They've said it's not likely to happen, though, because the PS3 is actually more powerful, particularly in graphics, than the PS4.
There will be a significant chunk of the PS3 game list, even with the digital versions, that simply wouldn't be able to replicate themselves on the PS4 hardware.

At least, that's how I understood it from what I read.

I'm pretty sure it's a fair bit better than the PS3, actually. In the processing department if nothing else. ^^ Though I'm still gonna wait a year or so to get it, just to give them time to work out the manufacturing bugs... XD

The PS3 is still a pretty good console overall, with lots of fun games, so... yeah.

Think of the discs for the PS3 and PS3 like a piece of paper.

The PS3 is a much bigger piece of paper, so you can write a lot more on it. But you write on it much slower.

The PS4 is like a smaller piece of paper, which you can put write less on. But it's like a typewriter or something; they can write on it a lot faster.



A better analogy would be reading FROM the paper of course, not writing on it, but...shuddup I'm not good at metaphors. D<

Also developers like the Ps4 a lot more because it's easier to make games for.

Think about when you're posting here in the guild. There are buttons for quote, bold, italic, etc., right?

Now imagine if those didn't exist and you had like, one button leading to a catalogue, and you had to go through and find a bunch of codes like , and type them in manually, and then mark them as active.

Comparatively, just having the buttons is a lot simpler, right?

Well it was basically the same thing. The tools/buttons for developing on the Ps3 were laid out very poorly like that, so it took people fooorrrreeeveerrr to do what were simple things on other consoles.So they simplified that for the Ps4.

The fact that developers like it has almost noooothing to do with the hardware.
