Kokunai's gaze shifted as Shikayumi arrive at the training grounds per his invitation. He gazed at her intently his eyes once again doing a very slow scrupulous scan of Shikayumi, it was a habit of Kokunai's he wasn't being perverse simply reading whoever he came in contact with and making observations about them. "I read enough" Kokunai said calmly with a small undertone of playfulness dancing through his words. "She may have a temper on her, that reaction coupled with how she acted here earlier definitely suggests it" He mused his mismatched eyes unwavering in their fixated gaze. "I do not believe you could catch me to beat it out of me as you so eloquently stated" Kokunai said phlegmatically stepping backward underneath the shade of a tree. One of the many things Kokunai had read was her last name, and he always wondered if the Nara clan jutsu could work on target hiding in a shadow. Kokunai's shadow had disappeared once he entered the trees cover and wanted to see if she would react to his move and reveal the answer he desired.

"Besides we are of the same village, what is so wrong about being curious towards a comrade?" Kokunai said once again having a playful tone. Kokunai was a very intelligent person but playfulness certainly had to be his strongest characteristic. He could not help himself some insatiable hunger inside him drove him to a playful disposition almost all the time. Even in the heat of battle he could not help but be playful to some degree. There was a fine line between playful and flirty and Kokunai's mannerisms did not teeter from one to the other. It was very queer behavior to somehow be playful but not flirty, and somehow Kokunai managed this.

"If a shinobi were to steal a villages secrets, then it's a village duties to return said secrets back to there home. So that's what were going to test here today." Shikayumi pulled two kunai from her hip holsters; both with a unique tag attached to them. She would then slowly ease in closer to her target as she began looking for her opening.

In all reality this would be an ideal opportunity for both of them. An assasin with stolen secrets, and a shinobi whose job is to recover those secrets.

Daichi walked in to the traning grounds to see that two of his class mates where about to have a little battle it looked like he dicided that this was somthing he would like to see. So we got close anuff to beable to see what was going to happen but far anuff away to stay out of it. He was intreted in learning what his class mates where capable of and to the opportunity to check them out

"Hmmm...interesting. Quite the serious one you are. You would definitely make a good teammate" Kokunai said as he two reached into his back pouch before slyly gripping and removing the two kunai from either breast sheath. Did Kokunai put something in his hands before grabbing his kunai or was this a merely a trick to put Shikayumi on edge. A playful smile crept across Kokunai's visage as he was excited to see just what this woman could do.

"She knows I use katon, and I know she is a nara and medical nin. It will be quite interesting to see how this plays out" Kokunai contemplated realizing the two were pretty much on even grounds as far as knowledge went. He knew after having spent a few hours training before Shikayumi arrived Kokunai was at a distinct disadvantage as far as chakra went but perhaps that wasn't all that bad. "If I let her win, perhaps it will come in handy later. Though if I can beat her now then she may respect me which will also come in handy later" Kokunai thought as his stance widening not yet knowing which strategy would prove the most efficient against this opponent. Both kunai were held upside down. Kokunai wasn't particularly strong, speed was his game and as such slashing was much more efficient than brute force for attacks. Whether or not Shikayumi would perceive that has yet to be seen.

"Ladies first" Kokunai said playfully giving a bow, the boy was rather genuine but his gaze at the girl admitted that he was going to thoroughly enjoy this game.

Xantos would approach Silence and Whisper and look at them. "My teacher is requesting something of me. It appears that I am required to show my skills for her evaluation." He said this objectively, and almost mechanically.

He'd look at Silence straight through the eye-holes of the mask. "Hit me." The medic would tell him, and put his feet in a bit of a fortified and steady stance. Never once been in a scuffle in his whole life, barely knew anything to fight with too. At the very least, he could see what he was capable of. He was unsure if this would be a two on one match, but it worked for him either way.

Shikayumi studied his opponents stance closely; both daggers upside down. This, along with his chosen stance, most likely meant that he's a brawler; a hand-to-hand combatant who would only throw his knives in a last ditch effort."Have it your way, Eyah!"

Shikayumi threw the tagged kunai from her right hand at Kokunai in a downward angle. Landing just a few feet from Kokunai's feet, the tag would begin to flare. In the academy, they taught the students that this was a sign that it was going to explode.

Kokunai smiled at Shikayumi's acceptance. He had hoped she realized the two were just sparring but even if she did consider it a life or death fight Kokunai would refuse to use lethal force. As Shikayumi let loose the kunai Kokunai jumped backwards quickly building chakra into his feet, his arms twisted and with it his back arched causing him to do a 90 degree rotation so that when he landed against the tree he would be facing upward.

Kokunai planted and rocketed off into cover of the leaves dropping a small pellet from his left hand as he enter the leaves. When the pellet touched the ground a loud bang erupted out followed by a huge plume of smoke. Kokunai used this cover to jump to another tree, concealing himself in that canopy. Hide and seek was one of Kokunai's favorite games and it was something he was quite good at. He could hide his presence from anyone his rank with ease once concealed and often did so in spars or just for fun to test his ability. His eyes peered out from the cover of the trees being sure to stay in the shadow of the foliage so that light would not strike his eyes and give away his position. "Let's see how she handles deception" Kokunai said knowing that unless Shikayumi had a hidden kekkai genkai she would not be able to find him without being incredulously lucky. Kokunai had relocated to a tree that was roughly forty yards to the left of his original position. A forest of this size was perfect for navigating from tree to tree because the branches were so large that paths between trees could be hidden by their intersecting leaf patterns.

"Phase two will begin soon enough. I am unfortunately at a significant disadvantage due to not having all my chakra" Kokunai pondered his situation while studying Shikayumi and the burning tag wondering if it would explode as predicted. "I could always continue training. Though the jutsu will just continue to get more lethal. Perhaps if I intentionally miss or use them as distraction she will not hate me after the fight" Kokunai thought not wanting to end his training or his spar at this current moment.

Shikayumi watched Kokunai leap into the treeline just before he covered his tracks with the smoke bomb. Seeing how she was taught to fight from a level, or higher ground, she followed suit. The tree she moved to was directly ten yards behind her, enough space to map out her next move.

She watched as the smoke cleared, revealing a fizzled out tag; it was a dud. She looked upon it with a concern face; maybe it was dampened earlier in the day? "I need to find him before he finds me." She thought as she pulled out another tagged kunai. "As long as I can keep him at long range combat, I can use my tags without the risk of them exploding in my face." she kept her back close to the trunk; keeping both her eyes, and her ears open for her target.

”Clever girl.” Kokunai concluded smiling when seeing her counter move. ”I did not see her copying that move, quite an interesting tactic. Though she should have done something to conceal which tree she entered, unless she isn’t intending to hide but merely to gain even or perhaps higher ground than myself… This fight just gets better and better!” Kokunai mused entertained by the strategy of this woman. His mismatched eyes were fixated on the tree she entered intently watching for any signs of movement or chakra fluctuation to give him a hint as to what she is up to. It only made sense she was a medic nin so in turn she should be quite deft at strategy. ”What to do now, this looks like it will take some time. I really wanted to continue training but this is quite entertaining as well.” Kokunai thought as he continued to weigh his options. He really was caught between a rock and a hard place. Did he wish to just give in and continue training or continue sparring but sacrifice time and chakra he could use to train. Decisions decisions, and Kokunai couldn’t really spend any more time mulling the two over. Then the idea hit him, why not do both? "That is exactly what I'll do. It will be the best way to continue both training and to continue testing my new friends" Kokunai concluded agreeing with his own proposition. Once more energized by the idea of being able to continue training and sparring at the same time Kokunai’s gaze and disposition returned to its normal playful nature. ”Time to have some fun.” Kokunai thought with excitement formulating a strategy in his head for how to go about killing two birds with one stone. Kokunai had seen which tree she entered and didn’t see any motion from said tree so he guessed she was still there.

"It will give away my position but it will be a lot of fun" Kokunai mused with excitement as he began to build up his chakra. He knew exactly what jutsu to try out and how it would benefit him during the fight. Kokunai formed the seals and released the chakra into the air behind the tree he was standing in " Katon: Neshou Bunshin (Fire Release: Burning Clone)". Three blazing clones of fire formed looking exactly like Kokunai as they finished forming. The light from them forming would alert Shikayumi that Kokunai was somewhere near that tree but with the clones being there now and Kokunai once again suppressing his presence it wouldn't be easy to see through this ruse. Kokunai nodded as two of the clones dashed out from cover in opposite directions making a very wide arc around their intended target was to close in on the tree Shikayumi was in. Kokunai threw one of his kunai to the third clone being sure to do so behind the cover of the tree so he wouldn't give his presence away. As the two clones continued to make their wide approach the third stepped out holding the kunai upside in its left hand glaring at Shikayumi’s original position with an intense look. "Let's see how she handles this." Kokunai thought wondering how she would go about this decision. Which if any would she think was the real Kokunai, her choice would help Kokunai better understand her while simultaneously allowing him to update his strategy.


"And now for the final touch. I'll certainly miss by a good margin but perhaps it will be enough to show my stuff. This will be pretty unpredictable as well so it won't reveal too much about my style" Kokunai contemplated as he began to build chakra. This would let Shikayumi know there was either a fourth clone or Kokunai in the tree which would only make the decision harder for her. Which one was the real Kokunai? Only time would tell her guess but as chakra continued to build and mold it became apparent that the Kokunai in the tree regardless of it being a clone or not was up to something that would be quite unfriendly if it made contact with Shikayumi.
”Just a bit more that is all it will take, I will miss but it should startle her enough that she could mess up her counter and then a weak spot may open up” Kokunai pondered this possibility as his chakra was almost finished being built up. He knew the longer it took the more time Shikayumi had to aim at him but two of the three clones were closing in on her so she would have to decide which posed the greater threat. The attacks coming head on or what could possibly lie in the tree. Kokunai could not wait to see which she chose and the anticipation was beginning to kill him as his chakra had finally finished building.
”Hopefully she will leave the tree otherwise this technique will have to miss by a lot more than intended. I can’t really set the forest on fire.” Kokunai mused knowing the destructive power of the jutsu he was about to unleash could easily burn down the surrounding area if not carefully aimed. He formed the seals and held the last one as he took in an incredulously deep breath while still holding the final hand sign. ” Katon: Yurika no Jutsu (Fire Release: Fire Lily Technique)” He thought continuing to hold in the breathe waiting for Shikayumi to decide her move before unleashing the technique. Hopefully the appearance of a frontal assault mixed with Shikayumi sensing some sort of technique coming from the tree would flush the girl from cover. Kokunai did not wish to harm the girl and he wouldn’t, this technique was costing a lot of his chakra and was very powerful. Kokunai wouldn’t release until he knew Shikayumi’s next move so that he would be sure not to accidentally make direct contact. He did not feel superior to the shinobi in anyway, he simply did not have enough faith in himself to control a technique of this level with such skill as to intentionally miss her while predicting her move.

Shikayumi's eye caught a glimpse of a flickering light just a few yards behind the tree she saw Kokunai enter. "He must have moved while i was adjusting into this tree." she thought as she watched inventively. It was only a matter of seconds til she began to see movement. "One to the left....one to the right...huh?" She then noticed the flaring flicker from the origin of the movement.

"Knowing my target is alone it's safe to say he's using clones to re-position himself, but which one is the real Kokunai..." she pondered. Her jutsu were limited, and in this situation she would have to pursue her target in the field. Shadow manipulation on multiple fronts was a huge gamble, and healing her opponent would get her nowhere. all she had left was mind games. Kokunai was forcing her hand, and it really rustled her to think.

"He works in the shadows; a real mirror match this is." She knew she would have to change the rules in order to throw her opponent off guard. Having a lock on his base of origin, Shikayumi rounded left through the branchline; knowing that maintaining cover in the trees. She knew that if she meet her targets one on one they would be easier to handle. As she moved left through the trees she seen the approaching clone and fired the tagged kunai in her left hand at the target; aiming for the upper right shoulder.

Silence regarded the young man, so obviously hyuga. For their fighting style the hyuga would have a pretty nasty reply to most of their actions. Though he still regarded him with a calm look, his eyes locked into the hyuga's gaze.

Whisper started to step forward and Silences arm was placed in front of her for the moment, his mask turning towards his sister for the moment."He vants us to hit hem!" She said in her own defense.

Silence turned to the Hyuga with his arm still up and across her chest."Im not just going to start a brawl, ve were meeting our sensei who seems to have left before ve could speak. Who is ze person that sent you? He said in a rather calm manner. Silence was supposed to be the level headed one and didnt want Whisper to charge into something. They were ordered to meet their instructor in this place but were unsuccessful thus far.

► "I'm okay," he says slowly as he stands up, immediately realizing he made a mistake and raising his hands defensively. "No! I mean.. I don't care that you're a girl.. I just wasn't expecting... Uhh..." He stammers a little and blushes as he looks down, his heart pounding in his chest. He was only stuffing his foot further into his mouth. "You know what I mean!" he retorts suddenly, frustrated by his lack of eloquence and wishing she'd have never brought it up in the first place.

Looking her up and down quickly one more time, he figured that she was indeed the partner he had been waiting for. "Yamanaka Noriko?" he repeated, nodding a little. "I'm Jun... Matsumoto Jun," he added on quickly with a quick and awkward dip of his head. Man, this girl made him flustered. "We're supposed to train together, right? I don't know where our teacher is, but they told us to come here, so..." he trailed off with a quiet shrug. "I guess we should practice. What are you good at?" ◄

"Big Things Have Small Beginnings"

Kokunai watched as she darted across the treeline not coming free from cover which was unfortunately. The kunai caught the clone in the shoulder sizzling on contact and blowing up a few seconds after due to the explosive tag attached to the kunai. "Looks like a very good miss it is" Kokunai though knowing she wasn't going to leave the inside. He was beginning to feel his face turn red and couldn't hold in this technique any longer. He jumped from cover firing off the technique.

Four large fire balls erupted forth all of them crashing into ground before the treeline, the heat and light from the explosion only 10 or so yards from Shikayumi. It was obvious by this technique that Kokunai was attempting to distract Shikayumi the explosions and resulting fire obstructing her view from Kokunai and the two remaining clones. Kokunai's remaining arching clone was closing in on her position and Kokunai upon impact of his fire lily jutsu had sprinted down and replaced the position of his third clone having it toss Kokunai the kunai before darting back into the treeline. Kokunai was hoping that Shikayumi would think Kokunai left cover to fire off the jutsu and then returned to it not noticing that the real Kokunai had switch places but this girl was smart so anything was possible. Kokunai was trying to slow his breathing while the flames still burned hoping he could pull off this ruse. He knew he was running low on chakra but he could not stop now he needed to learn more and see just how this strategy would play out.

The clone that had been arcing around on the right would have reach the fire now and proceeded to leap over it rolling into the tree line before dashing up the tree Shikayumi was supposedly in. If she had not adjusted from the impact of the jutsu the clone would be on top of her. It was quite obvious Kokunai wanted her out of cover and was doing everything he could to ensure that she would come out. The third clone was waiting, concealing in the tree line obviously wanting to come out and surprise attacking Shikayumi is she came for the real Kokunai who was waiting out in the open.

Kokunai began to build up chakra knowing that he would be only have enough to learn one more awesome jutsu before he barely would have enough to stand. ”Well let’s get to it then, we haven’t a moment to lose” Kokunai mused knowing if he was going to try a technique he would have to do it now while he had the focus and time before Shikayumi could counter. Kokunai quickly built up his chakra knowing he would have to make his move now. Kokunai sheathed his kunai and held his hands out focusing heat between the two. A glowing orb appeared in his left hand and was just sitting there meant to be shown off instead of used. It gave off a radiant glow and seemed to have an inviting feel. ” Katon: Kudakasei no Jutsu (Fire Release: Shatterforce Technique).” Kokunai thought holding the orb in his hand. He was no longer breathing fast but was instead panting, beads of sweat were trickling down his brow as he knew he didn’t have the chakra left to cast anymore jutsu of significance.

” I cannot hide how tired I am, she can certainly see it and must know this is the real me.” Kokunai thought continuing to watch the flames burn. This spar training session hybrid had put great strain on him and he was beginning to feel it. ”I won’t be able to learn any techniques.” Kokunai thought as suddenly something strange was beginning to happen, he could see. This wasn’t just regular sight something different was happening, Kokunai could really see. His eyes were picking up everything, they appeared to be perceiving the slightest of movements with ease. Each time a tendril of flame forked out Kokunai could clearly see it. Kokunai was a perceptive man but this level of perception was something he was unfamiliar with. ”It’s impossible.” Kokunai thought sheathing his kunai as he lost track of Shikayumi. This level of perception was usually only available to one family of shinobi but Kokunai couldn’t be part of that could he? This realization cause the orb in his hand to dissipate. Kokunai’s concentration had broken and with it so did the technique. If Shikayumi met his gaze she would clear see a single tomoe in each eye, Kokunai was an uchiha!

He continued to pant his body obviously wobbly showing just how much chakra he had spent. ”Thank you.” Kokunai mumbled in Shikayumi’s direction. This had truly been a wondrous experience and it wasn’t even over! Kokunai stood shaky but determined waiting to see if his fire lily and clone could push Shikayumi from cover.
