i'm not exactly emo but i wish i were...?
i love the style of dressing, art, and music but whenever i try dressing that way my friends discourage me. they say "omg he's trying to be emo!" and laugh. idk. black and green are my favorite colors. they just are. and my best friend broke my heart and uh yea. that threw me into a good 6 months of mild depression. or maybe severe. i dont know. but yea. i have curly dirty blond hair and i want stright black hair with green bangs. yea, that'd be awesome. =D

Until august I was a prep...a lot of things happened.
I am 16 and i am living alone...I hope this is enough to make you understand why i became an emo.

I still dress like a prep...but being emotional 24/7 and moodswings + self harm= emo, then i am an emo.

...You really don't just "become" emo.
It's just your personality & psychology.
How you see the world and how you react to certain events in your life. Some people take things more seriously than others, it's just life. Sadly, that is me lol.

My friend's dad used to abuse him as a young kid (bout 9-10) until he killed himself, and my friend grew up to be perfectly happy with life. Yes, he has to talk about it sometimes because it hurts him but he chooses to just be happy and forget the past and move on. He's probably going to get married soon to love of his life.

and then my other best friend had divorce issues with his parents to deal with and he chooses to hold onto it and trip into swirling depression & drinking.

It's how you take things in life or even choose to live them,
but that's just my opinion.

I didn't become emo by problems of mine, not quite at all.
It simply started with me being like, 8 (i'm 14) and I was all
little punker (my dads ex-gf's son was like, my role model, he's a d**k)
eventuall I drifted away from that and was 100% goth.
nowadays I am kinda goth/emo. I listen to every kind of music imaginable, and I combine the two fashions for my own, taking some punk aswell.

I'm a Hybrid, as my frind Brandon says.
I attract people with problems, I always have. And I love to help them.
I plan in the future going to university or college to become a therapist.

then she married this a-hole who beats her, i almost went to the edge.
im glad im here, and now im emo again, because im neglected by everyone around me....

Well, I was never really the ideal child. By 8, I was already hanging out with the older goth/emo kids. I guess it rubbed off onto me.

I became Emo becuase of a few reasons.
My friend was emo and she started showing me new music, clothes...ya know. ( I wasn't giving into social pressure)
my mom and me got into fights a lot
people gave me a lot of crap about nothing imparticular.

I became emo by seeing a really hot guy and he was like super emo and i was like i want to be like him and now i am pretty dam emo
