sheer luck that he was not caught in same lifedraining magic that the rest of the fae were, although Merek can assume that Argos does not feel that way. The lifedraining magic the stranger cast allowed him to restore his youth, something that Merek in all his years as a doctor finds sickening. To use the life of others to preserve your own...there is no excuse for it. This madman must be stopped. Horrific and terrifying may not come close to describing what took place in the forest. Everyone in the infirmary was shaken by what they witnessed, some far worse than others. Lelyna was the first to pass out, with Kayl feeling particularly helpless about it. Vivian was the next to follow in Lelyna's footsteps, but Merek was there to catch her and set her down on another infirmary bed. Everyone else remained awake, although Kayl and Camilla both ran out of the infirmary. A few others left, but Merek knew that he had to stay for both Lelyna and Vivian. It is going to be a sleepless night for him, but after what he saw, there was no way he was going to sleep. Upon sitting down on a chair, the shock of the memory finally hit him, causing him to shed tears. That stranger...that monster...they must know more about his magic. It is safe to assume that is dark magic, but either research must be done about this kind of magic or they must seek someone whose knowledge of magic is extensive. He looked at Gannon as if he wanted to say something, but the words refused to come out. Merek remained in silence for the rest of the early morning, keeping a close on eye on both Lelyna and Vivian.

                                          FEELING ▬ ❝ Shocked, afraid, worried LOCATION ▬ ❝ The Infirmary COMPANY ▬ ❝

The vision began with a happy, if not slightly painful, memory. The fae, Argos, was tackled by a seemingly spirited fairy as she messed around. Fidal wished that the memory could end there, however all knew it did not.

Soon, a stranger showed up. Old, withered, suspicious. How had he known the location to the fae village? Even after extensive research to find it for Silme, Fidal had no idea where it could have been. As most of the fae hid, though, one older one went to talk to the figure.

The fairy's words and kind actions to help the old man, to heal him, was paid in return with treachery. The old man had a device that absorbed the old fairy's magic, and in turn the form of the fae disintegrated as he screamed. It was horrible.

Fidal's instincts started kicking in and his body tensed, wanting to run. He tried to calm himself down and could have if the memory ended there, but as the stranger continued to absorb fae and magic, and as the screams continued, Fidal colapsed next to the girl.

As the vision ended, his body sat limp. His mind had snapped, the animalistic side panicking and the human side stopping it from lashing out or bolting. He couldn't move and he couldn't register what was going on around him. How could someone end so many lives, so effortlessly, without feeling?

As Lelyna was moved, Fidal's head slid from her lap onto the floor as his bunny body remained motionless. It would take a while for him to recover and slowly he would begin to stir, but by then the fear would have cemented itself in his mind, a cold reminder of a cruelty that the butler felt would be coming soon.

[ - Begin New Interaction for RP Day - ]

Gannon had spent the previous day and the entire night watching over Lelyna. Upon receiving word that the girl was in the infirmary, her mother Elenora and Mikhail, whom she was in an intimate relationship with, had rushed to the Academy. Neither had left Lelyna’s side since. While Elenora had been concerned for her daughter, Mikhail had been furious. The Prince of Valor had demanded answers, which he’d been given, but nothing anyone said seemed to placate the Royal. Eventually, Gannon had had to put his foot down and assert his authority as the Academy’s Head Court Mage. Mikhail hadn’t liked that either, but he’d relented somewhat.

Seated by Lelyna’s side, Mikhail held her hand and glared daggers at anyone who came or went that wasn’t Elenora. The Prince was right to blame them for Lelyna’s condition. Lelyna had pushed herself to the brink for a very noble cause. Gannon had no doubt that she had known what would happen when she hadn’t rested in-between taking the memories and then offering them up to not only one, but eight people at once. It was dangerous enough for her to give and take back to back with one person, let alone a group, but she had done it to give each of them the answers they’d needed to know. Lelyna had known that the man they’d seen in those memories was dangerous and a threat, so she’d done what she’d had to do to warn them all…and now she was paying for it.

There was no telling how long Lelyna would be unconscious or what other side effects this would have on her, but until she woke up, Gannon wasn’t leaving her…He needed to make sure that she was alright and if that meant enduring Mikhail cursing his very name every other minute in the meantime, then so be it.
