Anja looked at him strangely. She tried to smell what he was, but all she could detect was pigeons and poop, "Who are you? Please, tell me." she took off the shackles and discarded the key as well, "Did you know my parents?" She knew they were in a hurry to leave but she had to have answers. Tousa would have to drag her away at this point unless the old male said something.

Prince Tousa of Darinest "I am who I say I am, Vashlimaa Alzireeka. Perhaps I did know them, perhaps I did not. That is not for me to say, after all, in this form I am but a simple keeper of messenger birds. I owe allegiance to no man or land. We will meet again however, though I do not think you will recognize me." The old man gave a small dip of his head before rubbing at his beard and looking to Tousa. "Prince, you must hurry, you will not have much longer before the new shift arrives." Tousa looked between the two of them, mounting onto his horse. "Come on Anja, you heard the old man, we must leave before we are caught." The horse pranced in a small circle, eager to take off and stretch its legs from its time in the stables. It was just as antsy as its rider.

Anja had to rescind herself to not knowing. She got up on the horse easily enough. With one last look, she made the horse start to walk, and then gallop. Who was he really? Once they were a good bit into the forest, she slowed her horse down to walking. She was distracted

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa followed after Anja, not even bothering to look back at the fort. He was placing blind trust in an enemy at this point onward. This was no longer his domain but hers and it made him feel uncomfortable. No soldiers in case things went awry. Once she slowed down it took his horse a few more trots before slowing and he walked his horse in a circle, waiting for her to catch up. As he did so he unstrapped the bow and quiver, using the quiver's belt to wrap the two items as a package. "Anja. You'll be needing this if I'm to get any use out of you this trip. Catch." He then tossed the bow over to her with an underarm launch. After the bow and quiver left his hand he drew the spear out and looked around. "So... The map said it was north east from here. The village. That's where we are headed right?"

Anja caught the bow and quiver easily. Then after strapping them to herself she looked up at the sky, to the starts, trying to find her bearings, "Yes, its this way." she looked straight ahead and made the horse move. She wanted to run as herself, this horse was so slow. It would have made an easy meal. Anja led the way into the forest. She was cautious for his sake. She knew where she was going and was confident about it all. She smelled plenty of prey but this wasn't time for hunting. Her aura changed once she was in the woods. She was no longer sarcastic looking and wild. It looked like she belonged here, which she did.

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa gripped for his spear and held onto it. His eyes could barely see anything in the darkness, and the moonlight didn't help much. He simply let his horse follow after hers. "I'm blind back here. You are my eyes right now." He reached and adjusted his clothing ever so slightly after a moment of riding, the kimono and hakama hanging loosely about his person as they rode. "Also how far would you like to ride before stopping for the evening?"

"I can see very well, don't worry, you are in good hands." Anja looked back at him. He probably couldn't see her, but she could see him, 'Depends, how far of a start do you want? If we don't go far enough we'll get caught tomorrow. Does your fort have tracking and hunting dogs? There is a river here we can cross a couple of times to throw them off the scent. Its shallow and won't touch us." she looked at the road ahead. It was so beautiful out here tonight

Prince Tousa of Darinest "No dogs at that particular fort. Plenty of cavalrymen though. Mostly heavy cavalry so the woods won't suit them well. You would not want to meet them on an open field though. Same with the heavy infantry unit that is stationed there. You might have seen them... They were the quiet ones with the dead eye look." Tousa stated with a shake of his head. "Trained since they were barely children. There's a good possibility that one of them could kill the both of us." He looked up at the moon. "We just need to be ahead of the group that will be heading to the village. Since they are marching tomorrow morning we have a bit of time and I would rather show up in the morning than in the middle of the night, less suspicious."

"I only asked about the dogs. That is a good thing, means they can't track us." Anja stopped her horse. She sniffed the air for anything that might harm them. All clear. She started back up again. This horse smelled bad and good at the same time. "We should get there an hour before dawn. That alright with you? We can camp out until its morning to go into the village."

Prince Tousa of Darinest "It was more information in case we ever encounter them. After all, tomorrow will be more than hectic for the fort while they are looking for me." Tousa stated. "I wouldn't be surprised if they deployed the entire garrison for a scouting around the fort to look for clues." He gave a nod, glancing to the forest. "Can we shorten that time if we go at a gallop rather than a trot? These horses are meant for scouting it seems like if their thinner builds are anything to go by. They can go for that long, but if we do they'll be tired by the time we get to the village."

"If we go fast for a long time, then it might attract some predators. Then again, we might not." if it was her pack they wouldn't be touched, but in this form with a human? Never knew. "But you can't really see so I don't think going faster is a good idea for you. Lot of low hanging branches. Unless you want me to hold your hand the whole way."

Prince Tousa of Darinest "I'll just lay low in the saddle. The horse wont let its head get smacked so as long as I am below that I should be fine." Tousa stated. "I just won't be able to see ahead all that well. If predators come you'll know about them will you not? I think we can handle most animals." He glanced around and then looked at his spear. Seemed sturdy enough. At the very least it wouldn't break on first impact.

"Fine. Lets go." Anja clicked the stirs on the horse and it started to gallop. Faster and faster they went. She made sure to keep checking behind her to see if he was still there. Good thing the his horse was following hers. It took an hour but they finally reached the borders of the village. She stopped and noticed how exhausted the horse was. She dismounted and walked over to a small stream that ran through this meadow before it became farmland. She let her horse drink, "Did you enjoy your ride?"

Prince Tousa of Darinest Tousa ducked down behind the horses head as they took off, trusting his horse to follow Anja's quickly. It was not a joyous ride as even behind the horses head he got smacked in the face once or twice, leaving a few scratches. However nothing that would dismount the man. Once they slowed and stopped, Tousa dismounted and tapped at his face a few times to check. "I'm not sure if you are talking to me or the horses Anja, but either case, I got smacked a few times by some branches. Nothing to bad, but other than that the ride was fine." After he finished dabbing at his face he moved over to let his own horse drink, brushing the horses neck as it did so. "You're a good steed, the man picked you well. Seems to have a knack with animals."

Anja looked over at him and laughed, "You look you've been in a fight. I think you may have a black eye." she went over and touched it, "Does that hurt?"
