Vence shrugged, finishing of fthe last of his rather large breakfast.

"Walk, or hitch a ride, or whatever. If we can get there, we get there. And as for how I know him... can the human mind posess another's memories?" Vence asked, looking to Mayloo. That's certainly what it felt like. Memories; and none of them were his. Just how does that work out?

"That vanishing act of his only works when he is in contact with shadows. It can't be his own shadow, but if his shadow connects with another, it counts. I remember that... again, I don't know how." With that said, he finished off his glass of water.

Maylo just shrugged as she began to think herself. "Hm...It may be possible, but I wouldn't be sure how...unless someone is sending them to you? Or you could be more sensitive to others"

She tried thinking of what Vence was speaking of. Well of course he was easy to disappear then due to the fact it was night and they were under shelter. Maybe that'd be the only time he'd strike then, at night. "Who really knows anything, all we need to do is get to the library and draw conclusions from there"

"Maybe, I just don't know." Vence bowed his head in thought. Mayloo had an interesting concept. Sensitivity of thoughts was indeed very uncommon, and was usually regarded as a demon art, by those superstitious, but it was an occurance. a sixth sense, so to speak. But was it something he had?

Or the other option, like she said, maybe someone was giving him these thoughts, memories, whatever else you would call them. But who would transmit such things to him, and why?

The gods are toying with me, he thought to himself. Why fate chose me for this, I have no idea...

"The library huh... maybe I can get answers there on this subject, too," Vence said, a small smile coming to his face, finding the thought amusing and, somehow, reassuring. At least he'd know some idea about his mental condition, if he had one. Telepathy was something he wasn't too familiar with.

"Are you done? We can head out anytime you want," Vence said, looking back to Mayloo.

[Yeah, I felt like writing a lot. It must be a side affect from (the attempting of) reading The Great Gatsby. I go into the first three pages and I go "...wtf? o.0 What the hell does this say? xd ]
PostPosted: Sun Aug 09, 2009 3:51 pm

While he thought of his condition, she simply thought of him. Putting her head down onto the counter with the arms crossed beneath her chin, she wondered. What exactly was she feeling when around him? It certainly wasn't familiar at all.

Did he feel the same way about her? Who knows...it's all so very curious. She wanted to just come out and say something, but that could always lead to misconception. The last thing she wanted was for things to be awkward.

Vence spoke and at first the words had simply flowed through her naive mind, but it was then she caught on. She shot back up blushing. "Y-yeah" And then without a moment's hesitation, she stood up and began going back upstairs.

((That's going to be a book I have to read in school eventually, doesn't sound very fun))

[Hee hee, this is going to go on forever, isn't it? xp ]

Surprised at Mayloo's sudden reaction, he simply watched as she headed upstairs, looking slightly rushed, but not attracting attention. Just before she had left, he had barely glipsed her face, which he had noticed was reddened.

Blushing? Was it something I said?

But then again, he couldn't talk either. As she had headed up the stairs, he could feel some heat emanating from his own face. Even so, he couldn't help but smile. it wasn't like she could see him, unless she could see through walls and hadn't told him she could use illusionary abilities. Maybe her reason was the same as his.

Really, maybe I should say something... but what would I say?

Sighing, but still with a satisfied look on his face, he pulled out his own pouch, and threw down some gold coins. More than enough for the meal and a decent tip. He would answer that question to himself later. The only thing he had to do was throw on his armor, dawn his travelling cloak, and shoulder a bag, and he was all set. A few seconds to spare with his own thoughts wouldn't hurt, he supposed, as he ascended the stairs a few minutes after her.

[No, it's not fun...but "The Tragedy of Julius Ceasar" is. mrgreen Shakespeare was a genius.]

((Hahaha, what?))

She had already slipped into the room by the time he would've reached the door. While in the room, she layed face first upon the bed with her head stuffed in the pillow. Mayloo was simply letting herself calm down before getting up to gather her things together.

Folding up her pajamas which had been tossed atop her bag, she packed them away while grabbing the small sword. Grabbing the bag, she slung it on to her bag before attaching the sword to her hip.

But of course she would allow Vence to ready himself to, she in patience, she sat once more on the bed's edge kicking her feet. Her head needed to be else where

((Really? Hm, hopefully its better then Romeo and Juliet. I like the way he spoke and wrote things the king did not approve of.
Oh, and feel free to enter in whenever, I don't wanna seem like she just totally rushed everything and now sat on the bed while you get up the stairs ))

By the time Vence had arrived to the room, Mayloo was pretty much done. She now sat on the edge of the bed, looking bored, with maybe a hint of edginess. Kicking feet could be a sign of both, either way.

Well, don't we like to travel light?

Smiling at the thought, Vence spent no time dawdling. If she wanted to go, they would. Grabbing his armor from beside his bag, he took his time to properly get it on. Things like this couldn't be rushed, after all. If trouble found them, and his armor ended up being screwed up in some way, it could make a difference between life and death.

Not that he was concerned about it. He had his own policy on armor. In his opinion, armor was something worn by people who weren't capable enough to defend themselves with a decent weapon. There were exceptions, of course. An axe, for example; very effective, but slow and heavy, not to mentioon bulky. Armor was a definite requirement for such.

So why did he wear armor? Well, one, it was a gift, and two, if he ever for some reason became unable to handle a weapon, he had his life to keep still. And now, that was something that would be a nice plus.

Finished by now with the shin gaurds, the gauntlets, and now grabbing the breastplate. It occured to him that Mayloo didn't exactly have much protection. Sure, she had nature and water, effective elements for sure, but caution was not something to be toying with. And he wouldn't always be around to defend her, would he? Maybe... well, when they reached bankridge, maybe he could arrange something.

Finally finished, the final touch was added when he strapped his sword to his back. Throwing on the travelling cloak, and picking up his bag, he looked over to Mayloo

"So...are we ready?"

[I didn't find Romea and Juliet that bad. Why does no one like that play? neutral ]
PostPosted: Sun Aug 09, 2009 8:57 pm

She watched as Vence entered wordlessly as he began getting ready. Mayloo would wait, comfortably as she fell sideways upon the bed, to avoid laying on her sword or bag.

In admiration, she watched as her put his armour on. He looked like he knew what he was doing. Being strong and prepared, adding years of fighting knowledge to his appearance...Atleast in her sight.

"Hm..." He had looked at her for a moment in which she looked away blushing alittle. What had he been thinking? Hopefully it was good. As soon as she felt his gaze lift from her, she sighed and then watched as he put the sword onto his back.

Once more, his eyes fell upon her, but this time he had spoken along with it. Nodding, she sprung off the bed and walked to the door. One hand fell upon the handle while the other outstretched itself to him. Who knew why, even she didn't notice this action.

((No, it's good and all, just long xD Other then that, it isn't badly written.
Hehehe, headsup on Solstice jumping back in))

[I like long, just not the overdone kind of long. sweatdrop makes it seem amateur. And oh noes! whee But wait, isn't it sphinx? (I can change it, if you want. catchy name. 3nodding )]

He smiled lightly as she headed over to the door. Yep, she was ready. He took the few steps neccesary to reach the door as well, and with his free hand (the other held his nag in place) he took hold of her outstretched one. Odd, it didn't seem like her, but on the other hand, it didn't bother him in the least bit. It appeared she didn't mind either, else she wouldn't have had her hand out in the first place.

"After you...ladies first," Vence said, smiling.

[I should probably bring Zevach back somehow, too. ninja ]

(( XD oh yeah, wow...I had so many roleplays before with Solstice as a name...I still have it on the brain even though I've caught on to using Maylo(o) now. lol. Sphinx is fine though.))

Mayloo was smiling the whole time of course cause he seemed to not mind openly when accepting her offered hand. "Why thank you" Opening the door, she stepped out while dragging him along.

It was weird how comfortable his hand felt within her own....

Turning around after making sure he was out, she closed the door and then began for the stairs with a slight skip in her step while descending down.

((Mine will be an ambush! hehehe))

[Uh oh, it's the next post, isn't it? xd ]

Following alongside Mayloo, As soon as the bartender was in sight, Vence pulled out the key to his room. Well, not his room, which was why he was giving up the key.

"Thought you might like this back, sir," Vence said, tossing the key over. The man caught with one hand, smiling.

"Thank you young man, now you you two have a safe trip. Where you headed?"

"Bankridge. I got some friends there."

"Well, have fun," The man said, before going back to his work. Vence glanced at Mayloo, and smiled.

"Now we're ready."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 11, 2009 1:18 pm

(( mrgreen
That's the ambush. hehe))

Mayloo made sure to stop along side him for the brief passing of words and only moved again when he said they were ready. Pulling Vence once more, she went outside into a new day.

"It's going to be a good day" She said with a big smile while beginning to swing there hands until she released his for a second to stretch her hands upwards into the air before grabbing a hold of Vence in a hug. "I dub you to be the navagator" Backing away alittle, she couldn't help but laugh, atleast until it faded away for an...annoying reason.

Sphinx had been standing outside the Inn, casually leaning on the door when they came out. Of course she wanted to see Vence again, but she allowed them to have another moment of talking but interferring.

With her hands cupped within each other behind her back, she swung her legs back in forth while walking when approuching as 'carefree' as she could appear before approuching Vence from behind and placing her hands onto his shoulders.

"Good morning, I see we're all off to traveling now?" Her smile was fake but that wasn't known for it was very appearant as she made her way to standing in front of them.

Once more she took Vence's hand while taking a step closer. She did not enjoy such intrusion, and when exactly did they give her permission to come? None the less, Mayloo was going to try some more civil behaivor "Morning..."

Vence couldn't help but chuckle as she "dubbed him" to be the "navigator." What made it funny was, he had other jobs as well.

"So, I'm an escort, a bank account, and a compass. Next thing you know, I'll be the transportation," he said, still laughing lightly...that is, untill he felt two hands on his shoulders. When he heard the voice that spoke, his face changed from a look of uncertainty to a frown of annoyance.

"Or a magnet to trouble," Vence muttered. And he thought they were now rid of this person. Who did she think she was anyway?

"Morning, elf. Sorry, I already forgot your name," Vence said more clearly and with his free hand (the other taken by mayloo, thank goodness...) brushed off Sphinx's hands from his shoulders, and turned around, standing beside Mayloo.

"We're travelling, yes. Is there something you wanted to say before we left, perhaps?" Vence asked, acting curious. In reality, he was being quite sarcastic and almost mocking. His sarcasm did tend from time to time sound real.

~~~
"Tch, that kid is annoying," Zevach muttered, watching the three of them converse. He could hear the sarcasm in his voice, and it bugged him. It sounded too much like him.
"Just where is he off too anyway," he muttered to himself, leaning back in his chair that sat in front of the mirror. The image in the mirror faded away, leaving just his reflection.
The boy and girl travelling together was only part of his concern. Yes, they would need to be dealt wth, apparently. He had hoped his suspicions were wrong, but now he was cerrtain. That boy wasn't ordinary. And the girl wasn't either. Now that he thought about it, she bore some resemblance to another of old as well.
The wheel has turned, and now it is time again.
But the other girl, the elf...she was different as well...but in a way that was an advantage to him. He could see through people's invisible walls they placed around themselves; their barriers, preventing harm to themselves by putting up a false personality. He could see her for what she was. And she could be proven useful.
A small grin came to his face. Perhaps...a meeting was to be arranged.
[Zevach is back. twisted Let's make it a little more interesting, shall we?]
PostPosted: Wed Aug 12, 2009 2:24 pm
Maylo had wanted to laugh, but not with the elf there.
The elf simply brushed her hair aside, at first giving a glare to Vence before it faded into a smile. "It's Sphinx silly" Even though her hand had been brushed off, she still gave him a light tap upon his shoulder as if a teasing push. She was trying TO hard to flirt.
"If there's anything to say before travel..." Cupping a hand upon her chin as in deep thought, she sighed. There was no way she was going to deal with such hints of rejection. Finally her hand fell back to her side. "Yes there is...Where are we traveling to first?" Her back suddenly gained a chill from something, as if she were being watched. Something was up.
When they had both turned around to face him, she released his hand and instead brought that hand across his back so that she could lean her head upon his shoulder, then again she was short so it was more likely his arm. Either way, she did so because it was a huge irritation to deal with this girl, but it was a good thing Vence was there to calm her down whether he ment to or not.
"Vence and I were just going to explore abit, ya know, look for a map prehaps? That way we'll have a definate location." She smiled as sweetly as she could and faked looking around. "Oh look, an Inn, there should be a map in there right?"
Sphinx didn't like this sarcasm nor cheesy acting. "We should all go in together and check"
((Gwahaha, make sphinx even more dangerous, I see how it is. lol))
((Could there be a backdoor to the Inn? ninja
lol, Zevach could watch them like the evil creeper he is. Heheheh ))
[Of course there's a back door, and a se...nah, I'll keep that part for later. xd And that's just how Zevach is... stalker. whee ]
Still somewhat annoyed at Sphinx - even more so as he tapped him on the shoulder - he had been ready to make a nsappy reply when she asked about their destination. However, he was stayed when Mayloo sort of half-hugged him as she stood beside him. He had no idea why, but it had made him a little more concious of what he was about to do.
Not only that, but apparently it allowed him to pay attention to his surroundings. An uneasy air stirred, and his side twinged, but he ignored it. Something wasn't right.
During those brief moments, Mayloo and Sphinx had exchanged a few words. Thoguh it hadn't appeared he was listening, he had heard every word they had said. And the situation was getting more annoying. But already, he had an idea of what to do.
"Should be, yeah," Vence said, dropping the sarcasm. Rather than make the situation amusing of what Sphinx's reaction would be, playing it real and avoiding her tagging along was top priority on his list. "Let's find out."
~~~

Zevach had made the "proper preparations" for his little trip. That being, a change of attire. Really, he would be rather noticible if he arrived the way he had been before; wrapped in a dark cloak, dressed in dark clothing, with armor that would no doubt recieve numerous glances of uneasiness.

No, instead, he simply wore a moderately rich person's clothes. Black in color, of course. Black boots, with a pair os slightly baggy cargo pants, untucked, with a shirt-sleeve hoodie, leaving his arms bare to show the scars he bore. Not as elusive as he would like, but he would pass off as some young man from off the street, at least. He looked it, too, and was glad of it.

With one last change, attaching a dagger to his person, he stepped into the dark corner of the hall, and vanished...
