Mouthing the word 'Kalos' to KO once, he took a moment to adjust his hat, eying Danthia before turning to start down the caverns again.

...Kalos? Oh, Kyle was worried because they didn't have native pokemon for the most part? Well that was going to come out sooner or later anyway but better that they have something to say to the Champion about it if she asked he supposed; something to ponder. Ranger Exchange program? She'd know about such a thing though. Mmh, great.

"Understood," KO nodded to Diantha, setting off once more as the group moved on. "I suppose we'll probably hear trouble before we stumble across it anyway."

After the group descended a short set of steps, the mirror-like gems surrounding them reflected dark shadows scattered about the cave. The shadows seemed to glint in the darkness, gleaming and glittering a variety of colors as they moved...

One glinting shadow's colors morphed from a pale blue to a bright red that grew brighter as the two points seemed to glow, then promptly disappeared from sight. A moment later, a pair of black beams tinged with red arced from the darkness out towards Adam.

(Odd lights in the Cave WRY?)

Adam followed the group along. They hadn't moved far, or very much at all, down a couple stairs. Combee and the couple scuttled off to find the entrance and Rook and Claire. It was weird walking down mirror steps...

He noticed the lights at first, blinking before shoving fists into his eyes and rubbing them roughly. Maybe it was just a trick of the light? But there, there it was - a very condensed spot as if they were eyes.

"Hey, guys?" Adam felt a weariness spread across himself. The lights gathered into a blue and then.... BLACK. Black with red. "********!" He ducked to the side, holding his arms out to catch his fall as he hit the cave stairs ungracefully. His body arched and slammed against the wall, almost rolling down said stairs, but he was able to halt his momentum with his feet. Still pain and bruises blossomed against his back and arms. He didn't know what that was, but it was scary as s**t an looked a little bit too much like a beam for his liking.

"Woh woh woh!" Kyle called out when the blast nearly took out one of their members. "Kalos League Rangers, we are here to help!" stepping forward and holding his hands up to the darkness, glancing around at the glinting shadows, not sure what was beyond them, but seeing as it was attacking them, it probably wasn't happy about what has been going on. "We have the champion with us, please don't attack."

The cave was so very pretty. Lex reached out carefully touching the mirrored surface, so, so smooth before following the group down a short flight of steps to an attack?

He stilled, eyes darting around. “Sammy? Are you okay?” He called, walking carefully to the fallen. “What did you see? “ He couldn’t see any pokemon but he was going to give his commarad the benefit of the doubt that there was something and he didn’t slip on a short flight of stairs.

KO cursed under his breath as Adam was attacked and cast around quickly to see if anything was going his way; this was a little less benign than a few rocks! Was just talking again going to work? They had to try first off he guessed, them being good Rangers who loved all the little and large pokemon in the world regardless of how awful some of them were.

"OH BLOODY 'ELL! Now what?!" Clancy exclaimed as... something appeared to have shot at Adam.
"I thought you bloody well calmed the pokémon down?!" He hissed at Tambrey.

Tambrey, stunned, shook her head, and gave him a confused look.
"I helped calm down some Mime Jr. They aren't all that lives here."
She then moved, carefully, cautiously, toward Adam with the aim to help him, or at least help him up.
"Are you alright?"

(Lex, Kyle, Ko and everyone else in ear range)

"Some kind of beam!" Adam hoped, really hoped, he wasn't overreacting. Something in his stomach said it was dangerous, and he'd rather trust his gut than be skewered by a pokemove, "Keep your eyes out of colors that coalesce."

Adam winced a smile at Tambrey, grateful for her concern, "Yeah.. Think so. More shocked and bruised than anything."

More trouble, of course. Frost hung back, scanning the cave with narrowed eyes and pursed lips. All of this nonsense was taking up time they did not have to spare, time he did not wish to spare.

Beams and gems in the dark, what were they dealing with here?

"It sounds like a possible ghost type then, since we can't see anything visible." Lex said and crouched next to Adam, offering a hand up. "Just bruised?" He asked, hopeful that Adam wasn't injured to badly.

At Adam's reaction, the shadows shivered and jumped about, the spots of light almost disappearing as high-pitched, cackling laughter floated out from the darkness.



Upon closer inspection, the group would just be able to make out the shape of a group of Sableye, too busy clutching their sides and laughing to bother hiding in the dark now.

(Lex and The Gem Eater)

Nodding, he grabbed Lex's hand and stood with a pained grunt, "Yeah... Uh... Just bruises." his muscles twinged in new places. That'd be nasty come the morning.

The laughter caught Adam's ear and confirmed Lex's theory, which embarrassed the blonde to no end. Laughing, he rubbed his flushed face and pointed to the Sableye, "Yup. Damn. Can't believe I got caught up in a prank..."

Taking out a pokeball, he loosed Manny. The Gastly swirled in the air, chirping in appreciation. "Manny, we've got a buddy here that I need you to chat with, you know? Maybe see if he'll let us go without more pranks and pain?"

The Ghastly looked at his trainer as if Adam had grown a second head,

Giving the ghost a thumb up, he grinned goofily, "That's the spirit buddy! Go get 'em!"

Further confused, the ghastly reluctantly turned and floated near the Sableye,

Kyle let his hands drop to his sides as he could hear what the pokemon bouncing around said, with a slight exasperated sigh. "Its just a bunch of wild Sableye."
He could of course understand them, though they just sounded like they were messing around and wasting their time rather than upset about what had been happening here.

"We don't have time for this, there is a Legendary trapped in here with Team Flare wanna-be after it. We can't let another Geosenge incident happen" Kyle glanced over to Daintha "I'll keep them off of us while we move."
With that he pulled a poke-ball from his belt, tossing it out to call upon a glistening blue Sylveon. Like Kyle, Roman was born and raised on Kalos, when it came to his Pokemon he had pretty thin pickings. thankfully this was all they really needed.

Oh, those were those... gem ghost things. KO wasn't entirely sure what they were called but he'd known somebody who trained one once, nice guy so it had been a shame about the concrete overshoes but the idiot really should have known better than to....

No time for nostalgia though, and at least the ghosts didn't seem hostile as such? And hopefully Manny's intervention would make a difference for the better; the Gastly seemed confused that Adam wouldn't have a conversation right now but hopefully he'd catch on.

"Nice trick," KO added cautiously with a slightly hesitant smile. "Don't mind us, we're just passing through looking for some other humans. Don't suppose you could point us at them could you?" Not that he was sure he could trust their word anyways of course, it was probably best just to press on and hope the pranksters didn't follow. Treating pokemon like this was weird!
