WROOOOONG Jack Napier. biggrin If you want to call 'Batman' from 1989 'canon'. Eh, I like to see it as something that carries. I mean, Batman's Bruce Wayne in every series, why can't the Joker always be Jack Napier? Because Batman was Bruce Wayne from the start, it's been consistent since the first book, as has The Joker been I.D.-less. Bruce Wayne has always been Batman since the gig started, even when his back was broken, he was still THE Batman. Bruce has always been reffered to as Batman. The Joker was only referred to as 'Jack Napier' in one movie, and never since and never before. It was put in for Hollywood sakes, and didn't stay consistant with the books. It's like asking why George Clooney doesn't always portray Batman. Because it's a liberty Hollywood took because they can.
