You've never played expansions? I mean even Sims 1 had expansions. How did you always just stick with the starter game? Seems so...limited.

Anyhow expansions just add new data/world/characters/environments/accessories/etc to the game play. Like in both Sims 1 and 2 there is an expansion that adds pets (in Sims 1 pets are a little side item to "old town," the main focus of that expansion, whereas in Sims 2 pets was the main focus and there were limited other things that came in addition to that). And expansions that add a dating scene/dating interactions. In Sims 2 there is an expansion that adds colleges and thus a "young adult" life phase. Pretty much I think the effect that an expansion would have on a computer is that it takes up more of the hard drive, and so eventually it might slow things down. But yea, I'll add one at a time, see how they play, and then decide.

Ah ok, yea I don't know that either. Perhaps? Guess I'll find out, as you might have been able to discern by now I don't really have a very comprehensive understanding of how RAM works.

An Olsen twin back on screen (and of course the whacked out witch is Mary Kate, hahaha, s'ok, in spite of all the drugs and anorexia I still always liked her better)? What?!? Haha, so it's Beauty and the Beast not animated (/kinda meets Cruel Intentions, actually the main guy in this reminds me of Ryan Phillippe - the main guy in Cruel Intentions). And probably minus the awesome soundtrack. Unsure how I feel about this, but it does look kind of interesting.

Actually this cast is trippy! Vanessa Hudgens, Mary Kate Olsen, Neil Patrick Harris, Lisa Gay Hamilton. I have 4 very different, very strong associations of all four of these people. It's so weird to see them all together!

Yea, it looks interesting, and it seems to be done well enough. And Mary Kate IS kind of a witch, hehe (I don't mean that as a bad thing). Yea I can't say I'm a big Hudgens fan, just everything I know about her is kinda...eh. And then the only thing I really know her from is High School Musical, which I've never seen, but that hasn't stopped me form judging everyone in it, haha.

I do love Neil though, and actually Lisa Hamilton as well. I don't really expect you'd know her, she's been on SVU recently, but what I know her from is this old law show, The Practice. It was actually a really good show though it ended kind of blech, and then went into a horrible spin off that I gave up on. The only thing, her character on the practice, to this day I'm still not sure if she died or not. She was badly injured, the show stopped playing for awhile, and when it started again it was obviously several episodes later and she was gone. So I still wonder if she died or if she left? A mystery I've been too lazy to try and solve, maybe one day. She's also in Men of a Certain Age, I don't watch that but my mom does.

That still doesn't make sense to me...dumb down the explanation the way you would for a completely technologically retarded person. Then take it down one more step. That's where I'm at. I don't get the difference between Hard Drive and RAM. You called the hard drive storage, but the analogy stops for me there, because you don't power (run) storage. Is RAM like the little moving men who take stuff out of storage/put it in...but in that case how is RAM a function of space? Ugh I'm hurting my head, ok nevermind I'll look it up when I get less lazy. Which will be never, so I'll just live with not knowing. stressed

Never saw Shallow Hal, movies where unattractive men (who are even more than unattractive, they are assholes - I mean sweet ugly guy or hot douche, fine, I get it, I can live with it. But the ugly a** is such a stab at the ideal "women have such low self-esteem and will totally settle," it bothers me too much. I watch too many friends settle for crap because they can't stand to be alone, it's the veracity of that actuality that bothers me so. Ya never see the reverse.) get attractive women usually just offend me on principal and I avoid them.

Yea, although I think the last thing she did was in 2008, not too long ago. I don't think Ashley has done anything acting wise since 2004? Her resume is much shorter than Mary Kate's. She's done hardly anything alone. Although apparently she (Ashley) is dating the guy who played Riley in the National Treasure movies (which amuses me b/c in one of the last things the twins did together, Mary Kate played a character named Riley razz ). I like him, he's cute. Although I'm probably more jealous because of my love for Riley the character, I really know nothing about him as a person. Oh those characters like real people.

Alright, that makes more sense, I think. So, let's say I wanted to play Left4Dead but had limited available RAM (for this hypothetical hard drive is no issue). If I just made sure absolutely nothing else was using RAM while I played l4D (i.e. I wouldn't pull up any other organs/programs (heart/Sims) while playing), it would in theory work fine?

I know it's 40 minutes, but that's the thing, I just am either too tired, or don't have 40 minutes. A lot of the time when I'm on here I'm either watching TV with someone else, watching TV within the confines of TV and don't really want to watch 3-4 minutes every commercial, or at work (and thus can't really do anything that requires sound). If it was 4 to even 12 minutes I would have watched it by now, but finding a solid 40 to sit and watch is just quite difficult for me atm. And I could watch it in parts but I don't like doing that, like with A Very Potter Musical. I keep stopping, then I forget what happens and have to start over, and it's just killing my desire to ever finish it. So I will...it's on my fail list ok! Hahaha, it's just going to take awhile. Video moves quite slowly off the fail list.

Yea, I get that is what it's about, but the setting is that he's only ever chased hot women. And yes learning about "inner" beauty does not really detract from the offense that was the beginning. If anything it's just annoying because life just does not work like that, or hardly ever works like that. I mean the stereotypes are unsettling, but they are unsettling because they are true.

I also don't usually like romantic comedies to begin with, so even without offending me, it's already a genre I have no patience for. There are very few romantic comedies I can stand, and I'm not sure if any make my "favorites list," at least not amongst the modern. Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing I do rather love, although that probably falls a bit more into the genre I do love, romantic drama. Ever After, Latter Days - these are my romance movies. They have their bits of humor, but they aren't funny comic movies. They are dramatic and even quite sad. I don't like my romance funny. Unless it's crack, but I can't say I'd want to watch a crack movie. Especially a live action movie confined to the realm of reality. Off the wall crack movies would be a different situation.
