Just a friendly reminder, Resident Evil: Degeneration hits stores tomorrow across the nation. So if you're still in the story and zombie goodness, then you probably already made up your mind.

::U.S. Resident Evil 5 Demo Released::

As much as I really don't want to do this, I like posting articles.

The Resident Evil 5 demo launched on the Xbox 360 today. Speaking with people has uncovered its numerous glitches, including:

- Bad audio/visual sync with voices
- Frozen Axeman
- Slow-moving main character (or perhaps that's just the controls)
- Sheva's AI isn't good
- Disc read error when trying to go online when there's no disc to speak of

More or less, Capcom decides to go cheap again. Big surprise.

::Resident Evil Afterlife - Progress Update::

Here, I'll give you guys something you can actually be excited about, you guys deserve it:

Quote:
Hey guys it's Mr HoRrOr, heres some news on the "Resident Evil" series that I came across. It seems that they are already in the very early stages of planning a fourth film which will take place in Japan. Meanwhile, principal Photography will begin on "Afterlife" this fall. "Germany's Constantin Film and its genre production shingle, Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt's Impact Pictures, are ramping up preparations for a fourth edition of their successful zombie franchise "Resident Evil" before the third film in the series has even begun shooting.

Constantin head of production Martin Moskowicz said in Cannes that the third film, "Resident Evil: Afterlife," will shift locations to shoot in Australia, with principle photography planned for November or December. "Resident Evil 4" will be set in Tokyo, and Impact/Constantin is looking to shoot the film in Japan. "Afterlife" will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies. "Afterlife" will play in the Nevada desert with the Aussie outback standing in for the American wasteland. In the final reel, the action will shift to Japan, setting up the fourth edition.

Milla Jovovich is set to reprise her signature role as zombie slayer extraordinaire Alice though no formal deal has been signed yet. Paul W.S. Anderson, who together with partner Bolt will produce "Afterlife" through their Constantin-controlled shingle Impact Pictures, is finishing the script for the third edition.

::Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Announced::

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Announced at the Resident Evil 5 release party, the game will be exclusively for the Wii. Technically a "sequel" to The Umbrella Chronicles, the game so far seems to follow the story of Resident Evil 2 (as shown by the visually updated Claire above).

The reason for the name "The Darkside Chronicles" instead of "Umbrella Chronicles 2" is a few things, according to Masachika Kawata. First, the story of the game is going to explore certain things unexplained and never brought to light in the original game's story. Secondly, the story will explore "the darker passages of the characters' histories." Finally, the game will supposedly be more horror-oriented than its predecessor.

They've said that the game will cover more than just Resident Evil 2. Speculations include the adventures of the two characters Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield (Code: Veronica X, 4, and Degeneration).

Kawata explains that you'll have more of a feeling of being in the character's shoes with the better camerawork, allowing you to actually see your partner in front of you (except in multiplayer), or actually showing the character reloading, etc. The game uses a Havoc engine for realistic physics. Expect more realistic reactions to gunshots, explosions, and more.

The game is reportedly at 35% completion with no real set release date, but expect it around winter 2009.

Thanks to AngelaAshford for bringing this to our attention!

::Update on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles::

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

GameInformer magazine's May issue has some updates on the upcoming Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. The magazine has officially announced two other scenarios besides the obvious Resident Evil 2 scenario: one revolving around CODE: Veronica X and a new scenario involving Leon in South America.

Speculations are running rampant regarding the South America chapter. Some say that it takes place during CODE: Veronica X, when Claire e-mails Leon. Some say it may even be a mission from when Leon and Jack Krauser were partners. Either way, it seems to be an interesting area to explore.
