As Alice focused her camera on a rather dapper-looking figure, that same figure turned its head to look right at her. A strangled gasp escaped her as she nearly dropped her camera in her fright and, heart pounding and dragging Cassie along after her, she darted out of the ballroom as fast as her legs could carry her. Nope, nope, not happening, nope, no, absolutely not, no.

Rather than go back outside where it was just as spooky, Alice took her chances and headed down the only other path available to her, and before she knew it any kind of light had faded to complete darkness. The girl slowed to a stop with a frown, one hand curled around her fairy-type's feeler as if it would protect her. "Why is it so dark in here?" She asked of her Sylveon, sounding a little out of breath but only received a disgruntled, displeased noise in reply. "I wonder if something happened to the lighting in this area... Maybe we're not supposed to be over here..?" Oh no! What if they weren't? Were there even scarier things over here? Maybe she should just turn around and take her chances outside...

Time seemed to slow down and swallow the pair. Adam didn't know how long he had been waiting and holding Akira. A minute, two, five, ten? Maybe longer? Manny was still missing. Maybe with the presence of his faithful partner things wouldn't be so terrifying. As it was, he could hardly stand to open his eyes.

Voices wafted across to where he sat. Lifting his head, he peered out into the dark and tried to speak, but found his voice lost. Clearing his throat, Adam gave it one more try, "H-hello?" it was hoarse, but it was probably loud enough to whoever was approaching them.

Haunted house for Hallowe'en! And in one of the most naturally spookiest places on the island! Tambrey had decided that she wanted to go to this.
She wasn't sure if she'd manage it or not- the lab workload had been somewhat brutal recently, with a lot of interesting, but very taxing, things happening- but she'd managed to get here!

The scientist had chosen to dress as a Purrloin. Or, in the style of a Purrloin. A fluffy, tufty, Purrloin ears-style headband, a distinctive tail, face paint for a little black dot on her nose and white markings on her forehead joined pink eyeshadow, a purple short, ruffled skirt dress, purple leggings, and white slip-on plimsolls to create her costume.
She wore her glasses still, despite the costume, and her hair was gathered back into her usual ponytail.

Her first port of call was to the outside area of the attraction, letting out an involuntary, short, shriek and then chuckling as she triggered one of the motion detecting gadgets; this one a green witches face, and hat, affixed to one of the trees. It cackled and flashed red eyes upon sensing the purple-clad rocket passing by.

[Alice, talking to Adam/unconscious Akira - near Hall of Mirrors]

As an unfamiliar voice reached her ears, Alice froze mid-step, eyes widening as she clutched her camera to her chest. Wait, that wasn't a scary voice. That voiced sounded scared - just as scared as she was. "Ah, um, hello," she replied uncertainly as she looked around, but the area was far too dark to see anything. Why was it so dark?

An idea struck her suddenly, and she quickly put her camera away and instead pulled out her phone. As the screen illuminated, it in turn illuminated her face, and she squinted at the sudden, almost painful brightness, but regardless she quickly navigated to her flashlight setting. A moment later the screen dimmed and the light on the back of her phone lit up, and she aimed it around to try to find the source of the voice. It didn't take long at all to find him - him and what looked like an unconscious person in costume - so she and Cassie hastened over and knelt down beside them to ask in slightly braver tones, "Are you okay?"

Adam held his breath, unwilling to let it go until he knew that the person who ha responded was.. well.. a person. Not some sort of hallucination brought on by the darkness.Who... who would have something like that happen? Haha, definitely not him.

The light flashed across the darkness, cutting it like a knife, and smacking Adam in the face hard enough to make him wince, "A-ah!" Ouchies. Using a free hand, he rubbed at his eyes while Alice approached, hoping the searing white would fade quickly. He stopped rubbing only when he heard her question.

"O-oh uhm...Well. K-kinda... I'm okay." Adam cleared his throat, flushing at how his voice wavered, "Just my boyfriend passed out and it's dark here. S'really ******** uncomfortable."
