At her sister's response, Erin didn't look up to meet Elle's piercing gaze. True, she had felt Elle open her mind to her, but Erin wasn't going to just jump in there to read the information there when her sister was being so.... cold. To tell the truth, right now, Erin was scared of her sister. Scared of what was happening to the very person that shared the same DNA she did. Even though Elle was saying they didn't have actual parents, Erin couldn't bring herself to believe that in its entirety. There had to be people out there that they could call parents.

Elle's telepathic speech in her mind jolted Erin to attention. She froze for a moment as she listened to what Elle was telling her. What Elle was saying was... almost too believe-able to be true. But Erin knew it probably was. However she didn't remember ever doing anything to manipulate Noel's mind when they first met her. But even more than knowing that they had manipulated Noel, Erin was shocked to hear what her sister said next. It was almost as if Elle was disowning her, but not in so many words. Her sister just put it in a roundabout way.

The final statement Elle uttered before leaving Erin and Cecilia in that room alone stabbed into her emotions like a million knives. Erin was hurt, but she did not show it outwardly. Instead, Erin remained standing where she was, her back facing Elle as she left the room. She kept her gaze focused on the floor near her feet and didn't even look up at Cecilia until the Azure Owl had finished speaking after a couple of minutes. "It's alright, Cecilia... You did what you thought was right. But you're right. Elle won't stay mad at me forever." Erin replied, even though she had the feeling that Elle would never forgive her, finally lifting her head up. After all, she did know her sister the best out of anyone. She then forced herself to give Cecilia a small gentle smile as she turned to face the other girl. "Thank you for understanding. After all, this is a matter that should be kept secret from everyone. We do have a bigger problem on our hands with this New Exire business and these rebels here in South America." That said, Erin turned her attention to Cecilia's offer of going out to eat lunch. "Thank you for your offer. I hope I won't be imposing if I accept. Just pick the place and time."

Moli cocked a brow when Aeon broke the news to her. Following the look of slight confusion was a curt grin that let her know that she was happy for her sister. Tilting his head slightly, he leaned forward to his lover quietly asking, "Exactly how old is Amara anyway? And I'm not spoiling anyone...that's your job Auntie Aeon. I'm that boring uncle no one likes..."

Nikolai looked at the menu for another few seconds the said, "Yep, I've been having a craving for fresh spaghetti for weeks." He closed up the menu and signaled to the waiter, who quickly came over and took his and Anya's order. Taking a sip of the soda he had ordered, Nik smiled lightly and asked, "So are we going to stick around with the group after this South American thing? They may need our help again. I mean, if we're just going to go our own way, that's fine, but do you think they'll need our help?" Nik stared across the table at Anya, sipping his drink lightly and waiting for her answer. He was on the fence himself about what they should do; he could see why he might want to help the group, but he didn't exactly want to go putting Anya or himself into more danger unnecessarily. But whatever the case was, he would go along with whatever Anya chose to do, even if it did put them in a position to be killed.

When the waiter came to their table, Anya gave the man her order. As the waiter ran off to give the kitchen word of the food choices, Anya leaned an elbow on the edge of the table. She knew it wasn't polite to do that, but she did it anyway. That was just how she was. The poison owl looked out the window for a couple of seconds before she heard Nikolai's question. Anya blinked and looked back over at Nik. "Huh? What are you talking about? Who said we were sticking around to help with this thing in South America? We don't have to. Besides, we went over this already: you know I won't be able to help much on a battle field in this case. Anyway, they have more than enough people for the job. They don't need us around." She finished with a shrug. Anya paused or a moment, glancing out the window before looking back at Nikolai. She was contemplating whether or not she should say what she was thinking of saying. Was it wrong for her to want to apologize for yelling at him earlier on the plane ride here? Before she could stop herself much more to think about it, Anya spoke up, "I want to apologize.... For what happened on the plane..." she stated at a low volume so other people wouldn't really hear her, except for Nik.

Kate had long since left the UNS building after the meeting had ended. In fact, she had left just after Demi had come back and then left again. She was wandering around the city in which the UNS building was located, milling around amidst the locals. Most of the conversations she heard were in the native language, but there was the occasional persons talking in English. One such conversation was between two tourist friends. One was exclaiming how they wanted to buy something as a souvenir for their family members. Kate couldn't help but hone in on that discussion. Because she had no one to really think about as family. Yeah sure she had her mother, and her father was somewhere. But Kate didn't really consider them parents at all.

With a sigh, Kate kept moving, away from the depressing conversation between the two friends. She wanted to be away from things she didn't really want to think about.

Cecilia refrained from hugging the young woman. Yes, Cecilia was what most people would call, affectionate at times. And while the girl before her looked like she could use a good embrace, Cecilia stopped herself. After all, this was her first time really speaking to her. She did not know much about the girl, only her name, the fact that she was a telepath, and that she had a wonderful artistic talent. Instead, Cecilia opted to gently pat Erin upon the shoulder reassuringly instead of a friendly embrace. "The matter here in South America comes before Exire. Besides, while I have visions, I cannot determine when what is happening in them is going to happen and as we all know, the future is never set in stone so it can change with even the smallest decision." Cecilia then thought for a moment before shaking her head. "Why don't you choose? We can go now if you want. It really makes no difference to me. I'm not too picky when it comes to food." Living on the streets for most of her life, the young Azure Owl could not afford to be picky and had to often take what she could get back then. She waited patiently for Erin to ready herself if she needed to.

Che returned the cowl he wore around his neck back to the top of his head to block what sunlight he could. Having one's body covered in paper didn't make walking around in the heat any more bearable. Him unbuttoning the second highest button on his dark brown shirt helped only somewhat. In his short travel to the north side of the building, he caught sight of the ever depressed Kate who seemed to be moving about like the ghostly, transient presence she brought with her wherever she went. He knew how to get her attention, but for someone like her, it may only ellicit and simple roll of her eyes followed by a sigh. From his wrist and upper right torso came a few pieces of paper that formed an articulate, but rather light rose. The wind carried it over to her and the bushy haired man who now stood smirking waited for her to turn around.

As Cecilia placed a hand on her shoulder, Erin's smile grew ever so slightly even if she was basically forcing herself to smile at this point with what just happened with Elle. "True. The business in South America does take priority right now." she replied with a light nod, "And if I understand correctly, we'll both be going with Che?" she added with a small question at the end just to make sure she had heard the Mastering Owl correctly back in the meeting room. "As to where we should go to eat, I don't really know. I've never been to this city before even though I am originally from South America." Erin replied with her smile turning slightly sheepish. Even though Elle had said they weren't from any particular country, Erin would still work under the assumption that they came from Brazil until there was definitive proof to confirm what her sister had told her. "I can recommend local cuisine though. Brazilian food is wonderful." Erin added as she headed for the door to exit the room. Opening the door, she stepped out and held the door open for Cecilia.

Kate had not taken twenty steps before a flicker of motion caught her eye. Blinking in slight confusion, she turned her head to face the direction she saw something move. And what she saw was a simple, yet elegant, rose folded out of paper placed on the ground near her feet. The Eternity Owl stared at it for a moment or two, before crouching down to pick it up in her hand. She twirled it around slowly for a second or two. The rose was really very well made even if it did smell like a wet and dirty dish rag. Too well made for a simple Brazilian street vendor or anything. That meant it had to have been made by only one other person that Kate knew. Her eyes narrowed briefly, frowning a little, as she tried to comprehend Che's reasons for making such a thing. It could be any number of reasons given Che's personality traits.

However, for this rose to even make it here, Che had to be somewhere nearby, right? Kate looked up from the paper rose in her hand and turned around to see if she could spot Che anywhere around. She finally noticed him, standing across the street watching her with his typical grin on his face. Kate stare at him without saying anything for a moment or two before shaking her head and continuing to walk down the sidewalk. 'I don't know what you're trying to say or prove to me, Presidiomini, but if you have something to say, just say it.'

Cecilia nodded when Erin asked her if they would be going with Che. "Unfortunately, yes," she said with a light chuckle. Despite the fact that Cecilia's tone was rather playful, it was clear that she was not very fond of Che. She had a feeling the two of them would clash a few times before they had to part ways again. She had even seen a bit of Che in Roulin as she remembered her purple eyed boyfriend's behavior at the restaurant a little over a week ago. A hint of disappointment touched Cecilia as she realized that the two of them might not get to spend any time together before they were forced to leave for their mission and who knew the next time they would get some time together. Cecilia shook the thought from her mind realizing that she was most likely being selfish. After all, there were more pressing matters at hand other than their love life. Directing her attention towards Erin once again, Cecilia spoke. "Well let's see if we can find a good restaurant with home cooked South American cuisine." She walked out of the door that Erin had held open for her, thanking her as she exited.

Erin smiled a little in slight amusement at Cecilia's response about Che being their team leader. She could tell just from the girl's tone, and didn't have read her mind at all, when she spoke that Cecilia was not fond of Che. She gave Cecilia a a smile with her eyes closed when she passed through the door. "Alright then. Let's go find something." she replied, falling into step next to Cecilia as they left the UNS building to try to locate some food. It wasn't long before Erin caught sight of a street vendor selling some local foodstuffs which resembled kabobs. "Here's something you should try." Erin said, pointing out the food stand to Cecilia. "It might be a little salty, but its quite good."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 8:41 pm

Cecilia shoved her arms into the pockets of her jeans as she walked with Erin out of the UNS building. Once again, the reactions from the people as she passed them were each different. Some merely nodded at her in greeting, some ignored her altogether, and others stared. Cecilia's lips twitched in amusement as she thought of how difficult it would be to blend in with even the largest of crowds. After all, her unique skintone could be seen from far away. Maybe she should start wearing something that covered her entire body. She stifled a laugh as she thought of herself wearing a skin tight leather biker girl outfit and a tinted helmet. It just wasn't her, but the thought was still rather amusing. They soon approached the vendor. It was then Cecilia realized that she did not have South American Money. "Oh s**t, I forgot to convert my money," she said. Yet, the man working behind the vendor handed Erin and her each a kabob. "Don't worry about it. Today is "Free Meat Day". Every vendor is selling free meat on this day!" He winked at the girls. Cecilia blinked a few times. "Er...thanks," she said accepting the kabob and biting into the meat. It was salty just like Erin had said, but it sent her taste buds tingling pleasurably. "It's more than quite good. It's very good actually." she took a larger bite, pulling the top meat off the stick and chewing it whole before swallowing.

"Kate!" Che called over to his usually emotionally distraught friend, right arm flailing to get her attention which he knew he already had. Quickly crossing the congested street, Che danced around the cars which didn't seem to be moving at all. To those inside of the cars, it was a taunt, but the italian didn't know or care what they thought. The way Kate looked at the paper rose when she lifted it from the ground made the owl laugh. When he arrived by her side, he was still doing so. "Looks like you've never had the pleasure of receiving a professionally made paper rose before." Cockily rubbing his nose, Che went on the say, "It's okay...I'm the best at it, so enjoy that one. If you want, I can change it's color. Anyway, you should probably take these hours to enjoy the sights or something. What do you say?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:11 pm

Erin gave the man behind the counter a smile and a thank you as she took the kabob. Even though she didn't really feel like eating at the moment, Erin took a small bite of the meat. She watched Cecilia's reaction and a smile of both amusement and gratitude appeared on her lips. "I'm glad you like it." The Artistic Owl replied cheerily, even if she wasn't feeling very happy now that she was in a predicament with her older sister. She didn't want to worry Cecilia, so that was the main reason why Erin was even bothering to eat right now. She chewed slowly before swallowing, mulling over what else she could talk about with Cecilia. After all, they didn't know much about each other besides name and abilities. The thought of abilities brought Erin back to what had happened during the meeting. "Oh... I want to apologize for earlier...If I made you feel uncomfortable by reading your mind like that when we hardly know each other, I'm sorry." Erin said softly, looking sheepish again.

====

Kate didn't turn around when she heard Che call out her name. She could hear him laughing the entire time as he crossed the street. What on earth could he possibly find so funny? She didn't stop walking until Che was right next to her. Kate turned to face him, a slight frown on her face. He was right though. The Russian girl hadn't ever received a paper rose before. But to her, that was besides the point. "I do not want something that smells like a wet dish rag." she stated bluntly, "You of all people should know better than to give a woman something that smells so badly, considering how long you have lived." In truth, Kate thought the gesture of Che's gift was cute but at the same time very silly. She was not about to admit to that out loud to Che's face though. "Sightseeing? Why would we want to survey the land that is currently at war with itself?" Kate asked simply. She wasn't trying to sound rude, believe it or not. She was simply stating a fact. South America was currently torn between two sides (owls or humans). "But I suppose we could do something. It would be better than wandering around with nothing to do."

Cecilia pulled off a chunk of meat from the stick and popped it into her mouth relishing in its taste. Despite the fact that Erin put on a cheerful disposition, Cecilia was sure that she was hurting over what her sister had said to her. Cecilia hated to see anyone upset, even if she barely knew them. She glanced at the young Artistic Owl as she mentioned what had happened during the meeting. "I'm the one who should be apologizing for behaving so coldly towards you. It's just that my mind is a very private place. There are certain events in my life that I keep locked away that I don't want anyone to see and even though you wouldn't mean to, I was afraid that you might have accidentally accessed one of those memories and quite a few of them, I'm not so proud of," she said. There were things that she was even reluctant to tell Roulin, let alone this girl standing before her that she barely even knew. "But um...I have to say, you have a great artistic talent," Cecilia complimented as a way of telling the girl that she bore no hard feelings towards her.

((Just let me know when you want me to post as Noel Maha))

Aeon looked at Moli with a scowl. "She's twenty two...just a couple of years younger than I...." she said to him. How old did he think everyone was? Roulin and Lucien should be around the same age she thought to herself. "And no you will be Uncle Moli that the kid will adore...or else" she said with a firm tone. She was so excited about the news her sister had given her. She was already planning a baby shower in her head and wanted to go buy clothing. "After we go swimming and we do this mission...we have a lot of shopping to do" she said to him as they overlooked the pool.

Elle had made her way towards the bar that Jeannie was at as she smiled at her. "Hi Jeannie, you don't mind if I have a drink with you do you? she asked her. Jeannie looked at Elle and nodded. "I don't mind, besides it's nice to know I'm not the only one in this group who drinks or attempts to be normal" she said in a slightly irritated voice. Elle smiled at Jeannie and looked at the bartender. "I'll take a rum and coke" she told the man.

As the man began to make her drink she looked at Jeannie. "I feel that you have some things on your mind, not that I'm prying or anything but you're a telepath so you would know if I was or not" she told her.
Jeannie shook her head and took another sip of her drink. "Yea you're absoloutely right" she said. "It's just that, I hate that I'm in a situation that I'm not in control of..." she said leaving it at that.

"Yea I know what you mean. Me and my sister just had a falling out. I think she's found a replacement for me, she decided that she would rather be loyal to a stranger rather than her sister" she said as she began to drink the rum and coke. Elle lusted to assimilate Jeannie's psych with hers but she was patient. "So what are you doing after this? she asked the blonde.

"I don't know maybe go sun bathe or go swimming, more than likely try and get a massage do you want to come along?" she asked bluntly. "Yes that would be lovely" Elle said to her and smiled.

"Not all of it is wartorn my dear. Look around you!" Che said as a symphony crackling noises arose from his knuckles. Keeping his eyes on his ever condenscending cohort, Che pulled a card from his sleeve, the brought it to the lower part of his palm allowing it to slip back from where it came. "This place isn't wartorn, although it may be just because this part of town is overlooked by that behemoth behind us." Of course, he was referring to the UNS building. "Let's try not to worry about fighting until we have to alright? And sorry about that smell...the paper sorta came from my body...enough about that thing. Let's get moving shall we?" Finally, Che's light hand motions and flailing's culminated in him pulling a card from behind the woman's right ear. With a magician's grin, he walked onward awaiting Kate to follow.

"If I can get my video games fixed, then I can probably be a cool uncle. You know how kids are though! They freaking evil..." Moli lamented after placing his chin atop the girl's shoulder. Much like all women, Aeon wanted a baby shower. He could roll his eyes because he was out of her vision. Rubbing her arms as they neared the pool, Moli sped up to move Aeon forward a tad faster. "Yeah, I know. I know. We'll be buying baby booties and stuff.....I'm bringing Roulin so I can have someone to talk to alright? If i'm going to suffer, someone else has to as well."
