I remember an episode where they were in ancient Rome, and there's was a place called a Vomitorium.

They'd go and toss their cookies and stuff.
Ah, it is indeed a real term for it!

A vomitorium is a passage situated below or behind a tier of seats in an amphitheater, through which crowds can "spew out" at the end of a performance.

So throwing up was considered applause, too? xd
