"Maybe I should go for a walk to see if I can find a place that doesn't stink," I said, thinking about the meadow I had found. That rock was starting to call my name.

Kiba followed her to protect her. The demon could be anywhere and he didn't want her to see that horrible beast. He looked around as he followed, everything seems to be clear.

Larka snickered at the two creature's spike in excitement. "Nothing too big now. Or you two can go off hunting something wild and rare and I'll just find a nice buck. I'm barely big enough to be a Wolf, let alone as large as you two. I wouldn't be any help other than tracking, and many of the things Bakher mentioned I've never seen! Besides, it's no fun just putting my nose to the ground. I need some action and excitement!" She laughed again and shook her head. "I'm fine if you two wanna go and get something for yourselves. I'll be careful and stay as close to the Den as possible."

I headed to the meadow, knowing that Kiba was following. As we walked, the stench seemed to lift from the air, or I was getting used to it. I hoped that it was leaving the area. Soon, I pushed through the thick brush and came to the meadow, the rock practically demanding my attention, so I leapt on top and laid down after looking over the place.
I was curious as to why Kiba had followed, but I could have guessed a few reasons. There was an odd tension rolling off of him now, not his usual energy. I looked over at him from my place on the rock, "You know... You're not really fooling me. There's something on your mind."

"You shouldn't worry yourself about it. It's just a personal issue." He smiled as he jumped onto the rock as well, laying next to her.

"Hm..." I wanted to roll my eyes, but let it drop. I had come to know him a little better than that. Plus, he had already shared something more than personal with me yesterday. Was he afraid another confession would scare me away completely? Hopefully not, since that was not the case. I was growing closer, but it took a little time for me.

"So how did you sleep?" I asked, changing the subject. Anything would be better than talking about a demon.

"Good, until I lost the crystal and thought I attacked you." I sighed, wondering how long he was going to avoid the real issue.
The meadow seemed to help calm me down, even though I was already in a bad mood. The water flowing somewhere behind the trees was quiet, but still present. And the few creatures that made their noises were company enough. It was odd coming to a place like this with Kiba, but it didn't feel wrong.

Kiba sighed and looked at her. "Look, I know I'm being distant, but I have my reasons. I don't want you to worry if something happens. I just want to protect you."

"But that's not your duty..." I mumbled. "You're supposed to protect the pack first, right? Not someone who wandered into your cave by accident." I sighed, realizing I was unconsiously quilt triping him. "I'm sorry," I said, "I didn't mean to attack."

"No, you are right. My duty is to the pack first...but my way of protecting you is not telling you. Whatever is causing this is a threat to the pack and I will have to kill it.....I just....don't want you to get involved."

"But wouldn't you think, if I was more educated I would fare better?" I glanced over at him, trying to see his expression. He could be difficult to read.

He looked down at Larka, then nodded in agreement; compared to himself and Kirias, she was tiny.
Oh well, I'll make sure to bring her something back from our kills
He looked up at Kirias, and clicked his beak to get her attention.
"Ssssso. Ssssshall we hunt?"

"Well....remember what we talked about last night.....I fear that one has entered our world." He said, looking around to make sure one doesn't appear.

"Oh..." I said quietly. I really had nothing else to say, but I was glad that he finally told me. "Thanks for telling me," I said.
