The fox howled in rage. "Kit! Need Kit!" With that they lashed out, focusing on Shadowstar.

"Like corwfood you do!" Wildflower spat at the beast, not stopping or slowing. She laughed proudly as her apprentice joined the fray, aiming to reward her later for her bravery. "That's it Rabbitpaw! Don't let up!" she hissed, yowling at the creature as she tried to help keep its attention towards the front where she and Shadowstar were at, leaving the more speedier cats free to attack in burst.

Rivermist halted as Longclaw leaped in front of her. First she spat, cursing his name as it threw off her swipe and she had to rear back to keep from attacking him. She still landed claws into the fox but not as deep or as hard as she had wanting. Sighing, she simply dodged around the side of Longclaw, aiming to strike in unison with him, hopefully. She could tell why Lightningclan hadn't quite finished it off though. Even for being just one fox, it hit hard. Cursing, she shook her fur and tried to push through the pain.

Russetstorm caught sight of Owlpaw as well as Shadowstar jumping into battle. Pride swelled in him at his apprentice's attempts, even if the paw was quickly overwhelmed. The fact that this fox hit hard concerned him, however, especially as it also seemed to focus harder on Shadowstar. Growling, he yowled loudly, hissing and spitting, trying his best to leap on its back and sink his fangs into its pelt.

Brightstar looked over to Leopardthroat and nodded. "It seems so." She tipped her head fondly into his. "Fine... The fox is out of Lightningclan... and we arent walking home with less warriors... so fine... Though we have to worry about riverclan a bit more..." She looked out over her warriors. And she had to worry about more things... like her deputies absence and silverstreak and Petalnose's behaviors. She waved her tail. "Yeah... fine..." She looked to Autumnriver, "I hope so."

The kit blinked gunky eyes up at Stonebelly. Letting itself be looked over. When coaxed it chewed on the leaf until the flavor hit and then it wrinkled its nose and spat them back out.

Foxfur met Flamedapples eyes. What did she want? To protect her clan and be the strongest warrior she could be? Or a den mother that sat back from the main battle. He purred meeting her headbump and then watched her go looking to the kit. "Alright... time to eat your plants..." When stonebelly came back he would see a large eyed kit with the leaves he had left being held in its face. No gentle encouragement here. He looked to his apprentice. "No its not going to eat us.... You dont taste good!!" He sighed and stared at the kit. "Dont worry... the warriors will handle it all...." And here he was stuck at camp.

Darktail pelted through the forest, tracking the overwhelming scent of fox as he joined the fray. He spared only a glance at Shadowstar, before launching himself at the fox with a fierce yowl.

Lostpaw's stomach churned as the scent of fox washed over her. She watched Cardinalpaw and Bumblepaw retreat towards one another. She wanted to go and join them, to wrap herself in with their warmth and tremble, but hiding wasn't what a warrior did. She'd seen war before, where she met with Direstar and Honeystar. Direstar wasn't here to protect her now... No, she had to do the protecting this time. She would make her family and her Clan mates proud.

Turning to look at Flamedapple, she nodded, a serious look in her eye.
"Yes." She said, sounding more confident then she felt. She glanced over at her fellow apprentices. Even though they had play fought with her moments ago, she had a feeling they wouldn't be joining her in the battle. Approaching them, she briefly touched her nose to Cardinalpaw and Bumblepaw's. "I've got to join the others now, but let's play more when I get back, okay?" She mewed with a nervous smile.

Then, turning away, she approached her mentor, gazing up at the older warrior.
"Ready when you are."

Stonebelly had returned with the bit of oozing honeycomb he still had, laying it on a dock leaf to keep it from getting dirty. However, when Foxfur arrived, coated in fox scent and speaking of how a beast was coming after the kit and for the camp, he bristled. Instinctively, he started towards the entrance of his den to go fight it, but... No. He wasn't a warrior any longer. He sighed through his nose and turned to look at Flamedapple.

"Make ForestClan proud." He mewed to Flamedapple and Lostpaw, the latter looking surprised to being addressed at all. He turned his gaze to Foxfur. "I'll leave you to standing guard in front of the den, lest that vixen gets past the cats at the border..." He shook his head and turned his gaze past Foxfur to the two apprentices. He frowned for a brief moment, knowing full-well that one of them couldn't hear, but... seeing them huddled together. Maybe he could stand to have their help, especially since this kit didn't appear to have any such plague that may infect them. "Do either of you know what lavender looks like? If not, come in and learn about it? It'll do you better than looking like scared rabbits, at any rate." He groused, flicking a tail that indicated they could come in. "But try not to crowd the kit. She's been through enough today as it is." And by the sound of it, it wasn't over yet.

Lilacflurry continued her attack! She really had nothing to o fight for other than simple fun. Why not fight her best? ( aka kirid has nothing to post but her roll )

Rabbitpaw had gone full cat attack mode. She could hear or see anything more than the red fur and fangs in front of her. She mostly attempted to keep from the front of the fox, choosing its behind or sides to be safe. She could hear the rush of adrenaline in her ears and almost felt... thrilled?

With the excitement to be doing so well she went in for another!

Silentblaze landed daintily on her paws beside Wildstripe. She tossed him a smile and a tail-flick, "Beautiful hits!" she exclaimed, which was still quieter than most, but at least he could hear her over the commotion they were creating. He was managing to land some blows that were obviously getting to the fox.

Now, she, on the other hand, needed a bit more practice. She spent so much time in the silence of the forest hunting that she knew she was rusty. Any paw helped, but she made a mental note to find Wildstripe later for some pointers.

For now, they had to protect home! And with that she jumped right back onto the fox, digging claw and teeth in.

Now, this was the fight he'd been waiting for! The male had been itching to throw himself into the fray of cats back on the border, but he supposed a fox would do. Actually, it was almost better. Fighting a foe that was so unlike a cat could only make you stronger right?

He leaped in and out, biting and scratching, not letting up one second in case it let the fox get a good hold on him. He was practically laughing as he attacked and even took blows in return. As long as he was still standing it looked as though he enjoyed every second.

Flamedapple purred when Lostpaw nodded, showing how brave she was. She leaned over and licked the paw on her head a few times. "Good." she nodded, turning to nuzzle under Foxfur's chin a bit. "Both." she said, smiling, knowing he'd catch her meaning. "I want to do both." she said before turning back towards Lostpaw and her kittens. "You two help Stonebelly and learn. Lostpaw, let's go show them what Riverclan is made of!" she mowed, waving her tail high before taking off out of the camp.

She ran as fast as her paws would take her, not even stopping to asses the situation. Diving into the battle with a loud yawl, Flamedapple flung herself at the fox like she had done at Split not just moments ago, teeth and claws unleashed in fury.

Bumblepaw watched as his mom raced off with Lostpaw before turning back to look at his sister then Stonebelly. He didn't know what was said but the tail flick told him enough and he nodded, padding into the den after. He took a moment to let his nose adjust more to the strong scents and passed a glance at the kitten, slightly wincing at Foxfur's job of plastering the leaves to its face. Mentally facepawing he stood at attention, glancing back for Cardinalpaw who was always his ears when need be.

Bearpaw's face screwed up at his mentors words but he was relieved that they weren't going to get eaten. Still though, inwardly he was betting he tasted very good because he was just naturally good like that. But now wasn't the time to debate or find out. "Um, Foxfur, I don't think that's how she's supposed to eat that." he half snorted before being ushered out by Stonebelly. He stood guard with his mentor, eyeing the clan entrance, ears perked and alert.

"Hey.... do fox's taste good?"

Wildstripe hung on as long as he could, weathering several wildly flailing bites and scratches from the fox before he finally lost his grip and was thrown free. He landed solidly on all fours, digging his claws in for leverage to keep from skidding, Silentblaze landing more gently nearby moments after. He gave her a brief wry grin in response to her compliment, unwilling to take his eyes off the fox for long. "Thanks, and you, quick as always," he shot back.

In all honesty, yes he could tell he had done some damage with that last hit. But he had taken some as well. He was panting already between the mad dash here and tackling the fox, but he could only imagine how much worse off he might be if Shadowstar hadn't pulled the vixen's attention away from him a moment ago.

The sight of all his kin working together to defend their home and each other lit a fire within him and with renewed strength, he growled and launched himself at the fox again. They would drive her away from camp; they had to.

Lostpaw had been so surprised when her father, Stonebelly, had wished her and Flamedapple off. As a rule, he didn't speak to her. At least, he never had before. He would 'hmph' occasionally in her direction, but that was it. Wasppaw was the family favorite, she knew that. Though her mother had joined RiverClan with her and her family, plus since she had received ForestClan's blessing...

This is not the time to worry over family matters! Lostpaw scolded herself as she raced forward alongside her mentor. As she got closer to the battle, she bristled and launched herself onto the fox, aiming to get in whatever damage she could do to it. She'd make everyone acknowledge her and see that she was so much more than they could have ever imagined!

Shadowstar had to dig her claws in to keep from being knocked over. That she-beast hit hard! It wasn't possible for her to keep track of all her Warriors in the fray, Forestclan knew she tried. Taking the brunt of the attack was the least she could do for them.

That the fox had that much fight in her after going though all of the Lightningclan and just took all her strongest Warriors at once without showing any slow down...That frightened her. After this, when they all survive this, she had to get working training harder.

First, this! Yowling again, the Leader snarled and again insisted, "Kit. Not. Here." Gone were the delusions she could take this thing down on her own.
