TWO BIG THINGS TODAY!
First, I'm assisting in a new roleplay that shall be coming out in the next few days....
No... not galvan 2.
This one has the same set up as the first galvan though... the focus is INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS!
*LE GASP!*
And it's set in a universe many of my fellow residents in geekdom should recognize.... THE STAR WARS UNIVERSE! DUN DUN DUNNNN!!!!
You're groaning aren't you? Probably because of the massive amounts of star wars roleplays that are out there.
But this is unlike any other Star Wars roleplay attempted.
Uh huh... sure... it's unique... right...
No it really is!
Why you ask?
Well... the answer is simple. NO JEDI! That's right! No player characters (or NPC's) will be jedi! Nor will anyone have lightsabers! O.O
*DOUBLE LE GASP, followed by the sounds of several thuds from star wars fans fainting*
Can we get housekeeping in here? Otherwise we've got fuel for a bonfire xd ... anyway... what was I saying? Oh yes...
Now any conscious star wars fan out there remember to breathe while I explain. How can we possibly do a Star Wars roleplay without lightsabers?
SIMPLE! This is going to be a roleplay focused on a fighter squadron. The dynamics, the missions and such! How the pilots interact, relationships, friendships, rivalries.
There will be X-wings, and A-wings, Y-Wings and B-wings. Pretty much the alphabet soup of star fighters.
Who's running this you may ask? Not me, I'm merely assisting ^_^ Since i'm an uber star wars geek. Danadien_Cortavere, who is a very good friend of mine ^_^ (and many of you should recognize the name as she's becoming a regular here, though Pandali has yet to give her her nick name. xd )
It's going to be a LITERATE roleplay, where emo's aren't accepted and where it's expected people aren't... you know... total morons >.>
Now the big news..... I'm actually going to be JOINING this roleplay! O.O

Yeah... joining my first roleplay on Gaia in 2 years, and joining my first one since Talon introduced me to teh RPR. Yeah, I'm vice captain and never participated in someone else's rolepaly. Go figure.
That should TOTALLY spark your interests! Even now Danadien (reece) has me locked inside her closet since she's wondering what the hell kind of shameless plug I'm writing.

Yep. I have. And she ain't comin' out anytime soon, either.
Did anyone else have that "SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!!11!11!!!1" voice in your head for that?
She did forget to mention one other thing. I'm gonna be a bit lazy about it...yup, you heard me...this is your squadron so it's your story. And I'm gonna have minimal interaction with it's direction (not to say that there isn't a basic plot, but the fulfillment will come in gentle nudges instead of the ol "T-rex on the plains" syndrome...an actual event in which a T-rex materialized out of nowhere in an otherwise open and barren field for the sole purpose of chasing the players of the game back onto the main road. It's said that the game ended very shortly thereafter).
There's also gonna be a lot more ships than that by the time you guys are finished razz
But...yeah.
This is my first attempt at one of these, so I'm expecting hiccups; once I get it posted up in the main forum I'll take any input you want to give.
Oh, by the way? All that was totally her idea. I didn't ask her to.

Wow, Krome. I'm quite surprised. If I knew enough about Star Wars, I would consider joining, but I would get lost in all the confusion of terms that are highly common to Star Wars fanatics.
Good luck, Dana! *watches to see if she will measure up to Krome's own rigorous standards* So boht Dana and Pansa are being put to tst. Interesting... *grabs a video camera and advertises this event on national television*
IE7 just came out with a better version. Much more complete. I trust that it is near perfect, although still bets. It is supposed to work a lot better than IE6.

I dont know which one we have, but it wont accept the code for my drop bar... So, i'm putting the links in smaller font below it so people can acess everything, even if the dropbar doesnt work...

Chances are that you have IE6. Most everyone does. IE7 literally JUST came out within the past few days.

Yes, I did hear the 'sunday, sunday, sunday' voice in Krome's post. XD
I think I was one of the Star Wars fans that fell over and groaned in disbelief when she said there are no jedi. sweatdrop And I'm not too much of a fan of pilots...
But! It still sounds fun. And it takes away all that angsty dark side crap too. Huzzah. Now we just get people who are normally angsty. XD

I think you'd be pretty pleasantly surprised at what a normal person can do...but yeah, I'm probably gonna end up missin' the jedi thing too. But rules is rules, and the jedi thing has been done so much.
If you make a game that allows them, no one ever wants to be anything else.
That's annoying. >.<
By the way, did you know that in German, "Jedi" is pronounced similarly to "Yeedee"?
Kinda demystifies 'em for me
