Wantcookie D'aww, Owwin is a Grumpy-Gills. Anything we can do to make you not commit omnicide? KILL YOURSELVES FIRST! No I will be okay I just need to practice drawing. One of my good friends was talking to me about my art and basically told me I don't practice hard enough. The thing is I always practice. It is so ******** frustrating hearing that. I hate not being good enough, it is my biggest fear.

i think it's a 'douche'She didn;t mean it to be hurtful. She was trying to tell me that I will improve if I work at it, but she doesn't realize how bad I want to learn this and how hard I already try. She has been good at drawing for years. It is just so frustrating though. I sit between all of my friends in illustration, but they are all so amazing, and my hands just won't work. I ******** hate my hands.

Have you taken classes, or are you self-taught? EDIT: I assume "Illustration" is a class, then?

Wantcookie If it were me, I would have asked you how often you get practice, first. And honestly, I think you're really damn good. Have you taken classes, or are you self-taught? EDIT: I assume "Illustration" is a class, then? I took arts and crafts in grade school one a week from 1-8th, but that class was dumb as hell. This is the first class I am taking, but that is because I thought we would be learning animation. I am mainly self taught.

Caramel Kisses Everyone's art-style is different, though,
so it's not rreally all that fair to compare yourself to others, nyu. It isn't the style I am discouraged by. It is the clean line art and great perspective work, the posing, shading, and all of that basic crap. I just can't get my hand to make the lines right.

Orphie Sometimes that's all it takes is years to get drawing down. Only in the last couple months have I started to actually like my own art style. I can give you tips or something if you want. But I have been drawing for years and I am not much better than I was a few years ago. I don't have forever.
