In the eastern isles of Carni... "General Fluorspar, we're approaching the eastern islands," one of Selena's advisors said. "We're in enemy territory already. Are you sure its wise to attack with so little light and no idea of the enemy's total wherabouts?" "Minerva. I am your leader. If you do not wish to fight, leave," Selena said coldly. Her blue eyes glowed in the darkness eerily, spooking her advisor. "Y-yes, ma'am," she said, bowing. Selena turned. She already had a strategy in mind. At the south desert of Lenara... "Have our spies found the southern gate yet?" Jade demanded irritably. His advisors scurried like scared rats. "Yes, sir. It has been spotted. But, sir, its manned by hundreds of soldiers! We cannot take them on with this number-" an advisor protested. "Do you wish to protect the High Lady?" Jade demanded. "If we do not prevail tonight, she may die." "O-of course, General Jade. As you say," the advisor stuttered, and he began spewing the conditions of the situation. At the northern glaciers of Igan... "It's freezing..." Emerald muttered. He could see why Fluorspar had ordered him up there. Anyone else's brigade would have been human and nobody ice cubes. "General Emerald. The Heartless Plains are dead ahead," a man said. "With our strong masses, it should be easy pickings." "Assume nothing, Williams. Even now, the enemy could be watching. Be on your guard," Emerald advised. He, too, was observing the obscene conditions in which he had to create a strategy.

While Xoric was inside the poisonous cavern he managed to see some of the socerers in the same clothes as the man he and Emerald defeated together. He noticed they actually seemed to be panicking a little. Hmmm, if it's true that they're enemies of Selena, Emerald, and Jade, then I guess while I'm here, I should help them out a little. Xoric thought wickedly. He conjured many magical orbs and concealed them within all of their artillery and long range weapons. Satisfied, Xoric moved more steathily to a huge room in which he could tell, was the leader of this group or division. Xoric coughed and was almost caught by a guard if he didn't jump up to the ceiling. I don't know how much longer I can last... Xoric thought beginning to weaken. Suddenly, memories of his childhood home entered his mind. He remembered his happiness and he thought of Briana's face as she worried over him when one day he had gotten a large cut on his arm. In his mind, she was still there worrying about him. Fueled with veangence, Xoric entered what may be the last battle he'd ever be in.

As Selena began her master plan, something tugged at the back of her mind. There was a cave not too far off, and there was something wrong with it. She sensed an aura of someone she knew inside, but she wasn't quite sure who. To find out meant leaving the siege upon the isles, which, although was going quite well, was scary. Suddenly she knew. He had run away after she told him, maybe not directly, but he was here now. Xoric, you should have waited for us! Selena thought. Now she was at an impass. She knew that Emerald had past connections with Xoric, which was part of the reason why they helped him in the first place. "Minerva," Selena said robotically. The advisor ran over. "I'm putting you in charge for now. I have some other business to attend to." The advisor bowed shakily, taking a copy of the master plans from Selena. Selena knew that this would seriously hurt her reputation, but she couldn't afford to lose an outside ally. "Xoric, this better be worth it," Selena said, riding into the poison cave. Along the way, she met no enemies, which was how she knew he had come that way. "You better not die on me."

Selena burst into the cavernous room in time to see yet another cloaked man, pointing his palm at Xoric's head. "No, look out!" she said, charging head first into the cloaked person. He had not expected anyone, and fell backwards from the force, shocked. She got out a pair of knives, and whipped them around cruelly, smashing the skinny man into submission. "Very...good. But though...you siege the Dark Hall...you will fall...to my master." Those were the cloaked man's dying words. Selena ran over to Xoric. "Great. I'm going to get you to a healer, and fast," she said. "I have troops outside. I'll get someone to help..." she said. She coughed. The poison was getting to her, too. Although, it sounded a lot like something else... She didn't want to think about that. Seeing as Xoric seemed to be in such pain, she said, "I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to carry you." She picked him up, and began a straight run out of the cave. It was collapsing somehow, and pieces were falling everywhere, making it hard to go. As the end of the cave was in sight, they pair burst out, Selena calling out, "Minerva! Get me a healer, and-" she began choking uncontrolablly, unable to breath. "He..al... heal...er" she tried to choke out the word. Luckily, the worried advisor came running over, a band of valkyries with her. They escorted Xoric and Selena to their new HQ, at what had once been a Dark Kingdom occupied Carni Isles, Minerva informed her choking master, "Well, we won." Selena nodded, catching her breath.

Jade wasn't doing so well. His battle was still raging. "You there!" he snapped. "What's our casualty rate?!" His advisor stuttered a number, and Jade sighed angrily. He shoved the man out of the way, muttering, "I have to do everything myself." He stormed into the battle, and as he fought, he lived up to his nickname, the Flame General. Not only did he literally fight fire with fire, setting his enemies to blaze with magic, but he had a personality to match. With him on the field in his firey rage, the battle lasted five more minutes, and then it was all over.
Emerald, with his genius mind, had excellent strategy going. He was sending his enemies in circles. Williams scurried over. "General Emerald, sir. The field is clear. They were no match for your genius." Emerald smirked. "Is that so? I was such hoping for more of a challenge."

Selena looked at Xoric's unconscious form on the ground, and got someone to get him back into a reclining position. "General..." Minerva said softly. "What?" Selena demanded. "That cough... With all due respect, you should not be out on the field. I heard it before from the High-" Selena cut Minerva off with a cold shrug. "I am most certainly not unfit for this battlefield, advisor. And I suggest that you keep your mouth shut, or you may find yourself being sent back," she said dismissively. She left the room quietly, leaving a shamed advisor.
Jade's throat suddenly cleared. The air was normal. He rubbed his throat, thinking. Then he decided it was nothing, and ordered, "Men, at ease, but keep on some guard! You never know what...foul creatures roam these lands."
Emerald felt the itch to cough fade, and came to the conclusion that it was the dry, northern air. He, too, gave the same order. They were to wait for the signal from Fluorspar.
