I then started to think of scenarios of me involving them at around my age, mostly because they had that chibi kid-like appearance on the boxart and in the manual.
If you think about it, I was more familiar with the characters Eiji, Kayin, Sofia, and Ellis (and Sho to an extent) because they were in that game. Since Tracy was not in that one, but in the 2nd game for the PS1, after reading up on it, I figured she was cool enough as well. Other than those guys, and Gaia and Uranus to serve as the bad guys, I didn;t really pay attention to anyone else, hence why I skip over three of the characters (Rungo, Mondo and Fo) I fought in the first episode. I followed the lineup from the GB version.
Also... look at it this way.
In this day and age, the series is practically dead.
And the 5th Toshinden game that we've heard of being in the works won't have any of these old chars in it. At all. Period.
It's sad, yes. I see this as a chance for me to re-invent the chars I've focused on.
I just find them too interesting to just toss aside, like Square Enix did to Geno.
