Phanari ZeddicusZorander I only took a quick glimpse, but it seemed everyone wanted to eliminate one of the villains, which is fine and everything 'cause that's ultimately where the book will lead, but I think it'd be an interesting twist if one of Richard's CLOSE friends died. Close indicating Zedd, Chase, or someone like that. Not Kahlan, though, because she's needed for the Boxes of Orden. Killing her would make no sense on either side of the battle. Let's look at the Divining Chart of Character Deaths. Zedd: Fans would get angry and kill Goodkind with a chicken hide. Chase: Not enough impact on the reader. Kahlan: Richard would kill himself.
But it's the last book. I'd expect something big like that to happen. Actually, I expected someone to die in Chainfire. I think Zedd, Chase, and Cara would be the top choices for the author to kill off because they're not crucial to success of Richard in beating Jagang. I don't know if anyone's read the Harry Potter series, but it's popular enough that I'll assume that people at least know what's happening. One of the more popular characters in that book, Dumbledore (whom I see as a somewhat Zedd-like figure in his importance), died in the 6th book. It makes sense to me.
A few other possibilities would be Verna, Ann, and Nathan. |
