you might have to change your settings a little. Like make it fast instead of fancy, and reducing the render distance from far to normal. Personally I often have it on short on multiplayer
There are other ways to avoid it. You might want to look into the minecraft forums for extra things you can do.

It's all done in first person. Block by block. By me.
The castle was done by someone else. About 6 or so of the houses were done by someone in this guild. But everything else is my doing, including the lamps.
