Gresley backed his train into the empty Central Terminal. Mayor's Day was in full swing in the City Palace's elegant ballroom, where citizens of all ages were chucking their life savings to the new mayor's feet.

Holden checked his watch. 9:45, only 15 minutes to get to the safety of Dent, where they will spend the night until the government trains head back home. With an ear-piercing squeal of the brakes, the train came to a stop before the soggy group. The twins unlocked the carriage doors and helped load the supplies. Soon they were rattling over the high iron bridges and through the dark tunnels out to the dying valleys beyond.

As Gresley drove the train, Holden was tending to their friends in the carriages. He had just offered them tea and some slightly-stale Green cubes when a deep whistle was heard. The ominous noise shook the train's windows and sent chills up the group's spines.

"What the hell was that??" yelled a static-y voice from Holden's pocket.

Holden reached in and pulled out a radio. "I dunno, I'll check it out. Maintain your speed for now."

Holden opened a window, stuck his head out, and nearly screamed at what he saw. One round, orange headlight was bearing down on the Special from a distance; it was a government Prisoner Train.
