{Ok, class ended} Rikka smiled as the teacher looked at the clock. The teacher clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. "Excuse me! Does anyone have a watch?" A short girl stood up and handed the teacher her watch. The teacher gasped audibly. "Class ended about five mintues ago, class! Have a nice day! Practice your elements!" He gathered up some of his materials and rushed out the door before any of his students could. ~ Frost sighed as the bell rang, ten minutes early. "Huh?" The teacher frowned at the clock. "Not again. Dammit." He put his matches down. "Get outta here, you amateur firestarters! The clock's are wrong. Again!" Frost hopped out of his seat, suddenly anxious to see Rikka. ~ Kaen toyed with the red flame. Blaze silently wrote a short note. A girl with red highlights in her brown hair smirked at him as she walked up. "Hey, Blaze." Blaze just about fell out of his seat. "N-natalie?!" He looked terrified. Kaen glanced at the obviously fire oriented girl. She was wearing the fire rune on her shirt and had her hair flowing like waves of heat. Natalie's smirk grew. "Blaze, you never wrote back to me. Don't you like me?" She sounded like she enjoyed watching him squirm. Kaen made the red flame go directly to blue. She was pissed again. Blaze noticed the flame and tried to calm down. "Uh... About that, Nat.... I uh..." Natalie leaned toward Blaze, getting dangerously close to Kaen. "Guess I'll see you around, Blaze." She walked away quickly, smirking broadly. Kaen banished the flame before she could throw a fireball. "What a b***h." Blaze nodded. "You said it. She was once my girlfriend." Kaen gave him a surprised look. "Wow. I thought you had so much more class." Blaze sighed. "Natalie wasn't always such a b***h. She was once nice. Then she started dating me and knew she could stomp all over me." He covered his face with his hand. "She was using me to get at my brother... She cornered him one day, and I happened to walk close. I heard her trying to flirt with Frost..." Kaen's jaw almost dropped. "Frost?!" Blaze nodded. "I heard her say, 'Blaze isn't nearly as cute as you... He's such a dork... Don't you like me too?' and I looked around the corner to see Frost pushed up against the wall, Nat was trying to kiss him. He threw a snowball in her face and pushed her back. He started yelling at her, 'Blaze is my brother, Natalie! How could you think I liked you like that?! You're my brother's Girlfriend!!' He ran off, leaving her standing there covered in ice. She melted the ice and screamed at him. 'You're making the biggest mistake of your life, Frost!!' I walked out into the open and tapped on her shoulder. I probably looked like hell, having just had my heart ripped out. Nat freaked when she saw me. She tried to hug me and started crying, she's a frickin' actress from hell! She tried to tell me the Frost had her against the wall, trying to kiss her! I just pushed her back and mumbled that we were through. Now she's a bitter b***h bent on ruining my life anytime she has a chance... She's constantly leaving notes in my room and trying to talk to me in public..." Kaen looked at Blaze sadly. "Damn! Twice as bad as I thought.... Want me to set her hair on fire?" She smirked, trying to ease the tension with the poor joke. Blaze shook his head, still looking depressed. "Nat would just run to the principal and get you in trouble. She practically owns the school with her acting skills alone, it doesn't help that her father's also a fire teacher here..." Kaen frowned. "Wait... That wouldn't be our crappy first class-" Blaze nodded. "Yeah. He's flunking me for no reason. That's why people think I suck so much, just because my grade sucks... He's getting me back for 'what me and my brother did.' Nat's just ruining my life so much... I just want to leave but my mom can't afford to send me to another school and won't believe me when I tell her either..." Blaze looked up at Kaen and smiled sadly. "Now I guess I'm also a pathetic loser too. Idiot isn't even a broad enough description..." Kaen looked at Natalie through the corner of her eye. "I think you just had a run of bad luck, Blaze. I'm guessing your luck will turn around eventually." She saw Natalie shoot a glare at Blaze and smiled. "In fact, I think it might just change right now." She leaned forward swiftly, planting a soft kiss on Blaze's cheek. "See ya later, Blaze." She smirked as she stood up, walking past Natalie, who looked half in shock and half in agony. Blaze's eyes opened wide. His face turned bright red as Kaen walked out of the class. The spot on his cheek where Kaen had kissed him felt like someone lit it on fire. He just looked like he was in shock as the bell rang, fifteen minutes late. Ash checked her watch and frowned. "Class was supposed to be dismissed fifteen minutes ago! Rediculous bell system! Everyone practice color change with heat change and make sure you have a bucket of water near you! We don't want what happened last year to happen again! Also, no practicing near the library or dry wood!! Get outta here, have fun, don't set your friends on fire!" Ash smiled as the class filed out. Blaze stood up, feeling like a flame and also somehow feeling numb. he walked out of the class, and into a ring of Natalie's friends. "Oh, s**t." Natalie stood directly in front of him. "And when were you going to tell me about your new girlfriend?!" She was angry and had two flames in her hands. Blaze took a step back. "You know what, Nat?! Maybe you should just back off! I'm not your tool anymore and I'm sick of your stupid harrassment! Tell your father to fix my grade too! He shouldn't be treating his students differently for his daughter's slutty actions!!" He knew he was going to get burned for saying it, but he was already going to get burned for Kaen's kiss. Kaen, who stood just behind the door, threw a blue fireball at Nat, making her jump franically out of the way. "I'm sorry, this's my boy. Not yours, so buzz off." She grabbed Blaze's arm and dragged him off before Natalie could regain her senses. "That was highly dangerous, Blaze! She could've burned you to a cinder!!" Kaen frowned and let go of his arm once they were out of Natalie's sight. "I need to get to my next class. Please, try not to get killed before we can meet up again." She turned and walked in the other direction, waving at Natalie as she walked down the hall. {Hehehe... Something outragous today!}

((*big sigh of relief* Thank you so much.)) Jasna gratefully left the room after the teacher. She turned to Rikka. "So what do you want to do now? Go find Kaen and ask her for advice? I'm going to find Burner and apologize for being a b***h, even though it'll embarrass the hell out of me. Wanna come?" ~ The Air teacher looked at the clock and reluctantly said, "I guess it's time for you to leave, class. Work on your winds and adding other basic elements to your winds so that they are more interesting. The best students may be good enough to progress up to the Advanced class." The class twittered at the thought of more interesting work than summoning basic whirlwinds and discussing how they are special. Thorn grabbed Burner's arm. "A promise is a promise, bro. You've got to find me 'Jasna' and introduce us. No guarantees that I won't ask her out if she's pretty though." Burner's eyes narrowed but after a few moments he tried to hide a grin. Thorn looked confused. "What's so funny?" Burner shook his head. "Oh nothing. Just wondering if you remember my threat about permanent vines?" Thorn went pale and said, "You wouldn't dare." Burner shrugged with a smile and said, "Let's go meet Jasna." ~ Amelie and Litha left the Fire classroom and Amelie said, "I'll meet you later, right?" Litha glared but said, "Sounds about right." And they headed separate directions. Litha saw Burner coming down the hall with Thorn and glanced nervously at the pair. Thorn noticed her and said, "Hey, Litha. How are you? Burner's taking me to meet the new girl. Jasna. Do you know her?" Litha smiled. "Yeah, I've met her." Burner scowled, "And you told her who Cron is." Litha blushed a little. "Yeah... I guess so." Thorn, "Okay, you two. Hostilities later. Let's go meet Jasna." They turned a corner and Jasna stood there, talking to Rikka. Litha called out, "Jasna! How was class?" She turned and smiled. "It was boring as hell, but livable enough. I wouldn't have survived it without Rikka though." Suddenly, Jasna noticed Thorn. "Hi, who're you?" Thorn held out his hand. "I'm... Blake. My friends call me Thorn." Jasna looked inquisitively at him for a moment. "Are you good at Earth?" Thorn laughed and shook his head. "Quite the opposite." Jasna shrugged and turned to Burner. "Look... I'm sorry for calling you an a*****e earlier. You aren't really that bad. I was just really upset because you were showing off to Erin. I'm really sorry. I-is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Burner looked surprised, then gratified. "Well... you could go out with me...?" Jasna glowered. "Don't push it." Burner laughed. "I get the point. How about... a hug? Just a hug?" Jasna retched. "Okay..." She leaned forward and gave Burner a tight squeeze. "Better now?" Burner laughed again. "Yeah. Thanks." Jasna smiled awkwardly and turned around to talk some more to Rikka. Litha was boiling inside. Thorn whispered to Burner, "I guess she's cute but a little... I don't know awkward. She's all yours if you want." Burner replied, "That's good because now I won't have to hurt you."

{No problem. I thought the class seemed a little long...} Blaze walked through the halls and saw Jasna talking with Rikka. He also watched the whole exchange between Jasna and Burner. He smirked, holding back a bark of laughter. "Damn. Go Burner." he muttered quietly. ~ Rikka smiled as Jasna gave Burner his chance. She frowned slightly as she heard Thorn whispering to Burner. Rikka looked down the hall and saw Blaze looking over. He promptly turned his head to avoid her gaze. Rikka almost giggled, he looked really guilty and kinda childish. Blaze remembered the note Kaen gave him. He pulled it out of his pocket and read it slowly. He blushed as he reread it to make sure he wasn't mistaken. "Oh, holy crap..." ~ Kaen walked down the hall and nearly crashed into a guy who was practically running off. She turned and glared, then recognized the boy. Frost turned to apoligize to the girl he nearly ran into, and saw Kaen. "Oh, hey. What's up?" Kaen smirked. "Besides the ceiling, clouds, sky, and birds? I ran into Blaze during my last class." Frost sighed and hung his head. "Where's the body? Or am I taking him to my mother in a jar?" Kaen laughed. "No, no. I didn't kill him. He apologized and helped me with a little fire problem. He also told me a little about himself." Frost sighed with relief. "Thank you for not burning my brother into a pile of ash." Kaen stopped smiling. "I also met Natalie." Frost tensed up. "Please, for the love of god, tell me you didn't let Blaze walk into that minefield..." Kaen looked thoughtful. "Hmm... Technically, I think I created that minefield...." Frost rubbed the back of his head, looking confused. "You've lost me." Kaen hung her head this time. "Well... I sorta antagonized her, a little... Blaze stepped into a ring of her friends and was prepped to set him aflame, but I threw a fireball at her and got him outta there." She looked a little guilty, knowing she wasn't saying everything. Frost noticed. "Antagoized how?" He narrowed his eyes slightly as Kaen sighed. She blew a stray strand of hair out of her face. "I kinda played on their emotions." Frost took a step back. "Wait a minute. You played on their emotions? Does that mean-" Kaen nodded. "I kinda kissed him." Frost just about fell over. "Holy crap! Natalie's going to hunt you both down and try to burn you both! Either that or run off to her father! Crap!!" He put his hand over his face. "I'm pretty sure she'll get Blaze first... He's toast... If she goes after you, I'm sure you'll get her first..." He sounded depressed. Kaen rolled her eyes. "If I have to, then I'll protect Blaze. She'll never touch him." She crossed her arms and sighed. "Just before Natalie came over I was starting to give a few rules to Blaze. Odds are, I've just confused his already messed up mind..."

Jasna saw and heard Rikka giggle. "Hey. What's so funny?" ~ Litha heard Thorn whisper to Burner and turned pink. She wheeled and said, "Look guys. We girls aren't pieces of meat. Just because you think it's fun to do this kind of stuff and say 'Oh, she's all yours.' doesn't mean that the she will want to date the guy that likes her." Jasna spun around at this speech and glared at Burner and Thorn. "What Litha said is right. Michael and Blake, I'm not a piece of meat for you to compete over. Burner, I'm really ashamed of you. I was just nice to you and you repay me by acting like I don't have feelings and I can't hear." She walked to him and quavered for a second before slapping him. "Don't say you don't deserve it." She turned, grabbed Rikka's arm. "Come on. Let's go find Kaen." Litha was dancing inside but said nothing outwardly. Burner and Thorn were both feeling bad about their wounded prides. "Stupid girls. Don't understand anything."

Rikka strained against Jasna's grip. "Wait! Wait! I left my bag!!" She waited for Jasna to let go, she wanted to fix the problem between Jasna and Burner. "Come on! I need my bag!!" ~ Blaze saw Jasna slap Burner. "Crap..." He put Kaen's note in his pocket and walked over as Jasna started to drag Rikka away. He sighed as he turned and leaned against a locker. Not goin' near Jasna while she's that pissed... ~ Frost shook his head. "Crap... When did life go from normal to completely twisted inside out?" Kaen rolled her eyes. "The day you met me. I don't do things in a traditional matter. I don't jump over or walk around an obstical either, I plow through it in a fiery blast." She rubbed her temples. "I'm starting to get a headache and I'm thinking of ditching my next class. Should I go back to my room, or should I just wander around the halls in an angry mood?" Frost shook his head again. "If you aren't going to your class, then just hang in your room. I don't think the faculty will appreciate finding a group of kids on fire..." Kaen laughed. "Nah, they'll just find one kid sized pile of ash." Frost snickered. "You're evil! Seriously though, just chill." Kaen rolled her eyes. "Ugh, ice humor..." Frost started laughing again. Kaen waved as she headed off toward her room.

Jasna sighed and let go orf Rikka. "Go get your bag. I'll wait for you right here." ~ Amelie was walking down the hall towards her next class, when she noticed Kaen talking to Frost. This wouldn't have seemed out of the ordinary had Kaen not been a new student. Figuring that this girl must be Kaen or Rikka, Amelie walked over and said, "Hey Frost. Hi, I'm Amelie. Nice to meet you." She offered her hand for Kaen to shake. ~ Litha turned around to Burner and whispered, "Are you all right?" Burner smiled sarcastically and said, "I don't know. Should I be. I mean, I should be okay, physically. Oh wait a moment... Here it comes! Oh, no! My poor wounded pride! Whatever shall I do?" Litha's eyes narrowed and she said, "I'm trying to be nice, and yet again you're acting the a*****e. I can't believe our lesson didn't even stick for a whole minute. You've got to be more courteous to girls."

Rikka darted back into the classroom, snagging Burner on the way, pulling him away from both Thorn and Litha. Most likely everyone was staring in shock, so Rikka turned bright red as she slammed the classroom door shut behind her, releasing Burner's collar. She turned and sighed. "That was the oddest thing I've done all day..." She covered her face for a minute, trying to calm down. ~ Blaze just about collapsed from laughter as he watched Rikka sprint, grab and drag Burner into the classroom. He was laughing hard enough to need to lean against the lockers. ~ Frost watched Kaen's reaction to Amelie. Kaen tilted her head slightly and crossed her arms. Clearly not going to shake Amelie's hand, she put on an expression of boredom. "Anyway. Seeya later, Frost." She turned and walked down the hall, not even bothering to take a second glance at Amelie. Frost tensed as he waited to either see Amelie snap at Kaen or him for Kaen's rudeness. {Gah! Writer's block!}

((I know. It sucks.... Grrr....)) Burne was surprised when Rikka dragged him into the classroom. Then he started choking. "Air... I need air..." and was happy when Rikka let his neck go. "Thanks... for... letting... me breath..." ~ Jasna looked up and turned curiously to Thorn and Litha. "Hey, Blake? Can I talk to you for a moment?" Thorn was amazed that Jasna would want to talk to him but walked over with a cool air. "Sure. What is it?" "How long have you known Burner?" "A few years... like 4 or so." "Does he treat all girls like that?" "Only the ones he likes but is too embarrassed to say out loud." "Oh, really...?" "Yeah. The pretty ones that are shallow, he takes a mild interest in, but he doesn't like them. Like Litha. She was one of the most popular kids in school before and while dating Burner. Once he dumped her, she crashed to the bottom of the social chain." "Oh... Is that why she hates him?" "No. She's still in love with him. And I think you're being really naive. She wants you to fall. Worse than she fell from grace. Litha's tricky and I don't get why you don't see that." "Why should I believe you?" "You'll just have to believe me." "Whatever. Thanks for telling me what you think is the truth. I doubt it really is though." "Yeah, whatever. Later." Thorn walked over to the door and pressed his ear against it in the hopes that he'd be able to hear with Rikka wanted to tell Burner. ~ Amelie was shocked that anyone wouldn't want to greet her. She turned red in the face and spun around and said under her breath, "Good for nothing bitches. All of those snooty new girls. All of them."

Rikka blushed again. "S-sorry..." She cleared her throat. "I just wanted to know why you guys keep doing that... You're just making Jasna angrier at you..." She didn't know how to go on. ~ After he managed to calm down, Blaze smirked as he watched Thorn explain about Burner's love life. He started laughing again as he watched Thorn listen to the door. ~ Frost frowned at Amelie. He'd managed to hear her angry mutters. "You do realize Kaen acts like that to everyone? Not just you, Amelie. Hell, if anything you got off lucky. When she first met me she threatened to burn me." Kaen had heard Amelie too (She didn't walk very far) and stopped in her tracks, but didn't bother with threatening the girl. Pathetic. If you want respect from me, you leave me alone... Also, I may be a b***h, but not all new girls are. Get off your high horse, Miss Amelie. Or I may just have you rethink how I greet greet annoying people. Frost looked back at Kaen to see that she'd stopped walking. "Oh, s**t..." He took a few steps away from Amelie, just as Kaen started walking again. Frost breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "That was too close..."

Burner sighed. "I don't know what to do... Just... yeah..." ~ Thorn heard Burner through the door and snorted loudly. Burner heard him and grabbed the handle and yanked the door open. Thorn had been leaning so hard that he fell over onto the floor. Burner shook his head, disgusted and walked off to talk to Jasna. ~ Jasna looked up and saw Burner coming towards her. She was still angry so she summoned an iceball threateningly. He ignore it and said, "Look, it's me who's sorry this time. You're right to say that I shouldn't have made a claim on you as though you were some cheap toy that I could call my own." Jasna looked at him warrily but vaporized the iceball. "Just say you'll never say that again. About any girl, not just me." Burner nodded. "I promise." "Deal?" "Deal." And they shook on it. Then Jasna walked into the classroom to look for Rikka. "What's taking so long? Didn't you want to talk to Kaen?" ~ Amelie shrugged and walked away. "I can protect myself if she does try to attack me, Frost. You've seem me duel before. Do you recall anyone ever beating me?"

Rikka smiled nervously at Jasna. "Oh, I left my bag in one of my other classes. I guess I'll have to go without it. It's not like I need it anyway." She smiled and straightened up. "Let's go talk to Kaen!" Rikka took Jasna's wrist and started down the hall. ~ Kaen stopped again. "Ah. So you think you could easily beat me in a duel?" Frost recognized her tone from earlier, during Blaze's duel. "H-hey, Kaen! Why don't I walk you to your next class?" He smiled nervously as he leaned closer to Kaen to whisper in her ear. "Please don't kill her, she doesn't mean any harm..." Kaen frowned as she whispered back. "She's asking for trouble. No one mouths off at me." Rikka pulled Jasna along, trying to find Kaen. She smiled as she saw Kaen talking with Frost. "Hey Kaen!" She closed her eyes slightly as she smiled brightly. "Jasna and I wanted to talk with you."

Jasna saw Kaen and Frost and waved with her free arm. She whispered to Rikka, "Not so tight! My arm hurts now..." Amelie watched the exchange with slitted eyes. I'm lethal, Kaen. I've dueled more people in this school than you'd ever think possible. I've only ever lost to Cron and Jay when they ganged up on me. So don't underestimate my abilities. I'm a much better all-around than I look. Jasna noticed Amelie and waved hi. She yanked Rikka's hand off her wrist and walked over. "Nice to meet you. I'm Jasna." "You're Jasna?" "Yeah. Why?" "Oh, Litha mentioned you earlier. I heard you're going out with Burner...?" Jasna turned pink and said hotly, "No, I'm not. We're just friends. I hope it can stay that way though..." Amelie didn't really understand this girl and shook her head in disgust and walked away.

Rikka lossened her hold on Jasna's wrist before Jasna moved her hands. ~ Kaen noticed Amelie's eyes as she watched them. When she saw her shake her head in disgust at Jasna, she felt something inside her snap. She couldn't stop the huge fireball she blasted at Amelie, not that she wanted to. "b***h." Rikka jumped backward, hiding behind Frost, who had stepped in front of her. Frost sighed and covered his face with his hand. "Somehow, I knew this was going to happen...." He pulled Rikka away from the fight and turned toward Jasna. "Coming out of the firing range? Or are you going to go help Kaen?" Kaen could barely hear Frost, her anger was buzzing in her head like a swarm of angry bees. "Don't act so high and mighty, just because you know more people here, doesn't mean you know me, or Jasna." She could see her vision going red, like last time. She shook her head roughly, trying to make the red disappear.

Amelie felt the fireball coming, but she ducked. She was a moment too late, for her hair was singed. "You want to call me a b***h? Fine. It's not that I don't know you, Kaen. It's that you're just too damn unwilling to show who you truly are. You have this wall around yourself that you'll never let down. I was nice at first, friendly even. And you just walked away. So what am I supposed to think? That's it's okay for you to snub me?! And her!" Amelie said, pointing at Jasna, "She's nothing but a weird... I don't know. I just don't understand you people. People can be read like books, you know. Kaen, you have glued your covers shut so that nobody can read you. Jasna, she just... It's like her book is so grammatically wrong that it's impossible to read. You want to fight me, then fine. I never turn down a challenge." ~ Jasna heard Amelie's speech to Kaen. She whispered to Amelie once Amelie was finished, "So you think that your lot in life is to judge people? How dare you? Did you... know Litha before? Before she was with Burner?" Amelie laughed and said, "Of course I did. We've never been good friends, but we've known each other for about 3 years." Jasna remembered her conversation with Thorn and turned around and said, "I'm sorry. I don't want to talk to you right now."
