The man was distracted by Adele, and Rue was standing there waiting for the man to strike.
So he did. But instead of attacking Rue, the man tried to hurt Adele.
Rue's eyes widened and he tried to stop him before he hurt Adele.

Adele tried to protect herself as best she could. "Please...Don't protect me!" she said, flinching away from the man.

It was a command Rue could never follow. He grabbed the man by the back of his head and lifted him off the ground. The man yelled in pain as Rue squeezed.

Adele tried to move away from the man. She struggled to free herself. "Rue..." she whispered, praying that he'd be okay.

Rue's teeth started lengthening. He opened his jaws and prepared to take a piece out of the man's neck.

Adele watched until then. "Stop!" she cried. "Don't kill him, yet..."

Rue abruptly stopped trying to feast off of this man. He looked over to Adele, "What shall I do with this mortal?" He asked.

"...kill him, but spare the others," Adele said. "Let them learn never to cross us again without blood being unnecessarily spilled."

Rue was a little madder when he realized that he wouldn't be able to feast on the man.
The man managed to turn his arm around with the weapon. It caught Rue in the waist. While normally he would have been cut in half, Rue's skin was steadily becoming more dragon-like and therefore a lot more resistant. The machine sparked as it did nothing against Rue, "Too bad mortal," Rue snarled, "Say goodbye now," He then crushed the man's skull into the wall. Blood splattered everywhere.

Adele yelped when she saw him get caught by the weapon, but was relieved to see that he was unharmed. She turned to the others after Rue had killed the man. "Get the hell out now, it you know what you're doing," she snarled. "Cross our path again and you'll regret it."
She turned back to Rue. "Could you help free me?" she asked him.

Rue dropped the corpse when the men fled. He went and untied Adele's hands and feet. Then he ran. He knew he couldn't keep a human form with his anger at the level it is. He needed to transform and vent.

Adele rubbed her wrists as she stood. She looked after Rue but knew how angry he is. She ran quickly back to her room and slumped on the bed.

Rue went to a clearing not far from where Adele was and transformed. He roared and ripped at some trees.

Adele curled up on the bed and tried to fall asleep despite everything that had happened.

Rue spent a good hour there. When his rage was finally down to just normal anger, he transformed back and ran back to the town. He walked into the room and gently propped the door in the frame. He then sat down on the chair next to Adele and fell asleep, not caring that his head was bleeding a bit from when he was struck before.
