Kaimei tilted his head slightly. He tapped lightly on a holoconsole, flicking his finger upward lightly as he rapidly tapped out the security code. A low beeping trill followed before the tubes rose slowly but steadily. "Each seems to link to an elemental force, or so we think, but we can't be certain due to the results of how the incompatible people reacted," he said thoughtfully.

Kaimei tilted his head. "They'll glow brightly and obviously, pulsing in time to your own heartrate," he said simply. It was what he'd seen with the one empty tube that had 'chosen' its host. He knew they had likely noticed the empty pedestal upon examination of all the bracelets.

"You'd be surprised, hon... not many people who know Kaimei even find out about his workshop," a voice said dryly as a tall guy with reddish gold hair hanging down past his shoulder blades seemed to materailize from the darkness beyond the workshop. Kaimei jumped slightly in response to his twin brother's voice. "Saichi... the next time you do that, I'm going to use you for a football," he warned. He knew he wouldn't, but his twin brother tended to annoy him whenever he seemed to materialize from nowhere like that. His dark green-black eyes stared into his brother's dark violet blue ones. Saichi snorted, rolling his eyes. "You really need to get a sense of humor, outou," he muttered. His hair seemed reddish gold, but upon closer examination was as many as a dozen different shades of red, orange-gold, golden blond, and reddish blond. He was a few inches taller than his brother and quite a bit more muscular. He wore what seemed to be black spandex pants with dark blue-black military style boots and a dark gray tee shirt. "Let me show you about the 'Starblades'," he said dryly, walking toward the containment tubes as he held up one hand, slowly moving down the row. When he reached the next to last one, a dull silver bracelet with a dark violet-blue stone that seemed similar to iolinite, the gem in the bracelet started pulsing steadily with a pale blue light.

~~ Both Fox and Krystal's hands grasped the handles of their blasters, their eyes watching the strange new figure carefully, ears alert. Falco may have looked relaxed, but he too was on his guard. Even if Kaimei knew this guy, they didn't..and anyone could have been manipulated by Oikonny... ~~

Saichi glanced at his brother, who looked more thoughtful than irritated now. Kaimei exhaled slowly, tapping a single button on the holoconsole to release the bracelet. "The only reason I put up with you most of the time is that without each other, we have nothing in the way of family," he muttered. Saichi picked up the bracelet, then glanced at the other humanoids. "I'm not going to ask where they came from at the moment, or about what the heck happened to the city," he said dryly, slapping the bracelet on his wrist. Thin tendril-blades dug into his dark brown-gold skin almost immediately apparently from the underside of the bracelet, making him wince slightly. He felt the odd feeling of shuffling in his mind, as if the sentience within the bracelet was searching his memories for something before he felt a mental sensation like a lock closing and snapping into place. He felt a rush of adrenaline burst through him as the gemstone flashed a deep blue-white for a second before fading as the wounds inflicted healed into flame-like scars that were a deep violet black color.

Krystal blinked as the bracelet was placed on Kaimei's brother's wrist and snapped into place. She felt some intense energy coming from it... ~~

Kaimei tilted his head thoughtfully, noticing the bracelet's energy output before the feel of the energy dissipated slowly. Saichi shivered slightly. "That had to be the oddest feeling I've ever felt, though what kind of other abilities it has... we'll have to see," he said with a shrug as he stepped toward Kaimei, glancing at the blue-violet fox woman thoughtfully. It's obvious nii-chan has a crush on her, an' I know he probably won't mention it to her, he thought. Kaimei tilted his head thoughtfully. "Then it's a good thing I have an extension set up for... target practice," he said with a faint smile. "Yours seems to release a lot of static electricity, so it may be able to manipulate it in some way, while mine... I have no idea yet, but it seems to rely more on mid and close ranged combat than long ranged," he said with a slight shrug.

Kaimei cocked his head, glancing at Krystal. "You can try to see if one will synchronize with you... you don't have to just stand there," he said, half joking. He glanced at the other bracelets, which were bright silver on pale white, gold on deep red, pale silvery blue on deep oceanic teal-blue, and black on shimmering silver.
(The bracelets are 'metal on gem', just so it's clear.)

Kaimei shrugged. "They claim that any technology, if advanced enough, is indistinguishable from magic... so it is possible they're simply very, very advanced computers... probably more advanced than your own technology, though I doubt it," he said idly with a slight shrug, glancing down at his dark red-brown bracelet and slightly glowing green crystal. He found it interesting the symbiont seemed dormant for the moment.

Kaimei shifted slightly. "Oikonny... I'd wager he probably knows about some if not most of your abilities and technology... wouldn't hurt to have something he doesn't expect, like these," he said calmly, unsurprised.
