Do you know of a faster way of earning gold other then posting and clicking links all day? Also, do you think I should spend my gold I have been saving for cat stuff on cloths so I can get out of the rags or should I still save up?

No. Other than lotteries and special events I don't beleive there is another way....

Why can you not be settled with collecting gold the original way?

Because all the stuff I want is expensive and you only get 1 gold for each link clicked and post. Hey, do you like those thoughts of the day thingy i've been doing?
