Rosie nodded at Sera's offer. Luke had said it, that it might be dangerous, more then that Rosie was scared. Worried for her sister.

tomorrow was going to be a rough day, but Rosie knew she had to be ready for it. she would get Faleen out of this situation... "Faleen always looked out for me when we were growing up, always."
Rosie would do the same for her.

Its battle time!

Despite a rough night for some of the trainers, the competition continues like like normal.

Trainers wake up early and head to the stadium locker rooms, while the audience gathers into the stadium seating.

Rolling will commence soon to determine who is battling who.

While Dove had stayed up late, finally speaking up to add to the conversation--though she and Henrietta seemed to be the only two not drinking-- she found herself up early, as her new routine demanded, and after a small breakfast and a short run, she had elected to go for a walk around the fields, attempting to find someplace safe to let her Pokemon exercise.

Now, as trainers started to pour back into the area, she, Sparky, and Lovey climbed up into the stands where the audience would be seated, and chose excellent seats not only for themselves, but for the others that wouldn't be competing, should they choose to join them.

"Yeeesss! You got awesome seats!" How the women was not hung over was a complete and utter mystery... or probably due to the fact that she had practically drowned herself in water while she was drinking.

But she was up, bright and grinning per the usual, stopping just behind where Tori was sitting with her hands on her hips, looking down over the arena.
with a cheeky click to Dove the tall women stepped over the seats to plop down into one next to Dove.
"Looks like we made it in time to watch the match ups."

The Battles started, announcing the first number of trainers pared up, each one being called out onto the field for their battle.

Rosie waited among the other trainers for her name to be called, hands clenched nervously at her side, Faleen standing next to her with her arms crossed, passively watching the battles as the trainers directed their pokemon to the cheering crowd around.

A lot of things were going through Rosie's mind, and none of it was preparing her properly for the battle she was going to face ahead, but for what she was going to say to her sister.

"Up next we have a young trainer from Johto, Henrietta Kassle and her opponent Rosie Ewell, from Kodo!"

Rosie looked over at Henrietta as their names were called, putting on a soft smile as the two were called out onto the field. "Looks like we get that battle after all!"

Taking up her end, drawing herself up as she stopped in the trainer box, Rosie faced Henrietta as the two trainers prepared to start the battle.

Henrietta had kind of fallen asleep in the bar the night before, and kind of felt a little disappointed that she might have missed spending more time with everyone, but the excitement of what the day was had been even better for her happiness, and energy levels, than a cupful of sugar could have been.

She waited, bouncing on her toes, and looking around excitedly, while Gummy sat at her feet... not really looking anywhere at all.
His tail twitched sometimes, seemingly in response to noise, but he didn't seem like a 'fired-up for battle' pokémon. His trainer seemed to have enough of that for both of them, perhaps.

As the match was announced, Henrietta's nervous excitement changed into an even more buoyant kind.
She put a thumb up to Rosie as she spoke, returning the soft smile with a rather giant grin.

"Awesome! Good luck! But we're totally gonna win!" Gummy waddled out with Henrietta; already chosen as her first pokémon. She'd seen no point in putting him into his ball just for this and probably would have argued with anyone who tried to make her.

Up in the stands Dith watched intently, waiting for one of his friends to come up in the battles. When not one but two of them appeared at once he gave a loud cheer and then brought two fingers to his mouth to give a piercing whistle. "Alright, this should be good!" Having only met Henrietta last night he had no idea what her battling style would be like, but hopefully it would be a fun match to watch!

Reaching down to one of the balls on her belt Rosie tossed it up, allowing it to pop open, a sparkle of pink light burst and broke away as a Lopunny jerked up from a called position, tossing her ears back with a girl "LOP!" and brought her fists up bouncing back and forth, ready for the battle.

"Alright Pop! Be ready!"

"Lopunny!" She snapped back pink eyes on the Todadile.

"Lets start with an Agility"

The Lopunny kept her fists up, but crouched low in her heavy thighs as she build up her ability to burst through speeds.

"Two of ours, oh man!" Ray cupped her mouth "BOTH OF YOU WIN!"
She wasn't sure how! but they better figure it out, becasue Ray didn't know who to cheer for.

Dove smiled brightly up at Ray as she took a seat next to her. "I got here really early, so I figured I would go ahead and take seats for us." she explained, shaking her head at how chipper the older woman appeared to be. "And yes, I think we did." She had been curious to see how they would be matched up, and though the idea of her companions being pitted against each other was a bit disheartening at first, she knew that in the end, this was all in good sport.

Unfortunately, the stands were too high for her to see many of the contestants clearly from so far away, so Rosie's unease went unnoticed for now. She had, however, picked them out of the larger group, and Henrietta's bouncing figure couldn't be mistaken, and drew a smile to her face.

She watched the match ups with Lovey lazily stretched out across her lap, until the few she names knew were called out. "Well, this should be fun!"

Though she had secretly hoped that Henrietta might be set against someone else who had just started--and not Rosie, who she personally knew took training very seriously and had obviously not just started out-- she was excited to see the girl battle again, especially when the younger trainer was so excited to fight anyway.

With a glance across the stands, she offered a larger wave to Dith, and a call over the loud chattering of the crowd. "Mr. Dith! You can sit with us! There's plenty of room!"

Sparky looked toward the man his trainer addressed, surprised at the man's sheer size. Never before had he seen a human so large...

When the two trainer's took their positions on the field--and Ray nearly busted her eardrum-- Dove stood up, adding to the cheers. "Come on Rosie! You've got this Henrietta!!!" Because, really, how was she to choose between them? At least there was no type weakness to be played off of between them.

She grinned over her shoulder to Ray, ready to learn. "So, about those strategies..."

Henrietta watched as Pop started speeding up, the first move being called by the other trainer.
Strategy wasn't exactly the young girl's strong point, but she sort of had one for once, and the speed-boosting move didn't too much to affect it.

"Awesome... Okay! Gummy, make that bunny uncomfortable! Leer!" This move was one of the few that seemed to suit the odd creature that Gummy was- his usually unfocused, odd, eyes changed- actually focusing on his opponent as he sent the specific stare her way. "And then we'll counter her next move with a Water Gun!" Calling her attacks a little earlier than necessary, probably, but what harm could that do? There was no type advantage, sure, but then again she might not have even remembered to consider it in her excitement anyway.
