  Aki held her tongue as she let Ronnel her guide her about. She disagreed with a number of things he said. Chewing on her bottom lip she sat on the edge of the cot. She reached up took hold of his hand. "Please just stay by me for a little bit." She asked pulling him down to sit beside her.

The silver haired man smiled softly and let himself be pulled down, nodding once.
"Of course Aki-chan. I'll stay as long as you need me to." He was going to tear that boy apart if he ever got his hands on him. Aki needed him now, and he had vanished from the face of the earth. He kept his thoughts quiet as he reached down and brushed some of her hair from her check and shook his head with a smile.

Aki rested her head against his shoulder. Maybe she was trying to replace the hole in her heart with Ronnel. No matter what, he was someone she needed right then and now. It was strange how comforting it was to be around someone else who was broken in their own way. Aki exhaled through her nose and looked at her hands. The diamond ring still glimmered brightly. But it was cutting, hurtful, to look at. She took hold of the ring and slowly wiggled it off. The woman turned it over in her hand before tightly closing her fist around it.

Ronnel had caught the motion from the corner of his eye, but said nothing. His other fist, the one in his lap that she couldn't see, was clenching so tightly that blood was welling from where his nails punctured the skin. The tattoo on his body was writhing under his clothes, seeking a target for the pain. But the person he wished to hurt was nowhere to be found, and all he could do was be the pillar for Aki's recovery.

Slowly she unclenched her fist and let the ring fall. It clattered on the ground with a chime like sound. "He's gone." She just knew that Vrail was no longer on the earth. He was at least gone from her world. "Would this make me a widow...?" She mumbled more so to herself.

Ronnel shifted from the cot and knelt down and picked the ring back up. He took her hand and placed it on her palm again, wrapping her fingers around it.
"It does. But you carry him with you. We always carry our loved ones with us." His thoughts flashed back to all of his friends - Jono, Sano, Katsuro, Spike... his friends who had died, leaving him here on this planet alone of their time. He smiled slightly and tilted his head to one side.
"You are not alone. Remember that Aki-sama." He moved back to the bench beside her, never realizing that he had picked the ring up with his bloody hand.

"But... it's too painful to carry him with me.." She trailed off as she opened her hand to see red covering the ring. "Blood?" Aki looked right to Ronnel's hand and took it by the wrist. "How did that happen?" Aki asked looking up from the injury to his eyes.

"It's nothing Aki-sama." One thumb on his other hand glowed green as Ronnel swept it across the bloody crescents in the palm of his hand. He took the ring from her and held it up, concentrating intently. Minuscule blades of wind, tinier than any eye could ever hope to see, swept around the ring as Ronnel turned it in his dry hand. Wherever the wind passed, the blood that had gotten onto the metal was stripped away, and at the same time some of the grime of life that had accumulated on the ring was stripped away as well, polishing it to a sheen that it had not seen since it was in the display case.
"Then find a place to lay him to rest for now, somewhere you will not forget how important he was to you. "He placed it back into her hand and smiled gently.

DANDii Lions-- The clone looked over her shoulder to Ronnel not quite noticing that Jay had fell back, "No no, I've got it handled. You go back in there." She gave him a few nudges trying to get him to walk away from the door. The real Aki came up behind her Sannin and tried to pull him back by the hood of his cloak. If succesfull the door would be shut by the clone, whom was then continuing her talk with Jay. "So! You'd like a teacher. Or something, I can help with that."

Aki watched as the blood and grim was cleared from the wedding ring. The gold and diamond blazed like fire again. But it was no longer a memento of what is but what was. It was now, for now, just a sharp reminder that Aki could no longer bare to drag in the dirt with her sad attempts through life. She stood up and walked over to the same display case that held the weapon and sword that Arekku had once used. Among some of the other relics inside there was a polished wood jewelry box. Unlocking the doors of the case she lifted the lid of the box to find the ring holder empty. Gently she eased the ring into the center then left the box. Leaving the box open Aki once again locked the doors of the case then sat back down beside Ronnel. Without a word, Aki shifted slightly and laid her head in his lap. Her exhaustion returned and doubled.

The clone smiled at Jay, "Follow me." She walked down the hallway and into the lobby. Aki paused for a moment and looked around. Finally she spotted who she was looking for. A man with sandy blonder hair and sharp gray blue eyes. "Ah! Tsune, just the man I was looking for. Could you help this girl with training?"
The man smiled, "Certainly. I am Tsune, shall we make our way to the training grounds?" Satisfied Aki's clone dispersed.

Ronnel smiled gently and ran his fingers through her hair.
"Rest Aki, rest. You need it now. I'll still be here when you wake up." His tone was soft and soothing - something that he had gotten a chance to work on in the hospitals. While physical comfort hadn't been needed, often his patients would need vocal reassurance as ht worked his business.

Jay nodded slightly as she slowly walked behind the Kusakages clone down the hallway and into the lobby where they stopped to meet the man."Sure lets get some training done!" A smile quickly formed on Jays face with out her even noticing.

Aki slowly drifted off to sleep. It was soothing to be in Ronnel's presence. He truly did his job as a Medic. The air about him was calming. She looked much like a child with her head resting in his lap.

Ronnel smiled as he stroked her hair, then dropped one hand down to his belt and uncapped a bottle of sand that was there. He poured some into his hand and began rotating it with his chakra - the exercise that had eventually given birth to his Rasensunakirei. Instead of working on the speed or to focus of this mini-tornado of sand, this time he was concentrating on silencing the buzzing sound that it generated as the sand particles tore through the air. He was going to make sure that he was strong enough to defend Aki when she needed it, that was all he could do for now. The memory of Vrail was surely to fresh in her heart for him to hope for anything more.
