"I doubt they would go that far." Coughing, Snow made his way to the door, Leila following. "Good night, Vincent. Don't stress to much, mate." Waving, Snow made his departure quiet, not wanting to disrupt any of the nearby residents. Tomorrow would certainly be interesting, Snow wondered if September would show. She was at every UN Meeting, before her disappearance and this was the first important one in years. Snow doubted it though, images of that night still swirling around his mind. With his father dead and his mother terminally ill, there was no one Snow could turn to that was there that night. He wanted to try and get his mother to talk again, but every time, it was a losing battle. She was American but was born in England, hence the accent; however, moving around so much had made it hard to hear it unless you knew what to look for. Coughing again, Snow made his was to his complex, ready to sleep.
The next day was crazy, a busy NYC day with buzz of the UN meeting in every country. There was TV Screens everywhere, tuned to one channel which was dedicated to filming the conference. Snow & Leila pulled up in the newest of luxury cars, a Benx; it was Snow's newest, safest car as well as the fastest and most expensive cars in the city. A matte black four door with tinted, black windows and a tall, bald dude as their driver; it was quite intimidating. Simon, their driver, hopped out of the car and stood on Snow's side, waiting for the signal. "Let's hope today ends peacefully." Knocking on his window gently, Snow stepped out of his car, followed by Leila who looked stunning like always. They were met by cheers, reporter after reporter asking numerous questions about the program's they ran. "I'm sure, as Vincent said, you'll find out from the UN meeting. Have a lovely day."
Snow & Leila entered the building quietly, the sound of the crazy reporters drowned out once the doors closed. They reached the entrance to the conference within minutes, nodding at the guards who gave them a once over and waving them in. Snow watched as Vincent made his way to the middle of the room, and then glanced around to see if September was there. Still no sign of her, Snow did notice that there were two chairs next to one of the delegates in the middle. One had a gin & tonic waiting, and Snow knew the seats were saved for Snow & Leila; why they were in the center, Snow did not know. Coughing once more, Snow made his way and sat down, crossing his legs and taking a drink. "A circus indeed," Snow commented, smirking at Vincent. "Shall we begin?"
(( OOC: Sorry, I was out of town guys. I'm going to Tahoe for four days but I can take my laptop. Also, I might have September enter in this scene if that's alright. ))

Leila stared at Vincent. "Then stop this one before it explodes, Vincent." she answered stiffly. Both men seemed to think there was nothing to worry about, but there was always something when the UN was involved. She was silent the whole way back to Snow's place and was the picture of poise and calm when they arrived to the UN.
The red-head let Snow lead her for the past few hours. She was still a little jet lagged, but she couldn't let that stop her as she sat in her chair next to Snow. She shook her head at the laziness or lack of decorum Vincent seemed to be showing but know it was just that a show. It was a good strategy to throw off the UN but it could go badly if they take it as an insult. Which, considering the circumstances, they will. "Maybe if he stopped acting like this is some kind of game; drastic measures won't need to be taken." she muttered looking down at Vincent and his entourage. Leila crossed her arms and waited for the meeting to begin.
(OOC: Ah, excellent! Now that we've had more posts, I'm ready to continue us forward!)
Vincent took a brief glance around the room, to see who all was there. He spotted Leila and Snow over in one area, Akuro Spade (owner of Yakigima Heavy Industries), which he found odd given the man's business position, and an assortment of other delegate and influential people. In fact, there was a lot more influential people than he expected. 'A kangaroo court dressed as a gala', he thought sardonically to himself. Things began to quiet down as one of the men at the front of the room took the stand, so Vincent turned his attention to him.
"Mr. Roberts: you, British Overseas National Development Industries, and Britannia Private Military Corporation are all here before the United Nations for a public inquiry into the affairs of your businesses. You have been charged with breaking international laws, participating in international conflicts, the perpetuation of violence, as well as war crimes, which follow these. Among these issues, we are also raising the subject of your weaponry, which till now you have held a monopoly on, and which has raised concerns among the international community."
The older fellow, an American UN delegate, cleared his throat before continuing. "We have accounts that you've participated in conflicts throughout Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and even a few times in South America. The countries you invaded were all sovereign states which you had no legal authority to intervene in, and furthermore, some of them were signers of the United Nations Mercenary Convention, making it illegal for you to fight in these countries. Along with this, it was stated that you executed many leaders and soldiers in these groups, including Boko Haram, ICS, and the governments of a number of these nations, which is, by our standards, a war crime. Furthermore, it is your weapons that have allowed this to go so far. So it is with that in mind that we propose your weapons be made accessible for the use of other UN members to ensure international stability, and to ensure you and your companies are held accountable. What do you have to say?" The crowds clapped for the speaker as he finished, most of the delegates seeming rather pleased with how things were going so far.
Having been silent most of the time, Vincent held back a it of a smirk when it finally came down to his turn to speak. He looked around the room to see what reactions were like, then he stood to speak. "With all due respect Mr. Speaker, why exactly am I here to be questioned about war crimes, and the United States of America, Russian Federation, and People's Republic of China are not?" The room sort of hushed for a moment, but it seemed like a bit of a gasp was let out, as if they couldn't believe how brash he was to turn things onto another country. "Let's be frank Mr. Speaker, the UN isn't putting me on trial right now; the US, Russia, and China are blackmailing me with it." There was a bit of a commotion from the crowd now, lots of nay-saying and attempts to rebuff what Vincent was saying.
"What, you folks don't believe me? Then tell me why Blackwater didn't get a UN trial? Or any of the governments I listed for that matter? It's because we're not just some merc company. It's because we're not just some British, or American company either. We are the sole creators of a very valuable weapon right now, and we have no national ties whatsoever. That's why I'm here; because America, Russia, and China can not only get away with putting me on trial here, they can profit from it." Vincent smirked slightly. "I'd be almost flattered, but this isn't about my threat level, it's about the weapons. Never once before has this been done by the UN, because never once before was there a group that wasn't on the UN Security Council that had a weapon everyone wanted. Face it, I'm both the scapegoat and the 'fuel source' in a renewed arms race."
The room went rather silent for a moment, and as did Vincent while he let people soak in what he was saying.
(OOC: He's not done talking yet, but I'd like you all to soak things up first and make some kind of a response to what's been said. wink )

(That is Julia's design philosophy. Mechs designed to fight enemy knockoffs and mech killers.)
(Sorry I didn't reply to you sooner, but that sounds reasonable! I would say though, for reference, that Julia is probably best at focusing on the robotics and such, the more technical details of the suits. Armoring may be better left in the hand of Vincent's company. wink On the note of all this too, any other prototypes they have may not be including parts they've used in the prototype Julia has. On the same token though, they may implement parts Julia suggests in other suits as well, depending on how they view the performance of the parts.)

Ryosuke found himself staring into the screen to watch the UN's debate or whatever they were labeling it as. It was a global effecting event supposedly. As he listened to the delegates speech for sharing weapons he couldn't help but laugh. The speech was rather missing a certain air of authority and came about as if he was fishing for it. If it was truly something that they had the rights to put him on trial they wouldn't have called him there and basically asked him for the designs to the new weapons. They would have pointed guns at him and forced it. Simply because that is the way of the world and politics. That is unless this whole trial was a way of getting the world to look left while they move on the right.
However as the accused formed his rebuttal Ryosuke's mind got drawn into Blackwater, A group he had bought out and now owned. Primarily due tot he facts that their original ownership was attacked for illegal activities by none other than Ryosuke himself. This left him wondering if that meant eyes would be focusing toward Akaken now as well. As far as Ryosuke was concerned that was a small bit of an attack on his group. Indirectly but then again the man on the screen was the leader of the competition. Unfortunately however Ryosuke was not capable of making any form of retaliation at this time. So far though all of this hadn't actually amounted to anything. That means he was still waiting to see where actual business opportunities arose.
Leila rolled her eyes at the speaker's words. Really this was just a show and it was obvious. Her eyes met Michael's the diplomat of China and she smiled making him sweat. She saw both sides of the coin and knew Vincent had a point. And from the looks of the UN members that were present most thought that this would be the end of Vincent.
"What a circus." she muttered getting slightly bored. Leila knew that he wasn't done. From what she observed, the man loved the dramatic and loved seeing the reactions of those he embarrassed.

Snow took a drink of his gin & tonic, watching as one of the delegates stood up and nodded at him. He spoke about weapons, war threats, and international affairs, as if everyone in this room was innocent of breaking such laws. Snow himself was involved in said international affairs, and was about to speak up but could sense that his friend was not done. Vincent had countered with a very good point, seeing as the UN never DID call Blackwater out as they had with Vincent. Coughing, Snow glanced at Leila who looked bored. "You'd think they'd be more serious with this rather than just putting on this circus." He whispered to her, eyeing the delegates around him. His lilac eyes widened when he saw a flash of white hair, his heart skipping a beat. Could it be? No, no... Snow shook his head, trying to focus on Vincent.
(OOC: I'm thinking of introducing her right after Vincent finishes & the delegate tries to regain his composure. Snow could say something and then September follows up. I can also send you her profile if you want it because I suspect I'll be using both of them now.)
(OOC: So Yue, I'm not sure when Vincent will start "wrapping up his speech", so I suggest introducing September soon, perhaps have her approach Snow, since the conference shouldn't be interrupted right now.)
The delegate was becoming flustered, a little unsure about what to say now. He attempted to pull himself together and figure out how he was going to retort. "Yes, well Mr. Roberts... That aside, the UN Security Council and General Assembly do not believe it is safe to leave weapons like yours in your own hands, what with the lack of accountability you have."
Vincent burst out laughing at the end of what the delegate said. "I'm- I'm sorry, but are you serious? Accountability? Isn't that the one thing almost all of you in here lack? I mean, most of you have probably voted yourselves raises! Not only do we have one of the lowest civilian casualty rates in history, we make a noticeable effort to improve the lives of the people in the countries we are active in. For every casualty, we build a hospital. For every family torn apart, we build decent housing. For every life made harder, we build a school."
Now Vincent's face went from amused to angry. "What have you all done? Donated to charities for tax breaks? Charities that, might I add, have probably only put 10% of their funding towards actual projects? We fund the projects we do almost completely out of our own pockets, and yes, we do often set up our businesses here for lower costs, we also employ a lot of people from the area to help them live decent lives! As far as I'm concerned, my accountability isn't even an issue. The only people making it an issue are paranoid or want my weapons. Oh, and before you ask; no, you're not laying a single finger on them."
The delegate seemed more flustered again, now even seeming annoyed and angry. "All of this is irrelevant Mr. Roberts! You invaded sovereign nations with no authority!"
"I DID IT ON MY AUTHORITY!" Vincent shouted slamming his fists down on the podium. You could have heard a pin drop in the room for the next few moments, as everyone tried to take in exactly what Vincent had just said. Caesar was at the Rubicon, and about to cross it.
(OOC: I'd like to go a little further, but I'm going to let you all post before things REALLY get interesting. wink )

Leila nodded and sighed. "This isn't a meeting. Vincent is right." she answered back and watched on. She heard the back and forth until Vincent lost it. Before the delegate could go on Leila stood up. "Enough! Tell me. Are we running a meeting or a circus? I have better things to do in my own country than listen to you find faults in someone who is doing your job." she stated looking around at everyone. "Surely, if there is nothing to discuss then we are all free to go about our business and that includes Mr. Roberts. So, what is so important that you drag important people from all around the world to come to your place? I have yet to see any reason to find him guilty except for following and doing his things on his whim." she stated confidently.
||Akuro Spade|| ||Location; New York UN building|| ||Company; Guards|| ||OOC; Escalation! Won't be provided soon but they're'a comin!||
Akuro chuckled, but stopped himself before it resounded while the delegates and Vincent argued back and forth. It truly was a kangaroo court, with the little kids crying in front of the adults for the one toy Vincent has. What was even more entertaining to Akuro was that Vincent was losing his patience at the council. Even if he owned a paramilitary company, he still attempted to improve the conditions of the locations he had questionably invaded. His was the one reason the Union did not consider including Vincent.
Akuro's phone vibrated and he let out a 'tsk' as he pulled it out. It was an email from Yusuke from Yakigima, about a subject very similar to the one in question. Akuro smiled as he made a quick reply back and replaced the phone in his coat pocket. Just like how the UN wanted Vincent's suits, every other army supply wanted that cash cow, and Akuro was no different. Now there was some success thanks to Celestial Cybernetics, and with luck this product might even surpass Vincent's. There was still test and calibration to go through, but he had a meeting later and Akuro had a feeling he'd be more than happy to volunteer.

Julia giggles slightly when she heard Vincent slam his fists down over the television. "Oh Vincent you really are a passionate speaker." Julia said as she put her complete blueprint on the wall in front of her. "I am going to have to sell some of my own inventions to cover the cost of building this beast." Julia smirked. "Vincent is going to drop his jaw to the floor when he sees this."

"Now, now Leila... Calm down." Snow nodded at his friend and stood up himself, his lilac eyes now returning to a deep red. "You know, I've always respected the UN but this is just outrageous. You act as if no one in this room has ever interfered in international affairs, as if each one of us is sinless. War crimes... Ha, what even counts as a war crime? Saving children from being killed, enforcing gun control, saving animals from going extinct? Because if that's the case, then I should be on trial here and so should most of the people in this room." Another moment of silence ensued as everyone looked at each other, their eyes finally fixating on Vincent.
"That's besides the point..." The delegate was so frustrated now, his face had gone from it's usual pale white to a deep shade of red.
"Then what is the point, Mr. Speaker?" A voice came from the back, a woman stepping forward. Her hair was a bright white and beautiful, reaching all the way down to her butt. She had the exact same facial features as Snow, though she was a bit shorter and wore a lilac top with a frilly, black skirt. She had dark purple eyes, way darker than Snow's lilac ones and was stunningly beautiful. "My brother has a point," she said, gesturing towards Snow. "There isn't one person in this room who isn't guilty on international interference, on way or another. So, tell me; why are you so intent on having Mr. Roberts arrested?"
"Ms. Kaylen... Er, we weren't aware you received our telegram." The delegate seemed surprised to see September, which surprised Snow even more seeing as she was at every meeting the UN held.
"Ah, yes. The telegram that wasn't supposed to show up?" Her dark eyes narrowed now, a smirk forming upon her beautiful face. "As far as I'm concerned, Mr. Roberts has done nothing wrong besides maybe, act like a pompous a** but you can't arrest him for that, now can you?" She nodded at Vincent and made her way towards Snow & Leila, who were both staring at her. "Surprised to see me?"

Greg watched the proceedings on television from the relative comfort and privacy of his hotel room, complete with incessant newscaster commentary. Flipping through channels, it would seem everyone had their own opinion, spin, or whatever, on Vincent Roberts. As much as he disliked Roberts for his role in diminishing the roster of potential clientele in his little wars, he had to respect the man for having the balls to balls to call the UN on their bullshit in person. He was soon choking on his chow mein in laughter as the UN flopped around like a fish out of water, clearly unprepared for the resistance they'd encountered. "Eheheheh.... Good for you Roberts, sticking up for yourself, and embracing that American spirit of doing whatever you goddamn want solely because you can." Greg gave a quick salute to the television, before returning to mumbling to himself through his food. "Heck, if it wasn't for that bleeding heart of yours, and your habit of ruining business for me, I think we'd have gotten along great."

Sorry for taking so long to post, summer job is figuratively draining my life force.
(OOC: Sorry this has taken me SOOOOO long to reply to folks! Life's been.... Well let's say considerably stressful lately. Between a new job, finishing up my math course, trying to get into Uni, and what you could call "relationship problems" of a sort, my plate has been very full. Things may go through slow periods with the roleplay for a while, but as long as everyone has continual interest, then I plan on keeping it going, no matter how long it takes to post. xd Ideally we can move ahead more quickly, but if things do go slow, I personally can live with that. It's been more fun doing this roleplay than not doing it, in my opinion. xP Anyways, sorry again, let's hope I have at least a little time to keep on top of things! xp)
The delegate was once more flustered what with the interruption by Ms. Kaylen. He took a moment to gather himself, and then turned his attention back to Vincent, who seemed unaffectedly defiant still, despite being told he was pompous. "Well, the UN is considering condemning your actions, and your weapons Mr. Roberts. That and making them accessible to more accountable governments of this world. Part of this possible decision is based upon reports of your opponents being left with disturbingly large bullet holes in their bodies, which leads us to believe you are using illegal weapons."
Vincent began to chuckle once again. "Firstly Mr. Speaker, the other nations of this world are not accountable in the slightest, hence why I've withheld my weapons from them. Do you honestly believe countries that allow the abuse of homosexual teens, child labor, and pardon Japanese war criminals for torture research are nations that hold themselves accountable? And as for those bullet holes Mr. Speaker, I assure you that the .50 caliber Beowulf round is very legal, as an American you should know that. Of course, the reason you won't find American troops marching with guns like these is because it basically takes my company's power armor to lower the kickback to the point the gun can be accurate in fully auto mode." Vincent stopped talking for a moment to sip at his water again, as he felt his throat getting a bit dry.
The speaker was only blushing now. He had been fighting a more or less losing battle this whole time. The whole truth was that the UN could still punish Vincent if they wanted too, but that would make them look more dictatorial than anything. Still, they were running out of options. "Well Mr. Roberts, as much as you make very compelling arguments, I feel that on the behalf of the UN, we are going to have to detain you, until we can have a proper trial.
The room was almost completely silent for a moment as everyone took in what was said. Eyes turned to Vincent, to see what reaction he was going to have, and like he was on a queue of some sort, a slight grin grew on his face. "I'm sorry Mr. Speaker, but no, you're not." Many of the delegates started to whisper amongst themselves. Was he really crazy enough to essentially resist arrest? From the UN? "Mr. Speaker, delegates, if I may speak? I have two battleships and an aircraft carrier sitting 200 miles off the US coast, within international waters still. If you even try to detain me, you'll have a small, semi-invincible army here in New York within about an hour, maybe half an hour. So no, you're not going to arrest me. I'm going to get up, walk down that aisle, and leave just as free as I came in, and not a thing on this Earth is going to get in the way of that."
Just as Vincent finished saying that, the doors at the back of the room came crashing open. Vincent jolted around to see what was going on, and his eyes went wide. Though nobody else in the room would understand immediately, what Vincent saw before him he recognized almost instantly. It was three men, clad in power armor, but not just any armor, these were some of Vincent's secret prototypes. Julia had the prototype to what Vincent called the 'Legionnaire Knight Mark 2 Armor', but these 3 were the 'Centurion Knight Armors', more advanced than any other his company had built before.
The three men in armor walked down the aisle, hulking and imposing as one could expect. Their armors were strangely painted though. The one in the middle (who seemed to be the leader) had his armor painted up like a Union Jack, the British flag. The one to his right seemed to be painted up like the White Ensign, or British Naval flag. The last one, on the Union Jack fellow's left, seemed to be almost all black, and had a skull painted on the helmet, looking like death himself. 'Death' walked into the rows of delegates and grabbed someone, dragging them kicking and screaming back to the aisle. It was Mr. Li, the delegate from China who Snow and Leila both knew very well. The Union Jack armored fellow now stood in front of Vincent, staring down at the still shocked man for a moment, before looking up at the Speaker.
"Mr. Speaker, you may sit down now." The armored man commanded. The delegate nearly fell over trying to sit down, and the armored man picked up Vincent's mic. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am Union Jack, and these are my brother's in arms; White Ensign, and Death. Perhaps you're wondering why we've come here today. Well it's simple; we're here to do justice. While you sit back and banter about the suffering that goes on in the world, nothing gets done, and what's worse, some of you even take part in it, like Mr. Li here." Union Jack hauled the man over and forced him to his knees, right in front of Vincent. "Mr. Roberts, good try and all at fixing the world, but frankly it needs to be fixed now." With that, Union Jack pulled a pistol from his side, and shot Mr. Li in the head.
Only a split second after Vincent heard the shot go off, he felt a wet warmth sprinkle his face. He touched his hand to himself, pulled it away, and saw blood, Mr. Li's blood. Vincent looked back up at what were once his hulking creations, not so terrified by seeing them as it seemed shocked.
Union Jack spoke into the mic once more. "Judgement comes for the wicked, and it comes by our hands." He dropped the mic to the floor, turned around, and left the building. The room erupted into chaos, screaming and yelling everywhere. The guards failed to find the armored men, they seemed to vanish like ghosts. Vincent sat in the middle of the room, a surprised look still haunting his face as his entourage quickly moved him to a back room to keep him safe from the crowds.
(OOC: One more wrench to throw into things! Don't worry folks, this won't change the playing field too too much, just add in another piece of drama to things. wink)
